To whom it may concern, I am writing to express my absolute shock, extreme frustration, and profound distress regarding the catastrophic and recurring failures of the brand new $86,626. 50 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe rst we purchased from community Chevrolet (200 w olive Ave, burbank, CA 91502). We did not purchase a used, low-budget vehicle; we invested a life-altering sum of eighty-six thousand dollars in what we expected to be a safe, reliable family SUV. Instead, we have received a death trap that the dealership refuses to fix permanently. This vehicle is fundamentally unsafe to operate. We have brought it to your dealership four (4) times for the same critical safety issues, and each time, we receive the same insulting explanation: a "software update" or "recalibration. " these are not fixes; they are negligent bandaids designed to clear error codes long enough for us to drive off the lot. We are experiencing terrifying, random system failures while driving: "service esc" warning "forward collision system unavailable" "brake system failure 62mph top speed" let me be unequivocally clear: the braking system has failed twice while my wife and three young children were inside the vehicle, nearly resulting in fatal collisions on the freeway and city streets. This is not an inconvenience; this is a life-threatening defect that you have failed to remedy. The negligence displayed by returning this vehicle to us in an unsafe condition is staggering. The financial and personal toll is immense and completely unacceptable: we have paid for tow trucks three times. We have missed work, leading to a formal warning for my wife's employment. We have incurred costs for rental vehicles and arranging essential transportation for medical appointments and school runs. For $86,000, I expect a vehicle that adheres to basic safety guidelines, not one that endangers my family and others on the road. The vehicle had approximately 56,000 miles when these critical issues became severe, yet it is.

Vehicle taken into dealership for maintenance, after car received cars system software malfunctioned. Display screen went black and states "return to dealer. Failed update" due to this issue I don't have access to car settings with most features are unavailable. All warning chimes such as turn signals, park sensor warnings, lane departure warning are inoperable. Had drove miles with turn signal on causing traffic disruption on neighboring lanes.

As the owner of a 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe, I am currently experiencing persistent issues with the instrument cluster going dark and a severely malfunctioning gm 6. 2l l87 engine. In November of the previous year, I encountered a sudden and alarming loss of engine power while traveling on a multilane highway at a speed of 70 mph. I successfully maneuvered the vehicle to a narrow shoulder, where I remained, accompanied by a highway patrol officer, for over three hours until a tow truck arrived. The gm certified dealership informed me that the engine was seized. The mechanics were unable to start or manually turn the engine. Upon removal of the engine’s oil pan, they found metal fragments in the oil. After having undergone an engine recall “fix” three months earlier, which included an inspection and oil service change to a more viscous 0w - 40, a new oil filter, and a new filler cap; in November, my engine failed and was replaced with a new 6. 2l l87 engine. Initially, I was pleased with the repair, but I have since lost confidence that my car is safe after the new engine began exhibiting symptoms of a pending failure. The Tahoe hesitates on acceleration when merging with highway traffic, the engine dies when decelerating, the check engine light flashes at highway speeds, and the instrument cluster turns off at random. The vehicle that has been outfitted with a brand new engine is currently at the Chevrolet dealership; however, just like in August of 2025 during the recall inspection, the mechanics there were unable to find any problems with their work or the new engine. They simply erased the stored p0300 engine diagnostics codes and ignored my evidence video, which showed the check engine light blinking at highway speeds. Despite the repair attempts, the issues have not been resolved, and the vehicle continues to pose a safety hazard.

We were sitting in a parking lot with the engine running and heard an explosion in the vehicle. Later we discovered that the left rear, side curtain air bag had deployed. Horn has been inoperable for months cruise control hasn't worked in years steering wheel radio controls don't work. No appointment reason for any of it. Pass air bag off warning light red air bag light is usually on but not always.

