Nexen tire's separation. I purchased a set of (4) nexen tires. To date 3 of the 4 have had to be replaced due to tread separation. Nexen refused to replace the first (2) even though they were almost brand new. Last week, a 3rd tire went bad. I had to pay for a new tire, but kept the defective tire in my possession. I'm concerned that the 4th remaining tire will blow-out at highway speeds causing an accident. Will no longer let my wife drive my truck.

Goodyear silent armor tire is prematurely failing in its sidewall and / the continuity of the product's integrity is compromised. This has already led to a premature blowout in the highway (defined as the exact same reason for the current goodyear silent armor recall and nevada lawsuit) and can be seen on two of the 3 remaining tires. The only exception is that this was on a tires produced in 05-10 (one of them) and 11/10 (one of them). I took pictures of the blown tire and of the remaining tires awaiting an opportunity to provide to consul.

I purchased 5 toyo proxies 285/60/18 and have had a blow out on the side wall of two within the last year with premature cracking on all of the tires. The first tire that blew out I thought was just an accident. But after purchasing the 5th tire and then having a blow out on 4/2/2008, within 6 mos of them, where the sidewall was affected, I decided to look online and found where the proxies were having issues with other consumers with blowing out the sidewalls. Co wanted a four wheel drive business that deals with their product and have them inspected. They were inspected and showed the tire depth, premature cracking, etc. After having them inspected, business condemned the tires tire manf then decided that they had to have the tires back before they would issue any warranty or prorating on them. Did say that they would issue a prorate of 78% on each tire, but I had to send the tires to them via ups which they would pick up the cost of having the tires shipped up to them. As I explained I had no problem sending the tires as in good conscience, I could not sale these tires to anyone else as being in this field for 13 years and knowing the safety issues regarding tires having these issues, I did not feel that they were safe for anyone to have on their vehicles. Ups picked up the tires and after a few phone calls I finally received a letter from tire CO stating that they were not going to warranty or prorate the tire as they did not see anything wrong with them. I travel the interstate quite a bit and after having two of the sidewalls blow out as they did I was very fortunate that I didn't cause a severe accident and I would consider this to be a safety hazard for interstate travelers at high rates of speed. This is something as a consumer, that I feel should be looked into more closely as it could cause a serious accident.

The Chevrolet Tahoe now has 19,000 miles and we never have had a flat tire > on any of the these tires. > yesterday may 7, 2005 we were driving on the freeway at 60 mph. When we > heard a pop sound on the right side of the vehicle. > I soon could feel that the tire was getting flat and pulled over to the > shoulder and observed the the right rear tire had blown out. There was no > objects or pot hole in the roadway that I could have ran over with the > vehicle. > the blow out of the tire was around the seam of the outer sidewall. > > questions?: > has there been similar occurrences with this make of firestone tire? > is this type of sidewall blow out covered under my warranty?.

With less than 2000 miles on vehicle same tire (right rear) started losing air pressure. 1st time took to dealer they said nothing wrong. 2nd time fradulentlly charged me $17. 07 to reppair. Warranty book, part #05chevwar a first edition says bumper-to-bumper (includes tires) for 3yers or 36,000 miles. Vehicle only 3 months old and less than 4,000 miles. Traveling south on CA. Highway 99 through macfarland CA. On 11-20-2002 at approx. 2215 hrs the right front tire blewout. We where traveling at approx. 72 mph on straight flat stretch of hwy and were able to keep control of the vehicle. Upon inspection of the tire, I noticed that the sidewall had blown out. The Tahoe was purchase on Aug. 9th of 2002, and only had about 3842 miles. We did not hit anything, the tire just failed.
Right front tire blew out. Dealership claims a nail caused the entire sidewall to blow out. We strongly disagree with them. The tire wasn't leaking air, wasn't underinflated, there were no steering problems, and the tire didn't show any sign of wear. The entire sidewall blew out and cause damage to the tire and rim. For our safety we have removed these firestone tires from our vehicle, and they are here at our home for inspection. We believe there is a problem with this make of tire.
Tire blewout on straight section of highway, tread started to separate. (dot number: 8x72 wl2 tiresize: p265/70r16).
The right rear unirolyal tiger paw tire blewout while driving (tire size p235/75r15).
I was 20 miles from home going 64 mph, on a slight curve. I heard and felt the back tire blow the tire wall from the point of tire wear to the center. I was shocked at the damage. . The Tahoe leaned severely to the right, but remained upright. I held the steering wheel tight and straight. And eased the Tahoe to the side of the road. The Tahoe was hard to control, but was able to get it to the side of the highway. When the tire blew the Tahoe leaned severely to the right. When I got out of the Tahoe, I discovered the tire had suffered catastrophic failure. The tire compleley collasped. The side wall completely blow away. This tire was a full size spare with only 4000 miles on it. Square chunks where removed from part of the sidewall. There were a number of tears in the tire. From the point of the tread to the center. . I called my husband on the cell phone; he was in the middle of a trial (he's an attorney). He drove the 20 miles to the site and he was shocked at the damage. We called a tow truck the wheel itself was damaged. At this time we do not know if the rear axle is damaged, it will be checked out tomorrow. It's at the dealership now. No one had seen anything like it. This was not a flat, it was an entire blowout. We still have possession of the defective tire and photos were taken at the scene and at the dealership. (tiresize: p2451/76r1)( dot number: tire size: p2451/76r1 ).
While traveling at 25 mph rear tires blewout. Please provide further information.
