I was sold a vehicle from a dealership in green bay wisconsin under the impression all safety regulations were met. The day I drove it off the lot, I had issues with the back drivers' door, making wind noise. I had messaged the salesman, he stated it may have been the door seal. Days went by, it wasn't sitting well with me, I made an appointment with a local body shop in. Regard's to the door and suspicion of something not right. I brought it to the body shop, they informed me, that the back air bags were deployed and stuffed back into the roof, body work on the left side was done incorrectly and is very unsafe to drive, seat belts where my children sit were finger tightened, frame is held on by a bolt etc. The body shop states that if this vehicle were to be in an accident, it would not sustain impact the way vehicles are designed to do so. The owner of the dealership I had bought from refuses to come to an agreement about this situation. I have all the paperwork and documents from the body shop along with another local dealership near me who I also brought it to look it over as well so the owner could understand that this vehicle should have never been able to be sold on his lot. They also agree that this is super unsafe and should not be driven until it is fixed properly and all safety standards should be met. They believe that it should have been totaled out, it is very obvious that the left side was hit and smashed in. I also asked the owner if he would feel safe for his children to drive in this vehicle and he said, “no” I have many documents/pictures/reports to share once needed.

Vehicle is reporting code for bad torque converter at 95,388 miles. Mechanic estimates repair is $5318 and car jumps at acceleration and shudders at lower speeds.

My Suburban's dashboard has a crack that extends now to the edge of the airbag compartment door, with a piece now missing and what appears to be something like an airbag visible. I am concerned the airbag will not deploy correctly if / when it is needed. I have called a certified Chevrolet dealer/ repair garage who said this is not an issue listed under Chevrolet's recall, although I have seen numerous other customers express similar concerns and issues as mine. I purchased this car at carzone in riverside this April 2024. I drove home with my kids in the dark and people kept honking. The lights and turn signals did not work. I took the car back in. The back up camera was broken, the safety system is broken, brakes are bad, they put two bald and all four tires with gummy plugs after I brought it back a fourth time. The tires were not fixed. I found out driving on the highway with my daughter. My tires popped. I had to pay for all four to be replaced and the dealership will not take any of my calls. I then had a check oil light. I took the car in. Pep boys discovered they had replaced the oil hose with a different one. It backed up into the engine. I paid for an oil change and was told to keep an eye on it and contact the dealership. They would not respond. I went back to pep boys be my car was completely out of oil one week later and my headlights kept dying and the car wont excellerate. They did another diagnostic and contacted the dealership and warrenty saying it needs a new engine entirely. They sent an adjuster who said nothing was wrong and closed it. I have had to take the car back since. The lifegate is zip tied to the tail pipe. I am terrified to drive this car, espcially the head light and brakes. I bought new tires bc the delaership would not help even though I have all the text messages they sent about the issues. It no longer accelerates the way it should and I have to put three quarts of oil minimum per week to keep it runnung at all. I am out so much money that I do not have and I cant drive an unsafe car with my babies in it. Upon further investigation I have found this dealership has done this to many people. I just need help getting them to take this car back or pay to fix it and to make sure they are following safety laws. I feel responsible to report this because I know I wish someone else had and it would be absolutely devestating if someone got injured in a vehicle sold by them.

I bought this vehicle in January 2019 . I had to have the ac worked on in April 2021. I was advised that the year 2017 had a recall on the same is mine is having… now in 2024 my ac has to be fixed again for the same thing … this is not a cheap fix. It should be under a recall . . Please if u can help in any way I would very much appreciate it. . Thank u.

Seat, mirror, steering column pre-set driver adjustments do not come into proper driving configuration on a regular basis when starting vehicle. This is a dangerous situation when a malfunction does occur. Seat has tendency to squeeze driver torso into steering column and knees into dash. Lh mirror inadvertently and unexpectedly tilts down toward the ground and ofter unnoticed. This makes for a dangerous condition where the driver assumes that there is no oncoming rear traffic and it's safe to pull away from a curb from a stopped position. This condition has occurred for over a year and while the vehicle was covered under factory warranty. Numerous trips to bonner Chevrolet in kingston service department for remedy have yielded nothing. Bonner Chevrolet walked away from this serious issue and told us there's nothing more they can do and said, sorry. In contact with Chevrolet through chat messaging, the recommend other surrounding dealers. None are interested at this point. The chat messaging is as useless as bonner Chevrolet. Meanwhile I'm driving and paying for a useless and dangerous vehicle which no one knows how to repair. This has been an ongoing event since June, 2023.

The vehicle has exterior side mirrors that fold in. Once folded in the driverside mirror can be powered back out, but the passager side does not. This makes it unsafe to change lanes and identify a vehicle in your blind spot. This malfunction has happen several times on this vehicle. Prior to this vehicle had another 2013 Suburban that the same malfunction occurred on. What are the odds of the same malfunction occurring on two seperate vehicles. The vehicle is currently at a mechanic shop that I have asked to check this out. Without this mirror it is unsafe to drive on a multi-lane freeway where changing lanes is necessary.