While I was driving, my vehicle suddenly lost all power I encountered a misfire with the engine light flashing, and diagnostic codes p0353 and p0300 indicated a misfire on cylinder three. The coil pack and spark plugs for that cylinder were replaced, yet issues persist and problems continue. There is a strange popping and cracking noise coming from my dash. My brakes are also making it loud sound randomly when pressing on breaks yet brake pads are fine.

My 2025 Chevrolet Tahoe z71 3. 0l lzo duramax with approx. 3,380 miles experienced a sudden and complete engine failure while towing my camper on the interstate at night, in the rain, while traveling alone 375 miles from home. The vehicle lost power, displayed warnings, and became inoperable, forcing me onto the shoulder in unsafe conditions. The engine has been diagnosed as requiring full replacement due to a defective crank end play / thrust bearing, under technical service bulletin (TSB) 25-na-307. This is a significant safety concern for a new vehicle and could have caused a crash. Gm has multiple documented issues with this model year, and the car has also experienced unresolved infotainment defects, as outlined in TSB #pit6393f. Requesting NHTSA to investigate a potential safety defect.

They radio screen and radio navigation system. It will run batteries down replaced 2 batteries this year. Radio goes haywire changes channels, makes dinging sound, navigation goes off. Screen moves jumps changes volume. Hard to drive very distracting and navigation stops working. None of this will stop until the vehicle is turned off and generally on restart it starts back up. Makes for very unsafe driving distraction. It started about a year ago it would happen occasionally now it’s every time you start the vehicle and drive. The constant noise and movement is again unsafe distracting and disrupts driving and anyone trying to have a conversation in my vehicle. Very very unsafe….

I'm submitting this complaint regarding an ongoing electrical defect on my 2022 Chevrolet Tahoe. The vehicle has experienced repeated sudden battery drain & no-start events, occurring approximately once per week. These failures happen without warning, sometimes after the vehicle is parked for as little as 6 hrs. All dealer updates & software campaigns were completed. Despite this, the vehicle continued to suffer no-start events. After further troubleshooting, we removed fuse f35ra (which powers only the hands-free liftgate module). Once this fuse was removed, the issue immediately stopped — confirming that the parasitic draw originates from the liftgate module, consistent with gm technical service bulletin 24-na-039. This indicates a known electrical defect. This problem has caused multiple safety concerns: the vehicle has left my family stranded late at night. My husband works in chicago & relies on this vehicle. A sudden no-start or complete electrical failure in that environment is dangerous. We were unable to transport our children to scheduled activities due to the vehicle being completely dead. Repeated deep discharges are damaging the battery we purchased only months ago. A family vehicle shouldn't unpredictably become inoperative. This is not normal wear — it's a safety-critical electrical defect that could strand owners in unsafe conditions, especially in winter climates. Gm hasn't issued a recall for this issue despite issuing a TSB documenting the defective behavior. The frequency & severity of electrical failure suggest this should be investigated as a potential recall. I'm requesting NHTSA review this matter due to the safety implications & the repeated nature of the failures. Incidents: no-start after 6 hours parked at a friend’s home multiple weekly no-start events before fuse removal occurred before & after software updates were performed location: incidents occurred both at home & away from home. The contact stated that the service traction, service esc, and engine warning lights were illuminated. Upon research, the contact associated the failure with NHTSA action number: ea25007 (engine, engine and engine cooling). The vehicle was towed to the local dealer, where it was diagnosed, and dtc: p0300, p050d, and p0302 were retrieved. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the issue and offered to help with the cost of the repair. The approximate failure mileage was 64,572.

The contact owns a 2016 Chevrolet Tahoe. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, the vehicle intermittently lost motive power. The messages "service power train", "roll down driver side/ passenger side windows", along with several other unknown messages, were displayed on the instrument panel. On multiple occasions, my car has locked my keys on the inside of the vehicle. I have put things inside my vehicle before leaving and closed all the doors, upon returning, even just a few minutes later, my doors are locked and I am locked out of my vehicle. Additionally, my car is not detecting my remote. I cannot unlock my car with the buttons on the door and need to have my keys in hand for my car to detect the fob. Additionally, if someone opens the door while the car is running but in park, and then closes the door, the car will beep as if there is no longer a remote detected. This has happened on multiple occasions. I have changed the batteries in the fobs multiple times, switched out my fobs so I was using a different fob and it has happened with both of my fobs.

