Ii took my 2017 1500 silverado I purchased 11/2020 that had about 9500 miles to the chevy service center and stated while driving my vehicle when coming to a stop during the 2-1 downshifting of the transmission a very loud clunking noise and at the same time it feels like something hit the rear of the vehicle. Upon starting from a stop sign or stop light the 1-2 shifting of the transmission makes the same loud clucking noise and it feels like something hit the vehicle was in the rear again. The chevy service person stated that in the vehicles history, the prior owner had the factory update and reprogram the transmission to try to correct my current issues. I then left the dealership with the same issues prior to my visit. On 7/21/2020 I was having my vehicle serviced for a factory recall for the rear widow defrost. I stated again to the chevy service about my continued transmission driveline clunking issues. According to my service paperwork the sevice tech stated the transmission is operating as normal, but attached to my service paperwork stating bulletin #pit5161g normal characteristic-bump feel or clunk noise after a stop {affecting GMC chevy years 2007-2020 and also up dated # bulletin #99-04-002k information on driveline clunk {oct 29 2019}. To date 9/17/2020 I am still having the same driving issues.

The engine shut off on the freeway at speed and I lost all control of the vehicles steering and braking. It said it was a crankshaft position sensor problem. Went to the dealer and they said it was a dirty sensor. Also have had and on going problem with low oil pressure 10 lb at idle and 20 lb at speed. It also runs very rough at idle. Also have an on going problem with noise from the transmission and a hard shifting or slipping transmission. It also makes a load noise when turning the steering wheel when turning, and has gotten worse over time.

Loud squeal noise in the transmission of 2006 chevy silverado when it runs in low gear and when it is in drive and shifts from low to high gear. The truck was taken back to the dealer 2 times and we were told it was a normal noise for the 4l80e transmission. We took it to another gm dealer who said there was a problem. We called gm and they had us take the truck back to the dealer we bought it from. We were told it was a normal noise after the mechanic drove it. When it was used to pull a trailer loaded with hay, the noise was even greater. I am concerned that there will be an accident with this truck.

1. I bought a used "certified" 2500 hd silverado with 33000 miles on it. I have owned it abut three months. On three separate occasions I have noticed the transmission slip or "hesitate" when accelerating from a stop. The engine will rev but the car does not move. When I let off the gas I can feel it shift suddenly and the car will move. 2. I noticed a whining sound in the transmission when it is in gear. Chevrolet service department tells me it is common on my truck and there is nothing they can do about it, it is the plenary. The sound is louder and continues throughout the entire driving range. It began at about 35000 miles. The service rep stated they had a service announcement on it, but I have not seen that yet. 3. About three weeks after I bought the truck, I noticed a clicking and grinding sound when the brakes were applied lightly. First time in the dealer could not find anything. Second time in they found the left rear axle seal leaking and replaced that. The third time in they adjusted the brakes so that it was almost impossible to apply light break pressure. After a couple of days of use the brakes loosened up some and now the clicking and grinding noise is back and it is more noticeable with even a little heavier pressure on the brakes. I will be scheduling a return trip for this and the whining sound in the transmission, but gm seems to take the approach that if it is "functioning" don't repair it.

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. While driving 80 mph, the vehicle automatically downshifted to second gear. The contact was unable to shift gears. He took the vehicle to the dealer and they stated that there was nothing wrong. The vehicle downshifted again while driving and the dealer repeated that nothing was wrong with the vehicle. Another dealer stated that the transmission was burned. In April of 2007, they replaced the transmission at 26,102 miles. After the replacement, the failure recurred accompanied by a severe grinding and slamming noise. The vehicle then shifted into third gear. Since the transmission was replaced, the vehicle has been to the dealer at least ten times. As a result of the transmission failure, the contact accidentally struck a deer. A police report was filed. General motors developed a case file on November 13, 2007. They called the contact the following day and stated that the initial representative working on the case was unavailable. The contact has yet to hear back from general motors. The failure mileage was 20,000 and current mileage was 34,700.
