Driving when you reach about 30-35 mph all the locks start cycling up and down, all the gauges go haywire, there is a throttle in the engine. When you turn it off sometimes it starts back up and runs fine and sometimes it won't do anything like the battery is dead and then a few minutes later it comes back on and starts back up. The last incident was 01/09/20 but this started in 12/2019. The vehicle has a brand new engine which only has about 1,000 miles on it. Also there is a crack in the dash at the corner of the passenger side air bag.

We were on a two lane road heading westbound. East bound vehicle crossed center strip striking our front drivers side of vehicle. We were on a curve in the road, traveling approx 40-45mph while other vehicle was traveling the same mph if not more. Our vehicle sustained frame damage to the front drivers side as well as all airbags deploying except passenger side airbag/in seat airbag. Airbags that did deploy include: steering wheel, drivers curtain, drivers side airbag/seat, passenger dash board, passenger curtain, middle row curtains (both sides), 3rd row curtains (both sides). Passenger sitting in front seat is an adult and large enough that the airbag should have deployed. Attached are pictures to show all airbags in front row, as well as vehicle damage and police report. I have additional photos to show the rest of the airbags if needed.
Dashboard cracked around the passenger side airbag as well as other locations on the dash. The concern is that the airbag inflation will be impeded by the cracking dashboard. Vehicle was in motion on a city street when the crack occurred.
Dashboard is cracked in several places from driver side to passenger side. It has cracked all around the passenger side airbag. In the event of an accident I'm very concerned the dash will interfere with the airbag deployment. I am also concerned it will become like pieces of flying shrapnel. The dash is defective and should have a recall.

