We noticed a crack on the dashboard that appears to move between the passenger airbag and the center dash vent on July 11th, 2020. There was a substantial amount of noise "ratlling" from the dash board. On July 18th we noticed that the spa e on the dash under the vent was hanging even lower and more noise. On 7/27/20 we realized the crack continues to spread and the dash is sunk in more. We arw concerned the air bag will not deploy if needed or that further cosmetic injury will happen to the dash. The car was initially stationary outside our home. Each instance the crack is visible as well as the increased space under the vent. The problem became more evident as we drove off each time. We take city streets and highway when driving. This vehicle has never been in an accident. We have owned several makes and models of different vehicles and have no idea why this is happening. We do know we have six children and this is our family car that we no longer feel safe driving.

Would get intermittent air bag warning light. Took it to one dealership and found no codes. Later I figured out it would only be on with a passenger in the seat and took it to another dealership where it was found to be the passenger presence module. With the light on the airbag will not deploy. Filed the complaint with gm warranty department as the truck is a 2014 model and only 54,000 miles, gm will not warranty or pay for the fix. Had to pay out of pocket to correct this safety feature.

There are several cracks in the dash of my 2010 Chevrolet Suburban as explained below. One of these crack is in the area of the passenger side airbag which is mounted on top of the dash. As the dash expands in the heat, typically in the hot months of the summer, the plastic portion of the dash will cover the airbag portion of the dash. I am concerned that if I do not notice this and the vehicle is involved in a crash, the airbag will not operate properly. I am afraid vehicle occupants might be injured by the dash if the airbag deployed under the plastic portion of the dash or that they will be injured if the airbag would not deploy properly. There are also two cracks in the dash in the area over the instrument cluster which allows a portion of the dash to be completely removed from the main dashboard. This portion of the dash that can be removed causes a problem on long trips due to the fact that it will vibrate out of place. My concern with this piece is its location in relation to the steering wheel. I am concerned that if this piece moves out of place, it could move into the open area at the top of the steering wheel and interfere with my ability to control the steering of the vehicle. I was also informed by a local dealership that my airbag or airbags have been recalled. In regards to both of these issues, the customer assistance representative advised that gm is aware of both problems, but that they are still investigating the problems and possible resolutions. How long does it take to investigate the cause of the dash problems? this has been a well documented problem for several years that affects many vehicles, yet gm claims not to know what caused it or to take any responsibility for the inferior dashes that were placed in quite few year models of their vehicles. I feel that this broken dash is a safety issue with the vehicle.
A driver ran the red traffic light and hit my vehicle as I was making a left turn in the intersection. The impact was so intense that he managed to shift the entire front frame of my vehicle. My air bags did not deploy.
Takada recall- on may 27 2016 we were involved in an accident in our 2015 Chevrolet Suburban. 2 of the 4 passengers passed away. We were ran off the of road and hit twice by a truck pulling a trailer. All airbags except the front passenger and drivers front airbag deployed. This occurred while the vehicle was in motion. We crossed northbound lanes and came to a complete stop about 10 feet off of the roadway. A motorhome towing a Jeep locked their brakes going approx 65 pmh when they saw us cross the road and lost control causing them to come off of the roadway. They hit us, causing us to spin around and then hit us again. The accident ended with us being slammed into a cement culvert. During this time the front airbags still did not deploy and also the steering wheel broke off. The front passenger passed away as well as his sister sitting behind him. Can someone look into this and see why the front airbags did not deploy and also why the steering broke? thank you. Jessica smith.

I was driving on 7th Ave and a car ran a stop sign at an intersection. It was dark early morning. I hit the car coming across and drove it into a tree. The driver in the camary had to be cut out of her car . My car had the front end severly damaged. Almost $10,000 damage to my car. The airbags did not activate. I asked the body shop doing the work and the state farm insurance claims person about why they did not work and was told the accident may not have been severe enough or the angle we hit did not require them them to deploy. The driver in the other car went to the hopspital. And I had knee surgery. I do not know the status of her injuries. I wonder why my airbags did not deploy at such a collision and if there are other Suburbans out there with the same problem the owner just doesn't know or won't know til a collision.

Vehicle was in shop one time all ready because air bag light came on. Took in for service they said loose ground all fixed. Then on 9/11/2006 I was involved in an accident. A driver failed to yield while making a left turn. I hit him broad side at 45 miles per hour. Smashed front end of my vehicle, smashed the side of his vehicle in buckling his dash and his vehicle flipped on its side. My air bags did not deploy on the vehicle. I contacted gm and they said everything is ok, they sent out a person to investigate and he states that everything is ok. But at the scene of the accident every police officer did not believe me when I told them the air bags did not deploy, nor did the paramedic, they had to go look for themselves and see because they thought that they should have gone off. I have pictures of both vehicles if you should need them. I feel there is a safety defect.
I purchase a 2002 chevy Suburban on 7/2/05 in delaware county from a dealership. We drove the car to our house in montgomery county and the car didn't move from the house until 7/4/05. On 7/4/05 my fiance drove the car to work and the tire exploded from the left front of the car on the way. The car hit the barrier on the right side and bounced off and then proceeded to hit the left side barrier were it came to a stop. The tire was not recoverable. Also the air bag never deployed. The accident happen going north on 309 in bucks county on a straight uphill gradient. The conditions of the road and weather were dry. There is a police report on the incident stating accident happen due to tire failure. According to the inspection sticker the tire was removed and inspected by the dealership. We have been trying to get this settled with the dealership for the past year, since we only had the car for a little more then a day. There response was and still is that there is nothing they can do to help. The estimate we received from the body shop was for $22,000 therefore the car was totaled and is currently sitting in my driveway. The tire was a goodyear wrangler p265/70r17.