I purchased a 2023 chevy Tahoe in oct 2025. Since then, I have been trying to figure out how to set up the mychevrolet app. The onstar button doesn’t work so I called onstar. After multiple calls, they told me that the account is linked to the previous owner and can’t be transferred because of a faulty telematics communications module. The faulty module is also causing the clock to run slow, which indicates battery drain is beginning. The onstar module failure poses a huge safety and privacy risk. Safety concerns include battery failure that can cause me to be stranded and the fact that the previous owner has the ability to start my vehicle at any time, even while parked in my garage posing a risk to my family’s health/life with trapped carbon monoxide building up. Privacy concerns include the previous owners ability to track my vehicle, lock and unlock doors, access my contacts, call log, location, and more. This is a significant risk. The dealership should not have sold me a vehicle with a defective module without repairing it and now refuse to fix it. This should have been included in gms factory recall for 2023 Tahoe tcu’s or a new recall should be issued. Consumers should not bear the burden to fix a widely known safety, health, and privacy risk.

I recently purchased this vehicle about five months ago. I took it to riverside Chevrolet to get a diagnostic on it because my steering wheel is locked all the lights on the dashboard are on in the vehicle is not drivable almost a month and a half of riverside Chevrolet and they could not get a diagnostic on it. Apparently the technicians there were not able to figure out what’s wrong with it. The vehicle is not drivable and it is a safety hazard.

After my vehicle experienced a brake system failure 3 weeks ago and I got my vehicle back from the dealership. I noticed that my vehicle has no emergency brake so in the event of this failure and/or future brake system failures there was no way to stop my vehicle. Their emergency brake is technically a parking brake that can only be applied when the vehicle is completely stopped. I'm not sure how a vehicle this unsafe would be even legally sold or allowed to operate on the roads.

On several occasions while operating the vehicle during inclement weather the windshield wipers intermittently stopped working. Restarting the vehicle several times did not remedy the problem. Once the vehicle was parked for a while the wipers started working again. This vehicle has been to the dealership regarding this issue numerous times and sent back in service with a message from the technician, could not duplicate the complaint.

The engine in my vehicle has experiences major failures in valve flap adjusters, multiple valve failures, valve cover issues, and over consumption of oil by over a quarter in a week and a half of average driving. My safety was put at risk because the engine failure resulted in traction control malfunctions while going 70 mph up hill on a major interstate. This led to extreme shaking which did not stop until slowing down to below 15 mph. Luckily I was a mile from an exit and was able to coast off the road quickly; it was decent enough weather, and I was less than 5 miles from my destination so I could creep between 15-30 mph to not exacerbate traction control alarms. That slow mph did back up traffic behind me. As far as I am aware the problem was likely reproduced by the dealership service tech, which led to their recommendation to replace the whole engine. They do not consider it to be covered by any warranty anymore. The engine may be in their possession still, but I am unsure. There were zero warning lights/prompts from the vehicle that anything was going wrong prior to the shaking and loss of traction control at high speed. The dealer service team suggested that my high miles led to the engine failure. I do highway driving with it and have followed all manufacturer recommendations for oil changes, and even more frequent changes with oem oil since about 80k miles. I do not think this engine should have failed at this amount of mileage. I made note of oil consumption around 95k miles and measured oil loss regularly. It was a little less than a quart every 2k to 3k miles which manufacturer states is within spec so I would top off oil. A year ago it had a tcm wire replaced after burning in half. 3 weeks ago I also had to replace the entire turbo. The wire rendered my car unable to go in gear. The turbo failure put me into limp mode. I think the turbo failure was a sign of a deeper issue that went undiagnosed.

