1. Sunroof 2. Driving on 81 n slightly past the middlesex exit at highway speeds. My 4 minor children and I heard what sounded like a large balloon popping inside my car. Upon further inspection, my sunroof spontaneously exploded. Absolutely nothing hit our car. The more research I’m doing, this is a known issue with gm manufactures and they have done nothing to correct this issue. 3. I’m working on getting a repair scheduled, once we figure out if it’s under warranty or we have to pay for it through insurance. 4. No warnings.

The glass of the front movable sun roof shattered. The glass shattered while driving on hwy 89 in wyoming with no traffic or no identifiable reason for the event. While some glass was saved most of it blew out when is shattered. The problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by the dealer. The dealer blames a flying rock or other object impacting the glass even though no vehicles or source of incident impact was perceived. No one was interested in taking a report. There was a build up of pressure inside the vehicle prior to the blow out of the glass which caused the drivers ear's to pop when the sun roof blew. The remaining glass was visibly pushed upwards away from the vehicle. A picture is available.
The sound in the vehicle goes silent and I'm not able to verify audibly that my turn signals are working or not. Which has led to a couple of near misses while in traffic. Power has been cycled and the call hang up botton has been depressed to soft reset the system and it still isn't working.

While driving down the high way with the check engine light on, a message appeared on the screen and said “unable to shift soon. Service transmission immediately. ” after driving a few more miles the vehicle shifted to neutral, and then as soon as I got on the shoulder of the highway and slowed to approximately 5 mph, the vehicles wheels locked up and the car jerked aggressively into park. This exact issue has occurred multiple times while driving. It is unsafe to drive the vehicle.

The panel said “ service esc” “ service traction control” and “ forward collision system unavailable” the Chevrolet light logo on the back of my car will also not turn off occasionally whenever the car is turned off.

Sun roof has leaked. The sun roof leaked a considerable amount of water and it came through the head liner around the ceiling mounted control panel as well as the back of the car. This is the second time it has happened and I have been told it is not covered under warranty. Through online blogs and forums I have found that this is a common issue with 2021 and newer tahoes and Suburbans. And that is a reoccurring problem that is commonly not fixed properly by the dealers this causes a safety and health issue as well as an unacceptable vehicle defect. 1. ) from a safety standpoint, if I am driving down the highway and a large amount of water starts pouring out of the headliner on the driver it causes a major distraction that could lead to high speed accident. 2. ) from a health issue, regular water leaks could lead to vehicle mold and water damage. I have children, if they become susceptible to the mold it could cause health issues for me or my children. 3. ) the water that pours out of the ceiling lands on the dash electronics which could lead to more vehicle issues by damaging electronic controls. It is my opinion that this is a major vehicle defect and something should be done by the manufacturer to correct it. I have made a complaint to the chevy customer service under reference #890 780 85.
Transmission, got a message stating the service transmission or won’t be able to shift. Took it in to the dealership was advised that car can shut down at any moment. As that what they have been seeing.
My 2022 Chevrolet Suburban 6. 2l, approximately 96,000 miles. Vehicle was taken to dealership for transmission warning message and returned as “repaired” with a software update. The following day, February 12th, while driving at highway speed on the expressway, the vehicle suddenly lost power without warning. A message appeared instructing me to press start, and the vehicle shifted into neutral and stalled. No warning lights were illuminated prior to the stall. This created a serious safety risk due to sudden loss of power at highway speed.
My 2016 transmission was jerking, shuddering, vibrating, ruff shifting and stopped moving in traffic. My safety was at risk, I turned off a major boulevard onto a neighborhood street, my SUV stopped shifting and stopped, I had to contact my son to come to help to push by hands out of traffic.

