The contact owns a 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the contact removed his foot from the accelerator pedal to depress the brake pedal while approaching a stop light, the vehicle stalled. The contact cycled the key several times when the vehicle started. A message displayed on the instrument panel “evaporative emission system pressure system/switch range/performance”. The contact stated that he was concerned for safety while driving the vehicle. The contact stated that on a separate occasion while driving at an undisclosed speed, he heard a knocking sound coming from the hood of the vehicle. The contact then used a code reader to diagnose the vehicle and retrieved dtc code: p0451 – (evaporative emission system pressure) and p0304 (cylinder 4 misfire). The dealer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and the contact was informed that a claim would be started after the vehicle was taken to the dealer. The failure mileage was approximately 160,000.

2 Storage Evaporative Emissions Canister problem of the 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500

Failure Date: 06/01/2023

The contact owns a 2019 Chevrolet Silverado 1500. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle shuddered. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted, and the vehicle was diagnosed, and it was determined that the purge valve and evap system needed to be replaced. The vehicle was repaired, but the failure recurred. The vehicle was taken back to the dealer, where it was determined that the fuel pump control module needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired due to parts not being available. The manufacturer was contacted, but no assistance was provided. The failure mileage was approximately 80,000.