I have 3 cracks in the dash of my Suburban. 1 is in the far left, front corner of the passenger side air bag, and the other 2 are in front of the steering wheel, about 8 inches apart. My concern, aside from paying so much money for a vehicle and having the dash crack for no reason, is that the airbag being deployed on the passenger side may send plastic pieces flying at the passengers face. There is obviously a defect in the production of these dashes, as I have read other people state the same issue, in the same spots. I encourage general motors to issue a recall on this part, as it could pose a dangerous situation in the event of an accident. The vehicle was parked during the period the dash cracked.
Within the last two months, two cracks have appeared in the dash near the passenger side airbag.
Vehicle in motion, turning from a stop in the city when all side airbags deployed. Insurance determined it was not a collision. Gm is investigating our claim.
The dashboard cracked in two places at around 50,000 miles. There is a crack between the passenger side airbag cover and the front edge of the dashboard and one over the instrument panel to the front edge of the dashboard. I was told initially that this is simply a cosmetic issue, but subsequent reports suggest that these cracks may cause the dashboard to splinter with airbag deployment, causing preventable harm to passengers.
This vehicle has been garaged since it was new yet the dash board has cracks everywhere. There are cracks around the passenger side air bag which I am concerned for my passengers safety as it may be possible if the air bag were to deploy, plastic shrapnel from the defective dash may fly and injure someone.
The dashboard has cracked around the passenger side airbag. Certainly I feel this is a safety concern that chevy needs to fix. The vehicle is used only for leisure and is parked in the garage when not in use.
I noticed last year that my driver side dash had a crack between the windshield and the steering wheel and at first was shocked as I thought I was seeing things but infact it was cracked. I contacted my car detailer and asked if he noticed it and he told me he sees this in many Suburban's and escalades that he details and thought I was aware of it and would contact the dealership! I contacted the dealership that said it was not common and asked if I use a sun shade being that it's so hot in south florida & I told them I always do and I have a 1996 isuzu trooper and I don't have any cracks in my dash. The dealership said there was nothing they could do. I recently recieved a recall letter stating my vehicle had an airbag recall and when I went online to check the status I saw all these complaints about owners of chevy Suburban's with dashboards cracking. I was on lunch break today and when I got in my truck I wanted to take a closer look at the airbag compartment and to my disbelief, the passanger side dash also had a crack in it now and in the exact same spot as all the other complaints just above the passanger side airbag compartment and same area on the drivers side. Being that both Suburban's & escalades are manufactured by gm, I now know there's a serious problem and gm needs to take responsibility for this defect for the amount of money these vehicles cost!!! ( $72,000. 00 was what my southern comfort custom Suburban cost me. ) so gm what are you going to do about these ongoing issues with cracking dasboards/airbags??? this is just the begining of my fight on this problem that should not have happened. And I see I'm just one of many complaints with this problem.
Vehicle developed two cracks on the top of the dashboard assembly. One crack is located on the passenger side of the vehicle, running from the forward-left corner of the passenger side airbag to the defroster vent. The other crack is on the driver side, inboard and slightly forward of the instrument panel "hump. " cracks discovered while vehicle was stationary. I understand this to be common, known manufacturer defect for this vehicle and related general motors vehicles (e. G. , GMC yukon, yukon xl, avalanche, tahoe, etc. ). This is a safety issue due to the location of the cracks potentially affecting passenger side airbag deployment, creating a dangerous shards of flying plastic in the event of a passenger side airbag deployment, the potential negative impact on the structural integrity of the dashboard and subsequent non-compliant performance during a collision, and potential dust and water intrusion into the interior of the dashboard through the cracks which would affect the various electronic components located in the dashboard interior.
Noticed the dashboard is cracked around the passenger side airbag. Have concerns that may cause a safety risk if improperly deployed.
The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban. After turning the ignition key to start the engine, both the driver and passenger side air bags erroneously deployed. During the incident, the driver sustained chest and facial bruises and lacerations. The front passenger sustained bruises and lacerations to both arms and hands. Medical attention was not received. The cause of the failure was not diagnosed. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 160,000.
Dashboard cracking at passenger side airbag and driver side above speedometer.
The dashboard is cracked in several places including over the instrument panel and around the passenger side airbag. If the airbags were to deploy, shards of the dashboard would become instant projectiles into the cabin potentially causing serious injury or death. Cracks occurred over a period of time when the vehicle was not in motion.
The vehicle dashboard has developed major cracks in two places. One crack is adjacent to the passenger side air bag. The other crack is above the steering column. I am concerned that the entire dashboard will become shrapnel if the airbag system was to deploy. Additionally, the entire dashboard "flaps" when the vehicle is moving.
Dashboard of 2009 Chevrolet Suburban cracked in 2 places, including around passenger side airbag and above drivers side instrument cluster/steering wheel. Concerned for the proper deployment of the airbag during potential crash due to the cracked dash that surrounds the airbag. This is a safety issue that needs to be addressed. Hundreds if not thousands of other similar vehicles possess the same manufacturing defect in the dashboard and all have reported large cracks in the exact same area.
There is a crack on top of the dashboard that has become progressively larger. Recently a second crack appeared right over the passenger side airbag. This may interfere with the deployment of airbags. This seems to be a recurring problem with 2007 and 2008 chevy with same dashboard (tahoe, Suburban, et al. ) models.
The dash on my 2008 Suburban cracked at around 70,000 miles, in 2012. I reported it then to both my dealer and gm. They called this a cosmetic issue and that they were clearly not responsible, however, many many other Suburbans, tahoes, sliverados, and trucks have the very same issue and at exactly the same spots around the airbag. The cracks are around the passenger side airbag, such that, if the airbag were to deploy, sharp plastic shrapnel would fly into the passenger's face. This is a deadly safety concern that I take extremely serious, such that the situation becomes gm is literally and directly threatening the safety of my family. Pictures are attached which show the safety defect adjacent to the airbag. Please help push gm with addressing this serious deficiency.
Dash is cracking around passenger side airbag, if its deployed the hard plastic dash fragments could be deadly.
The contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that the passenger side air bag was fractured and the cracked. The vehicle was taken to the dealer yet vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and they stated they would return the contacts call. The contact had not received a return call. The vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 56,800.
Was hit on the passenger side and the side impact airbags did not deploy. Truck then flipped and no airbags deployed.

in a crash on 5/27/06 where another driver pulled out in front of me and I hit him at approximately 45 mph or slightly below the driver's side airbag in my 1996 chevy. Suburban 1500 lt. If this is a known problem, please add this to your database; if not you may want to investigate other such models. I do have photos of the aftermath of the crash but was not able to attach them here.
