My truck will not start randomly. The truck will crank but won't fire. If I wait a while it will eventually start. I took it to the dealer and was told that they could not recreate it. No check engine light on and no error codes noted.

Check engine light came on throwing p203b code, which is the reductant level sensor code. This seems to have been an issue already in these vehicles dating back to 2011 when it started. I found a service bulletin #14652a regarding the replacement of such sensor but the dates on the vehicles only state 2011-2012. I want to see if there is a newer bulletin released which covers the later years with the same problem.

The check engine light comes on at 27600 miles while driving and this not 1st time this has happend . Once the engine light is on the truck then loses power detunning the vehicle causing the vehicles power to not be as strong as if engine is in limp mode. At 24000 mile truck went into shop for same issue and gm replace all injectors hoping this would be the fix . . Prior to 24000 miles at 23600 mile 1 injector was replace . I have now placed 3600 miles driven before light decided to come back on with all injectors replaced and now codes p1089 ,and now my truck is show number of codes including b1011 , b1325 and u0164 both this truck with just shy 21000 mile and start to wonder why last customer may have traded his self.

While driving the vehicle the check engine light comes on, the stabilitrak light comes on and the vehicle shuts off. Within seconds the engine restarts. The most common occurrence is when traveling on bumpy roads. When this happens at freeway speeds, the same will happen, and the cruise control will disconnect, and cannot be reset until around 30 minutes. Again, the engine will die and immediately restart. This is happening much more frequently lately. The vehicle has approximately 95,000 miles on the odometer.

I have been having multiple glow plug failures on my vehicle. One right after another. It has gone to the dealer every single time for the repairs I even asked the dealer mechanic if I was the only one and he stated that there are many others with my issue with failing glow plugs. The dealer has a full record of all the issues iv had and every time my vehicle has been in their shop. Something has got to be done! soon as I try to use my remote start the truck starts then dies then I get a check engine light so I call onstar they give me the code and sure enough its a failed glow plug. Then im unable to even use remote start features of my vehicle at this point.

I experienced a sudden loss of engine power while travelling at highway speed. I am the original owner of a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 four wheel drive with the duramax diesel and allison transmission. On Sunday, October 4, 2015, shortly after a fuel stop, I was traveling on interstate 24 near paducah, ky. At approximately 65 mph in the left lane with the cruise control set, I experienced a sudden loss of power accompanied by a loud engine rattling, and the check engine light came on. With some difficulty in heavy traffic, I was able to maneuver to the right shoulder of the road. I was able to drive the vehicle at about 25 mph on the shoulder. Since I was just a few miles from the paducah exit, I limped there and into a hampton inn parking lot. Aaa responded and towed the truck to royal oaks Chevrolet in paducah. Since it was a Sunday, the service department was closed. The next morning, the dealership¿s service department pulled up codes po202 and p2149. The service manager reported that there was a service bulletin on this issue and that it would be several days before the repair parts would be available. I later learned that the service bulletin is #05-06-04-047c. The bulletin addresses "a severe reduction in engine power (limp home mode)" I was charged $1,076 for repairs for a known defect that Chevrolet knew about.

Check engine warning light came on then immediately lost all engine power completely stalled), electrical (except headlights), power steering, power brakes. Engine would not restart after vehicle stopped (went into walk home mode), not even the horn would work! after about 20 minutes, the engine would restart and I could drive home, but with the check engine light on. I took the truck to the dealership the next day. The reprogrammed the main computer. After a few days, it happened again! took the truck back to the dealer. They said they would need to order a new computer, they reprogrammed the defective computer again and said they would call when the new one was in. The same condition repeated itself a few more times before the new computer came in and they replaced it. No problems since. I consider loosing all power in a turn onto an interstate rather dangerous! the dealership confided my experience was not at all unusual with these vehicles.

While driving, the check engine light comes on and "reduced engine power" is illuminated on the dash. Stepping on the gas does nothing. The vehicle just coasts along and runs rough. I have to pull over and shut it off for a few seconds. Sometimes it doesn't clear the problem right away and needs to be restarted several times. There is no rhyme or reason as to when this happens. It happens almost every day, on busy expressways or on main roads and side roads. The gas pedal loses communication with the throttle body. This is nerve wracking when driving 65 mph on the expressway and all of a sudden the vehicle wont respond to stepping on the gas pedal. Trying to get over several lanes to the side of the road is dangerous when there is no acceleration. It is also bad when on a busy, main road, the vehicle "acts up". I have to pull over, blocking traffic, until I can get it going again.

