On August 21, 2021 my daughter GA’niya witherspoon, husband gerald gaskins and myself was in a car accident on the 495 beltway in pg county, maryland. We where hit from the rear back side (fishtail) on the passenger of vehicle which caused the vehicle to spin across all 4 lanes and hit the guardrail. . The impact caused all of us to be locked inside the vehicle in which I had to physically kick my door open from the inside because I was unable to get out. I was able to get out and go to my husband side (drivers side) because he was bleeding from his head,I had to forcefully pull and pull to open his door because it was also jammed and wouldn’t open. Same for my daughters side( passenger rear). . The entire front of the truck was pushed back, doors, front and back of the vehicle was badly damaged and not one airbag deployed. . Not one. My husband was the driver and sustained head injuries with head bleeding and was transported via ambulance to nova fairfax county hospital. My daughter was transported via ambulance to washington hospital trauma center. I went to washington hospital center er but was unable to stay and went to kaiser permanente urgent care once my daughter was discharged from the trauma side of the hospital that night. Geico has determined that the truck is a totally lost and that the damages thus far have exceeded $30,000 but waiting on final approvals of numbers. We do have a police report. To answer the question above. The airbags failed to deploy in the accident. We could have died. My husband had to get staples in his head and disk are messed up in his back. There where no warnings on the dash board before the crash. The vehicle has been inspected by the insurance company and the police on the scene.

We need to sell this vehicle, which our company can not do with an open recall on it - the auction company will not allow it. I called gene messer chevy and spoke with keith & was told they can not repair yet as recall was listed in Feb, this is affecting our ability to dispose of vehicle in timely manner. My company is agrisompo north America and the vehicle is located at our lubbock texas office.

I was involved in a 40 mph frontal impact collision with another vehicle. The initial impact occurred on the driver side front corner of the vehicle. During the initial collision me head swung sideway striking the b post window area and knocked me unconscious for a short time. I then t-boned a truck and finally came to rest against another vehicle. At no time did my airbags (front or side) deploy. Nor has my vehicle even registered that I was involved in a collision. I required medical attention and was transport to the hospital. After examination and scanning/xrays, etc. I had received a concussion. I have the police report as well as more pictures if required. The impact was strong enough to bend the frame on my vehicle.

I called my local glen smith chevy dealer to get my air bag repaired after receiving notice in the mail that they had them. They told me they didn't have them and didn't know when they would be available. I called the chevy consumer number and got the same answer. This is the same run around ive been getting for several years while I'm driving a car that could potentially hurt or kill the passenger in the car. . . . Why did this get sent out if thisdealers wont repair them?.

I have been notified of a dangerous airbag recall on my 2013 Suburban. The parts are not available to fix the issue at this time. This is unacceptable. My vehicle is not safe to drive. Chevy is not returning our phone calls. Apparently it is ok with them for me to drive my family around with what is equivalent to a hand grenade in my glove box.

I am still waiting for this recall to be fixed. Why is this taking so long? every time I drive this vehicle, it is a danger for my passenger due to the defective airbag. It almost seems to me that maybe this is a stall tactic so there will be less of a cost for the repairs due to the less vehicles still on the road. Just my opinion. I received a safety recall for my Suburban in 2021. I contacted the dealership and have been waiting for 1 year to get a call back from Chevrolet dealership so that they can proceed with the passenger airbag repair “safety recall”.

I have three gm vehicles with this same recall notice (#49151) from July of 2016. To this day I keep being told the remedy is not yet available. What should be my expectation for resolution? fortunately there has not been a problem.

My vehicle has not had the airbags replaced and I want to know when that can be accomplished now that gm has agreed to pay for the repairs.

I saw a red sturdy signal on the dashboard that states, "service airbag soon. " then, saw cnn news of the recall and 17 deaths. Can I have my airbag examined and fixed?.

Took a left turn while driving, heard a small noise and with in one minute of going down the road after my turn, my engine was a rough idle, engine light blinking and traction control was blinking. Had it towed to the closest chevy dealership to find out that the lifters were bad and causing misfire. That's a common problem for this engine and the replacement cost should not be on the consumer, there should be a recall for this costly repair!.

I'm writing this complaint because gm has yet to issue a solution for the recall on the airbags. When will gm issue the fix, with all these new recalls coming out on the takata air bags I am deeply concerned with why this issue hasn't been addressed with my vehicle.
