3 Air Conditioner problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 06/22/2020

2015-2017 chevy Suburban, cracked combination transmission fluid oil and ac condenser coolers. These vehicles have a common condition where thermal cycling on the combination transmission fluid oil and ac condenser coolers can create a crack, allowing ac refrigerant to escape and subsequently deactivating the vehicle's air conditioning system which could impact transmission, which could be potential safety hazard if occurred while driving, in which case has happened to our vehicle while it was being operated on highway at speed of 70 mph. Per gm, the warranty for this condition was extended to five (5) years or 60,000 miles, however for most vehicles the warranty went into effect a year before some vehicles may have been sold, in our case it was activated in 4/2019. This being a common issue with this vehicle, gm has never issued a specific recall to address the problem. How can I request this matter be investigated and a recall issued to address the problem.

4 Air Conditioner problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 06/09/2020

The air conditioner has stopped working and blow hot air. I've noticed there are several complaints regarding the air compressor and hoses on this vehicle but no recall has yet been made. We have to refill using refrigerant and it only lasts a few weeks and then blows hot air again. It doesn't matter it it's moving, stationary or where the vehicle is.

Air conditioner failure. Leak causing all refrigerant to leak out. Apparently, this is a common problem for this model and year. Car has 49k miles and is out of warranty on miles even though it is less than 3 years old. Just leaked out rapidly. Blowing hot air. Not really driveable with 3 children.

7 Air Conditioner problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 11/21/2018

Air conditioner went out unexpectedly this week. Front seat usb charging ports went out as well. A few days later I attempted to stop the car by breaking but the brakes would not engage. The pedal felt very hard as if pressure was acting against the cars ability to brake and stop. I had to push down with all my force to keep the car from crashing into another car on 1-95 in florida. This occurred on November 21st. I was able to manage to get the car back home after traveling for the holiday but the brake failure occurred a dozen more times on both the interstate, surface roads and parking lots by the time we got the car home. The brake assist notification also showed up on the display panel. My family could have been seriously injured or killed! this car is only 3 years old and is not driven that frequently. No reason I should be having these issues. Dealer thinks it is the vacuum pump. Having diagnosed.

10 Air Conditioner problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 01/12/2018

Just a week ago we started experiencing problems with the brakes on our 2015 Chevrolet Suburban and now today the air conditioner stopped working. I'm a mother of three, one of them just turned one year old; we love in miami, FL, where air conditioner is not a luxury but a necessity. We changed from an eupean SUV to an american SUV that is just two years old, I don't understand how can it be having several issues. Chevrolet needs to be held accountable for these reoccurring issues affecting numerous consumers.

11 Air Conditioner problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 08/28/2017

The air conditioner stopped blowing cold air and upon review by the dealer the condenser needs to be replaced. How does a vehicle that is only 2 yrs old and never been in an accident have a hole in the condenser? this is ridiculous and is very dangerous during periods of extreme heat. I purchased a newer vehicle to avoid issues and repairs such as this. The ac does not work whether the car is in motion or stationary.

Failure Date: 06/06/2017

The air conditioner went out on my Suburban in early June. I am still waiting for the part that is on back order. It gets very hot in the summer in my state and is concerning to me and my children. Failure Date: 05/10/2017

At 66,000 miles the air conditioner quit working. I took it to the dealer where they found the condenser had a leak and was told that there is a massive backorder on the parts needed to make the repair. They found 4 parts in wisconsin but they would not sell them because they too had a local demand and needed 50 for these same repairs. This is not covered under any warranty. We own a 2007 yukonxl and have never had an issue with the a/c.

18 Air Conditioner problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Suburban

Failure Date: 05/24/2005

An internal mechanical failure within the air conditioner's compressor caused the catastrophic failure of the ac unit. This ocurred at approximately 46000 miles. A hose attached to the compressor completely blew off the vehicle, disseminating a white cloud and freon on the vehicles directly behind me on the highway. Chevrolet charged $1700 to repair the ac unit, since the vehicle was outside of the warranty. I have spoken with two other people who have identical incidents.

Consumer writes in regards to gm customers and passengers that use vehicle air conditioning have been contaminated and/or poisoned. The consumer stated gm developed an after-blow retrofit kit to remove excess water from the a/c evaporator core. The consumer stated in December 2002, he was in the vehicle with his wife, when he turned on the heater, the air had musty odor and he began having trouble breathing. He turned off the heater and opened the windows. They stopped a t a local Chevrolet dealer and inquired about the odor, and they were told it was a design defect of hvac system. The ac evaporator core did not allow water to dissipate/evaporate and microbial growth could occur within 24 to 48 hours. The consumer stated the defect made his entire family sick.
