Windshield Wiper/washer Motor Problems of Chevrolet Suburban - part 2

Windshield wipers would not work when turned on in rain storm. Has to stop on hwy. After a few minutes they worked for several hours. Next time started vehicle wiper and washers would not work. Checked again a few miles later and both worked. This happened several time during a three day trip.

Windshield wipers would stop suddenly. I would have to get off the road shut car off, then ait 5-10 minutes before wipers will work again.

Windshield wipers quit working during a strong storm on I-75. Luckily I was able to get over to the right lane and pull off the road. . . A buzzing noise was coming from a black motor casing, so I tapped it and the wipers began to work again. This has happen on numerous occasions. The car is dangerous to drive in the rain.

The windshield wipers worked intermittently, at times when consumer went to turn the wipers off, they remained on.

Whenever windshield wipers are in use they would work intermittently. This causes visibility to very poor. Had contacted dealership for help, and was not able to provide it due to a lack of parts for windshield wipers.

This vehicle is experiencing indentical problems as in recall# 8704 98v150000. Windshield wipers intermittently operate, reducing driver's visibilty, and increasing risk of crash. Manufacturer has advised consumer that this vehicle was not part of recall issused, and will not cover expense for repair. The manufacturer was willing to cover part cost for circuit board inside the wiper motor but dealer wants the consumer to pay for labor.

Was driving in the rain & using windshield wipers, when they suddenly stopped working. Later, they came back on & then stopped altogether. Took vehicle to dealership. Mechanic failed to look at wipers. Indicated no recall on vehicle. Took vehicle to private mechanic & was informed a problem with the solder joint in wiper & it was replaced.

Windshield wiper worked intermittently. The dealer replaced the wiper pulse board and said it was doing the same thing the pulse boards did that were recalled. But the recall was for cars 94 to 5-96, my car was made in 8-96 and was not under the recall. I spoke with Chevrolet at 1-800-222-1020 claim # 990317773 and was told due to the age and milage of my car they would not cover it. This car is newer than the cars they recalled and has the same problem. Additional recalls need to be made on this part.

Windshield wipers intermittently failed during operation, causing poor visibility. There was recall 98 v15001; but, this vehicle was not included due to VIN. The windshield wiper motor was repaired before the consumer had accident.

Vehicle experienced the same defect as stated in recall 03 v 159 000, but it's model year and VIN number was not included.
