The airbag light comes on when driving. Issues with airbag wiring under seat. Wiring harness is on back order meaning this is a common problem. Gm should be recalling and taking care of these issues. When one buys a 2017 Suburban and paying over $40k you don't expect to be investing money to be fixing safety issues.

Takata recall- my understanding is there is an active recall oem#16v383000 (5-31-16) & oem#16v381000 (5-31-16) the dealer has told me there is nothing they can do, however the recall is now two years old. My service airbag light has been on now for about 4 months, and I would like this problem resolved. I would like some answers from someone. The gm dealer here in winston-salem is not helping at all. The Lexus dealer has already replaced the airbag on my daughters car, but no one with gm is making an attempt.

The check airbag light will come on randomly at any given time. It usually stays on for about two days or so and goes off for several weeks before popping back on. We usually see this happen when there are temperature changes from season to season. Even though there is a recall concerning the airbag system on certain makes and models, we were surprised when our truck was not on the list.
My 2012 Suburban which I bought new in 2013 with 100 miles, after 3 years starting getting cracks in the dash. A month after the 3 year warranty expired. The passenger side crack runs from the air vent to the airbag door and now my service air bag light stays on. A larger crack (6+inches) has appeared on the drivers side running from the vent to the top of the steering column, if I continues the dash will completely separate in half exposing electronics, etc.

The airbag error indicator on the dash activates frequently, especially after driving several hundred miles in one day. When the error message is activated, the backup camera image is pixilated. It does not do it when the vehicle is in park. Chevrolet service technicians have been unable to recover the error code or replicate the error message. This is a continuing problem.
One morning came out to start my 2005 Suburban and the service airbag message popped on along with the airbag light. Took it to my service center and was told it was a front impact sensor. Was also told this is a common problem on these vehicles. After doing some research online I have found this to be a very common problem rendering the airbag system inop. I believe gm needs to step up and fix the issue with the sensors as not everyone has $400 to fix a faulty sensor. The odometer on my Suburban is 127,000 miles, so by no means driven hard.
