I own a 2001 chevy Tahoe, the heater blower will not turn off even after the key is out. I have had it into the shop 4 times now with dealers and they have replaced the heater control head and that didn't fix it, then they reprogrammed the computer twice but that didn't help, then they replaced the blower motor resistor and that still didn't fix the problem. I am extremely frustrated and sick of running up charges to fix something that even the dealers can't fix.

1999 Chevrolet 4x4 2 door Tahoe, corrosion and shorting of pin connections in high/low beam headlight dimmer switch. On going problem for 3 mo. Of headlight failure when operating at night. Found switch on steering assembly to have corrosion and indication of wires overheating due to excess heat. Turned on headlights and move connector wires at switch, headlights failed. Headlights also fail when steering column is tilted. Problem is due to poor contact of pin connections at switch due to corrotion in connection possible poor construction of connector. Arcing can be heard when connection on switch is moved. This is a very well maintained vehicle driven by my wife. I am a federal government employee with 30 years experince in automotive and equipment inspection, repair and rebuild with extensive knowledge in diognostics and use of tmde.
The wiring harness that conects to the turn signal modual, the wires become brittle and are breaking. The first wire to cause me a problem was the wire for the headlights, the headlights would flicker on and off untill the wire finaly broke and then there were no lights at all. The next wire that broke is the wire for the cruise control broke. And now there is no cruise control. The headlights I was able to reroute the wire and reconect to the light switch to powerup the relay with the switch. Not the right way too do it but it works. Also my vehicle has tilt steering wheel.

On 3/24/98 my 1997 Chevrolet tahou was 10 months old with 5400 miles on it when the truck caught fire under the driver's side dash while I was driving and was totally distroyed. When the fire started it was late on my way home from a movie with my wife . We smelled smoke and I stopped but couldn't find anything. We had gone a little distance when fire started falling at my feet, I ran off the road and hit some small trees to try to stop the truck then truned across the road and finilly hit a tree big enough to stop the truch. Where I got out and had to pull my wife out and called 911 on my cel phone. My wife had hit her head and was a littlle out of it and passed out on the ground. She passed out again just before the medics got there. The truck contenuied to burn untill the fire dept. Got there to put it out. Gm claims that there has not been any other claims of Chevrolet trucks catching fire from the dash in '97 or any other later year trucks and would not take any responcealility for the fire. If there are any other people who have had any thing like this please let me know. R. W. Parker.
