Was on a trip and the engine light came on, we stopped and checked everything and came up with nothing. Took it to the garage and was told they put it on the machine and it came up the transmission, the garage pulled the transmission pan and said it had metal shavings in the pan. It has 64,000 on it and they say there is no warranty and we are pretty sure we bought an extended warranty but papers are in the truck which we don't have access to- either way it should be covered whether or not we have a warranty which they say expired in March. The truck has no signs of transmission failure. It is at the garage getting a new transmission in it which is 4600, which I feel we should get some kind of reimbursement since it should be covered. The garage has the truck and we don't have the paperwork yet-this is also the dealership where we purchased the truck.

Tl the contact owns a 2018 Chevrolet Silverado 2500. The contact received a text message stating that there was transmission failure. The contact stated that the vehicle would downshift independently and not exceed 35 mph. Also, the engine rpms revved at a dangerous level. Ocean city Chevrolet (2366 ocean hwy w, shallotte, nc 28459, (910) 364-9917) stated that the part for the repair would be shipped in two days; however, the contact could still drive the vehicle since the failure occurred intermittently. The part that was replaced was a sensor to the transmission to avoid the sudden downshifts. The manufacturer was not contacted. The failure mileage was 2,914.

My 2006 silverauto with the durmax engine and alison transmission. The transmission line have been leaking. I have 60,000 miles on it so the warranty is out. When I took it into the Chevrolet dealership where I purchased the vehicle they would not cover the leaks as part of the drive line warranty. When I purchased the lines from the parts department they indicated that they were selling a lot of these hoses due to leaks. If there are this many lines leaking I think Chevrolet should replace these faulty lines at there expense. Also I know of one other 2007 model that burned out the transmission due to these lines. Because the transmission failed Chevrolet replaced the transmission and the lines.

I had a transmission cooler line to fail and leak badly after 41,000 miles. It was caught in time to prevent transmission failure but how about the next one?it was replaced with a new part at the chevy dealer.
2003 chevy 2500hd duramax/ allison transmission has 94,300 miles on it. Found defect while backing it out of driveway; the back cover of the transmission was cracked and fluid coming out. The cover is part no. 29544804 through gm. At a cost of $666. 60 plus other parts need for repairs and labor also needed to be added to charges. The new part is just that, new from old defective part. I just did the repair my self because just lost my job the day of the transmission failed and couldn't pay to have it done. Gm tells me it is an old truck why it failed and they have no liability; yet the new cover is much heavier in design from original one.

I had the transmission fluid flushed and filter changed and the mechanic tells me there was a lot of metal particles in the transmission fluid and felt there was an impending failure. The chevy dealer told me to wait to see what occurs since he had not heard of an allison transmission failing at 50,000 miles which is where the mileage was at when I had the above service done. It seems to drive fine but I am very concerned. I have a duramax engine with the allison transmission bought in 2003 of a 2003 chevy silverado diesel 2500hd. Little towing done with the vehicle so that is not the cause.