The 2026 Suburban has a loud wind noise coming from the driver window and door side and the passenger side . The wind noise in abnormal and very high and it could be the weatherstripping and the door stripping and latch because the driver door needs a hard push to close completely but there is wind noise coming from the driver and passenger windows and doors . This create a safety issue that the doors if not sealed properly and the could open while driving on the highway . Also for a vehicle that has a price tag of 100,000 dollars the door seals and window seals should work up to standard and not be loose or defective and cause a very high wind noise . The safety issue is the driver door or passenger door can open while driving and cause an accident . This is a manufacturing defect that gm needs to address urgently.
Sun roof exploded while driving. Temps were not extreme, there were no significant pressure changes. Sun roof had no prior damage. Looking online multiple people reported the sun roof exploding on 2023 tahoes and Suburbans.
“service safety restraint system” light came on. I feel this is a defect and a serious concern. I’ve seen where others are experiencing the same issue. I bought this vehicle specifically because I wanted to a safe vehicle to drive my 4 children around in.
My rear passenger door flys open while driving. It happens during very cold weather. It also will not latch when trying to shut it after getting off the road and trying to shut it. My daughter has been in the seat next to the door each time and it has happened multiple times. Betten Chevrolet has tried to fix it twice and it is currently in their shop. This is totally unsafe!.

My vehicle is having an oil consumption problem. 2 quarts were missing from my oils consumption test. The dealer is now doing a secondary oil consumption test and I’ve read up and learned that there have been a lot of recalls with the engine and oils changes.
The dashboard in 2007-2014 gm trucks and subs break apart. These can shatter when in an accident. There is insufficient bracing and supports to keep the dashboards from cracking and coming apart in pieces. Only remedy is to replace the dashboard or get an aftermarket cap that may or may not hold during an accident. Especially when the airbags is deployed.

I hadn’t had my car a year and my solenoid in my transmission is in need of replacement. The SUV will not pick up speed above 40.
I was driving and then the vehicle started running rough. There was no indication or warning lights before this happened. This is a huge safety issue because I could have had a wreck and injured people and my very own family. I took it to a chevy dealership. They inspected the Suburban and number 4 cylinder had a pool of oil in it. And they told me it need a new engine. Which it has the l87 engine that all the gm recalls are on. However, they are telling me mine isn't on the recall. They don't know if gm is going to cover it because it has 111,000 miles and it's out of the power train. It's the same engine they're having trouble with engines failures on. And I believe mine should be under the recall.
The transmission is not shifting appropriately from 2nd to 3rd 3rd to 4th. There is a huge whining noise when it reaches the end before shifts. There is known issues in the 2020 Suburban and this vehicle was never recalled for similar issues.
When driving making a left or right hand turn my 2023 Suburban loose power and turns off and it is thrown in n and state to press start to restart my SUV. No codes are given to determine the issue. This has happen a handful of times. It has been taken into chevy and they are unable to diagnose the problem. During the one visit they stated it was the battery and replace it and it has done it again. This is a very unsafe to drive the SUV as I'm afraid someone will rear end me and hurt me or someone else.
Onstar module not working, 53000 miles on 23 Suburban. Will be taking it to the dealership this next week. No other issues except for that.
On star telematics control module is not working.
My vehicle completely shuts off while driving. All of the components on the dash and even my steering wheel moves into the prestarted vehicle position. It has happened 3 times in the past week now. One particular instance, I was on the highway and thankfully it came back on immediately before completely stopping but shutting off while driving 65mph is so dangerous.
The contact owns a 2003 Chevrolet Suburban. The contact stated that while driving at 40 mph, the contact noticed the trailer attached was moving from left to right independently, and the trailer detached from his vehicle. The contact mentioned that he lost control of the vehicle into a parallel position when another vehicle collided with his vehicle on the front left driver side, causing the contact to get t-boned. The contact stated that he sustained three fracture injuries to his spine, three fractured ribs, bruise on his kidney. Medical attention was required. The contact stated that a police report was filed. The contact stated that the failure was not diagnosed by a dealer or independent mechanic. The contact mentioned that both the trailer and vehicle were towed to a lot. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 150,000.