The onstar telematics control module failed and the dealership says the repair parts are not available with no expected delivery date. This disables the onstar system and gps.

Steering wheel locked driving hazard lights on dashboard on power steering light on stranded on road with my kids took it to riverside Chevrolet almost 2 months in dealership 2 technician could not give me a diagnostic on the truck they could not repair the vehicle vehicle not drivable.

My 2023 Chevrolet Tahoe LS has experienced repeated service issues within the first year of ownership. The vehicle has been in the repair shop five separate times and out of service for approximately five months total. Due to extended repair periods, the mileage remains extremely low. A primary concern involved the steering system. The steering wheel was noticeably off-center while driving straight, requiring continuous correction to maintain proper lane position. Steering-related components were inspected and replaced. There were no warning lights present at the time. However, improper steering alignment raised safety concerns regarding vehicle tracking and stability. The vehicle has been inspected and repaired by authorized service providers. I am submitting this complaint to determine whether this reflects a broader safety-related issue with this model year.

At a stoplight vehicle wanted to stall out motor was shaking.

When driving the car just stops losing power then the car immediately shuts down and stops driving. I had to call a tow truck when it’s taken to the dealership the fuel pump power control module is faulty. This is a 2021 Tahoe they had to replace the fuel pump, power control module, and this vehicle should not have to be replaced. Chevrolet/GMC knows that these modules will make the vehicle stop wherever it is driving. I happen to be on a freeway going 70 mph and could have been killed. They have not put a recall out to have these modules replaced in any SUV. This is a danger for any driver on the road. This is a lawsuit waiting to happen for people. You know that they are aware this is happening because they paid for the tow and replaced this part that is not warranty now for free. Yes, great that it was paid for but thankful I did not lose my life as I could’ve been rear ended when my car shut down going that fast in the middle of the freeway I am begging that they please put a recall so no one gets injured or killed.

To whom it may concern, I am writing to formally report serious defects with my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe (VIN: [xxx] ) and to request assistance with repair costs. Approximately six months after purchase, when the vehicle had about 22,000 miles (I bought it used with around 19,000 miles), the battery and electrical system failed. I brought it to the dealer and was told there was no issue; they only performed a jump start. Two days later, the vehicle broke down in the middle of the road. I had to pay for a tow truck and replace the battery completely out of pocket. More recently, at about 92,000 miles, the vehicle developed severe engine problems. A certified mechanic diagnosed collapsed afm lifters and camshaft damage. The repair requires oem gm parts and costs approximately $4,500. This issue is widely reported by other gm owners with 5. 3l afm engines and is known to be a manufacturing defect, not a maintenance problem. Please note that my Tahoe has been well maintained, with oil changes always performed on time and using the correct oil and service intervals recommended by gm. Despite this, the vehicle has experienced repeated and costly failures that create unsafe driving conditions. I kindly request that gm review my case and provide assistance with covering the repair costs or reimbursement, given that these issues are the result of known defects and not owner neglect. 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe original owner. Fuel control module failures. 1. Failed on 6/29/21 at 5,068 miles. Dealer replaced with gm part #13537053. 2. Failed on 8/15/22 at 12,130 miles. Dealer replaced with gm part #13544060 3. Failed on 8/1/25 at 41,247 miles. Dealer replaced with gm part #13554821 on each failure, vehicle was unable to shift to neutral, power remained on, electrical component began shutting down to conserve power, left stranded and required towing with rear wheels being dragged locked up onto tow truck. Once power was shut down, could not operate windows or lock doors other than keyed driver's door. Th entire failure mechanism puts the driver in an extremely unsafe situation. Recall notice #21v739000 was issued on 9/23/21 with to impacted notified owners on 10/14/21. Did not receive this notification since first failure was prior to recall and assume gm considered vehicle repair completed. Note that the fuel module part number has changed 3 times in my case, but part # 3554821 replaces 5 other listed part numbers. Is this the 6th iteration or of this part? what is the root cause of the fuel module failure? is it the module itself failing or an electrical issue that causes the fuel module to short out and fail. Gm/Chevrolet is not solving this issue. With 3 failures of the same component, this is a lemon and I have no comfort or confidence using this vehicle. When will the next failure occur and what unsafe situation will this leave me stranded in? read this issue applied to 2021 and 2022 gm full size SUV's and now reading issues through the 2024's. Unacceptable and poor quality. Gm needs to be held accountable to solve the root cause of these failures and stop putting a replacement band aid on the problem.

