Chevrolet Suburban owners have reported 5 problems related to rearview mirror (under the visibility category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
The left driver's side exterior mirror is restricted in its upward movement and will not move high enough to enable safe viewing of the blind side on the left of the car. The mirror is obstructed by the frame of the mirror assembly so it won't pivot into the frame to give a higher view.

The outside temp reader located in the rearview mirror has read 140 degrees for almost 2 years. Repairs were attempted, but unsuccessful. I feel it is a safety issue during the winter. . . I travel with my 2 children over many dangerous mountain passes and the "ice" reading would be nice.

Auto dimming for the rear view mirrors has become defective, and it doesn't dim the mirrors anymore. With no manual way to dim your rear view mirror this makes driving at night very dangerous at times. I took it to the dealer to get it fixed and they wanted $500 saying that the rear view mirror needed replaced. I feel that the replacement price is too exorbitant, and because of that it hasn't been replaced. It seems like they should put a manual flip switch on the mirror as a back-up in case the mirror would become defective like mine has.