The car turned itself off while driving 55 to 60 mph on a highway. Would not turn back on after getting to the side of the road. Very dangerous.

Unknown: approximately once a week, all of the sound stops in the vehicle including the blinker sound, radio & connected phones. I'm unsure if affects anything else. I have googled this issue and it seems as if other gm vehicle owners have the same issue. There were no warnings or warning lights.

The first problem that happened with the 2017 Chevrolet Suburban was we were driving and the 1 of 2 brake boosters gave out. We had to contact with customer service of Chevrolet of informed them about what happened. We took the vehicle to a local dealership to have fixed, then after that we started to have problems with the transmission, fuel pump and the air ride. With the transmission/electrical system you would be driving down the road, the next thing that you will know is that the door locks will lock then unlock, then the vehicle will would let a big amount of smoke out of the vehicle, and then the vehicle would power down to 20mph. You would have to drive 20 for 5 miles until the vehicle would quit and you could drive normal. I was going to go for my mandatory user maintenance and I did not get 2 miles out of town and the transmission went out of the vehicle.

Had an issue where the left/right turn signals stopped functioning. This occurred while in-use while waiting to make a turn. Shutting the car on and off did not correct the problem. Contacted dealer and advised to bring in. I chose to disconnect the battery rebooting the vehicles bom. Issue resolved after a vehicle reboot. This is a serious software issue.

I drove a 2019 Ford explorer with Ford sync, which integrated well with my android phone to allow handsfree access to google maps or waze for navigation, voice control of my phone for speech-to-text, simple google queries, like "who wrote the song american pie," etcetera. Steering wheel controls could also be used to make or disconnect phone calls. It was a very safe, efficient, satisfying, hands-free driving experience provided at no-cost. Unfortunately, I traded that vehicle in on a 2023 chevy Suburban, which has an android auto based infotainment system. This system can be safe and efficient, but only if you pay a subscription. Otherwise, it is very unsafe. Things that won't work without a subscription include: "hey google" voice commands, steering wheel phone controls, instrument cluster road speed display. There are workarounds for some of these items, such as pressing the microphone icon in the infotainment center to initiate voice commands, but these workarounds require the driver to take their attention away from driving.

Had an issue where the main front digital cluster went black upon a start-up and drive. No speedometer, engine status, gear status or anything. Shutting the car on and off did not correct the problem. Contacted dealer and advised to bring in. I chose to disconnect the battery rebooting the vehicles bom. Issue resolved after a vehicle reboot. This is a serious software issue.

The factory exterior paint is failing. Most notable on the hood, roof and back passenger side lower quarter panel area. I just got an estimate to just repaint the hood through the dealership and it was over $3,000. 00 (estimate attached) and ballpark estimate to repaint the entire car was around $10,000. 000. They indicated that they were not aware of any factory recalls for the failing paint. I've heard that other car owners have experienced the same issue.

The dash has cracked in several spots and makes loud vibrating noises and I’m worried with one crack being near air bag that air bag will not work correctly or dash will have projectile pieces that may impel into a person if the airbag deploys.

Transmisión.

Driving the vehicle on an interstate highway with the flow of traffic at 70 mph, without warning the engine shut off. This caused loss of speed and loss of power steering, almost causing me to be hit in the rear end twice at highway speeds. There were no warning lights or any instrument indication prior to the failure. After barely being able to get the vehicle into the brakedown lane, the vehicle would not restart. The electronics all worked, there were no warnings or indicator lights but the engine would not start despite multiple attempts by myself and the tow truck driver. The vehicle is currently at the dealership being diagnosed.

On star module failure. The module controls many different safety features and it has failed and has been on a backorder for months creating a safety issue every day.

I am experiencing the symptoms listed for the ignition coil recall listed 20011 Suburban, but the recall is not on my VIN. I've been experiencing the symptoms for quite some time now yrs even, but didn't know about the ignition recall. I've been replacing and fixing the parts and damage to the vehicle. Fortunately no accidents or injuries to report. I am currently experiencing my door locks cycling , brief losses of power while vehicle is in drive, on highway, my electrical components periodically work seat warmer, sensors oil, air, coil packs, cooling fans (the relays keeps burning out), ac motor, water pump, cruise control, the main fuse, and 4 x4 engaging on its own.

I have a 2008 Suburban. Beginning in August, there was an accident on the highway and traffic was backed up. I was idling, waiting for the traffic to move, like every other car on the hightway and the Suburban just shut off and said "stablitrak off. " it happened numerous times after this, just when idling. I took to the dealership I bought it at. They charged a ton to fix something but it didn't' take care of the problem. It's gotten so much worse. I took back a few months ago and they fixed it again, but didn't charge us this time. Now it's so much worse. Anytime I'm iding, just picking my daughter up at school or just stopped at a red light, a warning comes across, "service stabilitrak" or "stablitrak off. " and the car immediately shuts off. It usually restarts in 5 minutes or so and I can usually make it to my destination as long as I don't idle again. Monday I was picking up my daughter and it stalled in the parking lot at her high school with tons of cars behind me- I waited, restarted it as I have done in the past. But then, going down this steep high school hill, the car shut off, lost steering and brakes wouldn't even work. I had teen drivers ahead of me that I nearly crashed into, teens in my car. This is not ok. We took it back to the dealership and now they say it's an electrical problem. I've read a ton online forums that this is something that happens with a lot of other people. I'm afraid to drive my car. I'm also not sure what to get fixed because these other people have spent tons of money, just like me with no results.