Car stopped while in motion, engine shutdown and could not be put into neutral to move vehicle out of traffic. Car had to be towed away. Only 37 k miles. This is the second time this has happened in traffic posing a major safety hazard. Fuel control module was what shut down the car while driving the first time. Now it has failed again.

The vehicle was not yet repaired. The manufacturer was not yet contacted. The failure mileage was 37,000.

The pump continued to receive power after the key/pushbutton was turned off. This is a potential fire hazard while driving. Also a visibility hazard when the washer pump fails. This vehicle is a city of cripple creek, CO police vehicle. This failure has now happened on two of our police defenders (tahoe).

I really don't know what happened I was coming from okmulgee oklahoma I went to turn my signal on to get in left lane and my truck just put itself in accessory mode and I couldn't steer causing my truck to keep straight instead of switching lanes causing me to run into a construction merge sign that damaged my truck my insurance wouldn't cover the damages cause they said it sounds like a malfunction with my truck that I need to contact dealer.

On 01/03/24, the vehicle stalled and smoked on the suncoast parkway. All dashboard warning lights and messages illuminated, and the vehicle entered emergency park mode. Onstar was contacted and the vehicle was towed to jenkins Chevrolet in homosassa, FL. The failure was linked to a broken pulley and belt system that damaged the ecm and wiring harness. No dtcs were pulled, and mileage in/out was 80042/80043—no test drive performed. On 08/06/24, the vehicle returned to jenkins for a roaring noise. A pulley bearing was replaced, possibly related to the earlier failure. Again, no drivability evaluation or codes recorded. On 03/09/25, the same full system warning lights/messages appeared again. The vehicle experienced harsh shifting and delayed acceleration. It was taken to autonation Chevrolet south clearwater on 03/10/25. Dtcs (p0700, p0717, p2714, p2716, p0706, and u-codes) were found but dismissed. Only the battery was replaced. Mileage in/out was 99494—no test drive performed despite claims one occurred. On 07/08/25, the vehicle again showed full dashboard warnings. Brought back to autonation on 07/09/25. On 07/14/25, customer received a $9,177. 85 estimate including full transmission replacement. Safety was at risk due to repeated stalling, loss of acceleration, and emergency parking mode while driving or merging. These failures could have led to accidents or left the vehicle disabled in traffic. Driver and children were present during each incident. The vehicle is enrolled in onstar and the mychevy app, which provide monthly health reports. Despite these incidents, no faults or warnings were ever shown in the reports. Vehicle remains available for inspection. A case is open with gm. Across 4 service visits, gm-certified dealerships failed to follow proper protocols, including code checks, drivability assessments, and test drives—contributing to delayed diagnosis of transmission failure.