No official incident has happened yet, but the brake assist kicks in, yet does not work until it's revving engine to over 4000rpm, which causes a sudden jerk and scary sounds from engine. I have had a few instances where the vehicle did not want to stop almost causing an accident, and these have happened without anything in the car other than my daughter who is 2 and myself. The most recent problem is a weird rattling sound while going uphill. Before this going uphill is extremely sluggish, where I have the gas peddle almost to the floor, but nothing happens other than decrease in speed until it finally, about 30 seconds-1 minute, where it kicks into overdrive. Even then, speed does not increase by more than 5-10 mph depending on the incline. I have not brought it to get looked at yet, as I've seen these issues have been reported by numerous consumers without any recalls being sent out other than the breaking system update.
My onstar system is not working properly. I first noticed the forward collision light then the wifi hotspot features not working. Reached out to onstar they couldn’t help then referred to dealership. Visited dealership 8/12/2025 was told there’s no error code although they see what’s happening. Doing further investigation of my own I found out this is a very well known issue amongst general motors, onstar and the dealerships selling these vehicles. There are varying issues customers are having from wifi not working to vehicles completely shutting down in traffic. Once my visit to the dealership commenced I was informed the telematic control module” is on back order with no estimate on deliveries as there’s “others waiting also” this is a scary situation. I am worried that my issue is going to progress into a bigger problem. I drive 23 miles to work and 23 back. I am scared that my module will eventually fail when I am on the highway…. . This is terrifying! over 80k to play roulette.
There is an issue with the transmission when I accelerate at a slow pace. The car shakes and vibrates. Theres a possibility of an issue with the transfer case 4x4. When I turn the steering wheel and drive, it feels like it locks. It feels like 4x4 is on and theres a odd sound as well. I took my car to hamilton Chevrolet and paid for inspection. They told me that there was no issue, but the issues I mentioned earlier in this message was mentioned to them. Those issues are still occurring. This is a recall issue but when I put my VIN number in, my car shows that there is no recall on it. There was many people who mentioned this problem.
Coolant control valve went out and causing car to get hot and lose power. Service department said it’s on back order and it’s fine to drive it.
Still, I don’t have a registration.
I’m filing this complaint regarding a serious safety concern with my 2023 Chevrolet Suburban. The vehicle is affected by NHTSA recall 25v274 related to a potential defect in the crankshaft or connecting rods. Gm has confirmed the recall, but there is currently no fix available, and dealerships are not equipped to inspect the engine to determine if it’s defective. This leaves us driving a vehicle with a known risk of sudden engine failure, especially at highway speeds or while towing. In addition, my vehicle is also experiencing a transmission issues and is expected to be in the shop for up to three months for repairs. The combination of an unresolved engine recall and a failing transmission makes this vehicle unsafe and unreliable. We are a family of six with four small children (two in car seats, two in boosters). We purchased this Suburban specifically for safety, towing capacity, and long-distance driving. Right now, we are left without a safe or functional vehicle. Gm refuses to provide a comparable rental and has offered only $44/day, which doesn’t cover anything close to what we need. We’ve attempted to work through gm and our local dealership to resolve the issue, but we’ve been passed back and forth with no solution. I’m concerned that gm is knowingly allowing vehicles with unresolved safety defects to remain on the road with families inside them. I’m asking NHTSA to investigate the handling of this recall and the delays in the transmission repair that are putting families like mine at risk.
I pulled into a parking spot and the car died right before I shut it off. I came out and restarted it to leave and it backed up about 5 feet and died and would never start again. There was never any prior indication that it had any problems. I bought it new and always had a chevy dealer do the required maintenance. I was told today that it would need a new engine because the engine has seized up; however, until they do a full tear down of the engine, they said they cannot tell me exactly what has cause the problem. I have heard of others having problems with the 6. 2 engine so I thought I would report it. I don't have any paperwork yet from the dealer to upload.
When driving down the road, all gauges drop to 0, car continues to drive. When I pull over and try to turn the car off it turns everything off except the engine. I can’t put it into gear or restart the car. Battery has to be unplugged to get it to turn off. All lights will start flash across the dash. Service air bags, service trailer brake, service side detection, etc.