The truck had the check engine light come on when we took it to the dealership they replace the fuel pressure regulator. The light soon came back on due to a faulty fuel pump which sent the car into safe mode, which made the car do a nose dive from 55 to 15 in a matter of seconds on a major interstate in atlanta.

Vehicle remains running but shows power reduction. Check engine light comes on and stays on. You have to pull over, shut it off, press the arrow button on the steering wheel for a few second and restart. This happened on i35 at 70mph 4 times in 40 miles yesterday.
The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. While driving approximately 65 mph, the engine stalled without warning. The contact waited for one hour before the vehicle would restart and resume normal operation; however, while traveling the stalling failure recurred. In addition, the failure occurred on a separate occasion and the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where they informed the contact that the crank shaft position sensor would need to be replaced. There was a recall associated with NHTSA campaign id number 07v521000 (engine and engine cooling). The VIN was excluded from the recall. The vehicle had not been repaired at the time of the complaint. The failure mileage was 100,000.

During the winter here in northern ohio I have been experiencing a reduced power mode in my chevy diesel powered truck. It has happened repeatedly, almost daily, and on Friday, Mar 20th, while driving on the freeway the truck unexpectedly went into this reduced power mode twice and dropped from 65 mph to less than 40 mph, almost causing a crash because of the sudden deceleration in one instance. I have been to the dealership twice now over this issue, in both cases they said it was my aftermarket air intake product and it's supposed fouling of a key engine sensor, the maf sensor. They blamed oil from the air filter fouling the sensor, and yet the air filter was there and there was no sign of oil seepage or fouling of the sensor. Since then I have, at my expense, replaced the air intake system back to factory and the maf sensor, and all that was before Friday when I almost got hit by a semitruck. I have researched the internet, consulted with two aftermarket air intake manufacturers and have determined that this issue is not what has been blamed to date but something else faulty on my truck. Either in the wiring harness affecting sensor output or a different sensor that works in conjunction with the one sensor that the dtc says is at fault. There has been issued TSB's on this engine family relating to my issue, GMC is aware that there exists an issue, and yet I have to pay out of pocket for repairs and parts and labor for something that should have been resolved the first time under warranty. The dtc is p0102, maf sensor low input, the sensor I replaced looks identical to the one I put in, no signs of fouling. I even at one point purchased a maf sensor cleaner made by crc, used it according to directions and still got the dtc, the reduced power mode and a check engine light. The truck will resume normal operating after 15 to 20 minutes, but then will fault out again soon after or on the next restart. No issue last winter, even w/ the aftermarket air system.

Began having problems with starting the vehicle on occasion. That lead to losing complete power while at highway speeds (65 mph) as well as losing complete power while at idle or slow speeds. The last time it happened the check engine light came on. It showed a code that indicated the crankshaft sensor was at fault. Truck was taken to dealership and this was confirmed, however the dealer informed me that the recall (07v521000) did not apply to my VIN even though it was a 2001 with an 8. 1 l. I paid to have it fixed at a cost of $375.
I have a 2002 chevy Silverado 2500hd with a 8. 1. Two months ago the truck just stalled while I was driving it and then immediately re-started. Since then there have been several occasions where the truck simply shuts off while I am driving. It has become progressively difficult to restart the engine. I stalled out in the middle of an intersection the other day and sat there for 2-3 minutes trying to start the truck. There seems to be no rhyme or reason to when or why this happens. My engine light has never been tripped by this problem. After reading the trouble codes and consulting with several mechanics we determined the problem to be the crank shaft position sensor. As I read through complaints on this website I notice this is a fairly common problem. It is also very dangerous. With the amount of complaints and the level of danger associated with this I would hope this would be recalled for the safety reasons.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd diesel. The contact stated while driving, the check engine light illuminated and the vehicle stalled. The contact mentioned the failure happened several times. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who was unable to diagnose the failure. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure but stated they would contact him at a later date. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was unknown and the current mileage was 124,869.
The contact owns a 2001 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 hd. The contact experienced intermittent losses of power with his vehicle. The failure occurred numerous times while driving at both low and high speeds, but was originally noticed at 60 mph. There were no warning indicators prior to the vehicle losing power. Occasionally, the vehicle would shut down and immediately restart, but other times, it would take longer to do so. The dealer stated that the VIN was not included in the recall pertaining to this failure. The contact called the manufacturer's customer service line and was informed that there was no recall for this failure; however, he was also informed that his VIN was not included in the recall because his check engine warning light did not illuminate prior to the failure. The recall number was unknown. The current mileage was 121,000 and failure mileage was approximately 119,000. Updated 7/3/08.