M y dash panel has had a small crack for years but the entire passenger air bag section lifted this morning. The dash panel is jagged and unsafe.

The ignition key is falling out of the ignition when it is in the run position similar to other vehicles that were recalled. I am concerned that we will not be able to turn off the engine in an emergency. We are also having problems with one of the seatbelts not latching.

While driving the Suburban in the early morning of Sunday, March 26, our Suburban's started on fire from under the front hood. The fire quickly engulfed the entire vehicle within minutes, destroying everything inside of it.

The vehicle will display “service trailer braking system,” as well as “service front camera,” “service driver assist system. ” these messages along with audible alerts will sound while driving. At random intervals, the forward collision system will also activate with no objects in sight. This causes the driver to become distracted or react quickly in unnecessary manner. This can increase risk of collision when the driver becomes distracted. The vehicle has been taken to Chevrolet multiple times and we have been told a faulty wiring harness is the cause. We own two of these vehicles, same make, model and year. This has happened in both vehicles.

Purchased my 2016 Suburban on 1/14/23 and since it has been “service trailer brake” distracting me from driving . The service chime stops me from listening to music , my turn signals , constantly making me look down . I drove around in total for 4 hours throughout my day and non stop. I’ve contacted the dealership and told me to wait till the end of the week.

Severe crackin of dashboard in multiple places. Poses a risk to passengers in the event of a collision.

On approximately December 23, 2022, I notice that the uv protection coating on the hood and roof of my SUV is no longer protecting these areas of my vehicle. Which I am now concerned could lead to rusting on my 2018 SUV. I reported this issue after seeing many complaints on the web for the same problem by vehicle owners. A Chevrolet dealer mechanic also informed me of customers voicing my concern about the uv-protecting coating issue. I'm worried this issue will continue and affect the painting of my entire vehicle.

"service safety restraint system" message will often and randomly display, stay illuminated for random lengths of time, and then clear. Dealer service centers are not taking the random/intermittent fault of the safety restraint system seriously. Passengers are at risk (unknow severity, assume the worst) due to a faulty safety restraint system.

Electrical: noticed a few months ago that the lane assistance/departure and blind spot warning work off and on. At times the blind spot warning does not warn and will when there is nothing there. Lane assistance and departure have the same issue. Transmission: gears slipping. I am not a mechanic but there were no telltale signs until it just went out on me while driving with my children in the car! the only thing I noticed in several months prior was that the vehicle would shake as if you were running over the paved warning bumps on the side of the freeway. I just thought it was possibly the road or I needed new tires. I got new tires, problem still persists. When the gears slipped while I was on the highway it took about 15 seconds to engage at which time I removed myself and my children from being a traffic hazard. I checked the transmission oil - which I just did two weeks ago because I knew it was time to change the oil for the transmission - this time it had a very defined burnt smell and black in color.

Multiple time the full safety camera system has failed. The front rear and 360 degree view camera have intermittently failed multiple times. Restarting the vehicle has had no effect on restoring functionality of the very vital rear back up camera, front camera, parking and pedestrian sensors. This is a random occurrence, has happened at least 5 separate occasions since purchase, and occurs intermittently. Date is the last time this issue occurred.

Dash cracked and cruise control wont turn on when button pushed.

- unknown what system or component failed? - while awaiting to make a left turn from left turn lane with two vehicles in front and unknown number of vehicles behind me, vehicle suddenly shut off - problem has not been reproduced or confirmed by dealer, nor has shut off re-occurred since first incident October 26, 2022 - vehicle or component has not been inspected by others - there were no warning lamps, messages, or other symptoms prior to the failure on October 26, 2022, the vehicle just seemed to quietly idle down and stop.

9/29/22 (123k miles) technician: - test drove vehicle, inspected transmission operation & found gear train noise / l3, in approximately 1st through 3rd gears. Tach was jumping up to about 200 rpms when converter locked up and then would go back down. Monitored on scanner and found converter slipping in and out of lock up. - scanned computer control modules & found no codes. - inspected transmission fluid level & condition, found transmission fluid was full and red, note; customer noted fluid was changed recently and was dark and burnt with metal shavings in it during the change. (photo of metal shavings). - inspected exterior of transmission for leaks & damage, found no leaks or damage. - determined there is a lack of lockup pressure or hydraulic pressure and internal damage to the transmission assembly. - recommends replacing the transmission assembly with a unit with an improved torque converter. (we replace).