The affected components are the electrical system, engine, and power train. In March 2025, my 2021 Chevrolet Tahoe displayed multiple warning lamps across the dash, including traction control and check engine lights. The vehicle shifted erratically and sometimes entered limp mode. I brought the vehicle to autonation Chevrolet south clearwater for inspection. The dealer replaced the battery, dismissed my concerns, and stated that a test drive was performed, but the mileage in and out on the invoice was identical, showing it never actually occurred. Diagnostic trouble codes (p0700, p0717, p2714, p2716, p0706, and multiple u-codes) were present but were not fully investigated. A gm technical service bulletin (21-na-149, December 2022) covers these exact symptoms (caused by engine wiring harness chafing), but it was never referenced or applied. Because the problem was not addressed, the condition worsened. By July 2025, the vehicle suffered a complete transmission failure. At that point, the dealer confirmed the issue, documenting transmission slipping, shuddering, noise, and additional codes (p0700, p077c, p17f6, p17fb, p1872). Gm increased its goodwill contribution from 15% to 40% of the $9,925 repair cost, while autonation offered only $500 despite their role in the missed diagnosis. Safety risk: my family and I were at risk each time the vehicle stalled, lost power, or shifted erratically while driving, including at highway speeds. These failures created a significant risk of collision. The drivability problem was not properly confirmed in March 2025 despite multiple codes being present. By July 2025, the dealer acknowledged and confirmed the transmission failure. The vehicle remains available for inspection, and I have retained all invoices, diagnostic reports, and communications with gm and the dealership.

No test drive was performed despite being claimed by the service technician, and the applicable TSB was not referenced. By July 2025, the condition worsened into a complete transmission failure, with additional codes (p0700, p077c, p17f6, p17fb, p1872). The dealer’s estimate required a full transmission replacement at nearly $10,000. Gm reviewed the case through its internal policy evaluation tool and increased goodwill assistance from 15% to 40%, while autonation contributed only $500. Gm’s partial contribution confirms the defect is recognized, yet this VIN remains excluded from the official recall. This issue placed my family and other motorists at significant risk, as sudden loss of power and shifting failures occurred during normal driving conditions. Dealer records, gm documentation, and photographs of warning messages are available. I request that NHTSA expand recall n232404190 to include affected vins such as mine, since the symptoms, diagnostic codes, and confirmed failures match exactly what gm has already identified as a known safety issue.

The stabilitrak notification comes on constantly. While we are driving/reversing and turn our steering wheel the whole car will shut down and the steering wheel jerks. It's happened multiple times. It takes forever for the car to turn back on. This is super dangerous and cause myself and my children to end up getting hit by another vehicle while on the road.

Wipers failed during heavy rain in heavy traffic on 7/3/25. Wipers randomly started working. The wipers failed again during a heavy rain on 8/13/25 again in moderate traffic. Wipers failed during heavy rain, was unable to see while driving on an interstate. I was able to navigate to the shoulder of the highway but was very scary being on an interstate highway in heavy traffic. Dealership repair occurred on 8/14/25. No warnings of any kind prior to the failures.

Passenger side rear air conditioning blower motor caught on fire and burned vehicle out completely. Fire trucks called to put out fire but is completely burned out. My safety was at risk flames in back by the time I got stopped on highway. Thankful no one was riding in back seat. First issue I had with it and it torched the vehicle. No warnings on dash. Vehicle is waiting to be inspected by insurance adjuster.

Hello, I has problems driving my car like by brakes braking out of nowhere. There was even a couple times I felt like the car swerved, even though I did not do anything to the steering wheel. Then I found out I had a recall that said not to drive the car because it was dangerous so I parked it in my driveway and I have not driven it for many months as I’ve been getting rental cars. Eventually, I brought it into antelope valley Chevrolet and they told me they were going to fix it but then they actually told me that I had to pay around $1000 for a part that I found out later only cost under $100 and takes three minutes to put in. This is apart from Chevrolet and not some knock off from china that I found for under $100 online. So I’m a little upset that I came in for a recall and they’re trying to get me to do a repair for almost $2000. They never even offered me a rental car and they’re threatening me saying that if we don’t move forward with it, they’re gonna charge me $50 a day for storage. I feel like they’re intimidating me to try to make me traded in for a new one, but I am not ready to get a new one. I just want to get my car on the road again.
