1 Battery problem

Failure Date: 08/08/2012

Door locks repeatedly locked and unlocked, then cascading failures, anti-lock light, engine light, other warning lights. Engine started to run rough and would not make power, engine quit. Note transmission gear indicator read incorrectly. Disconnected battery, and reconnected, engine started got me home. Three occurrences that the engine just quits. It will restart after a few minutes. Mechanic could not find anything wrong. Had another occurrence, mechanic found a code indicating the ecm may be bad. He tells me this should have noting to do with the door locks. The door locks latch and unlatch, uncommanded. Engine stops when under power. Mechanic has no course of action at this time.

Faulty speedometer - reads 60mph when at a stop - under warranty - dealership replaced instrument cluster panel current problems - gas gauge reads empty when tank jus filled, lights dim and brighten intermittenly, replaced battery 9/2011 thinking problem with battery when car just died on me, check engine light just goes off and on, replaced front left head lamp and within 1 week the same bulb is dead.

3 Battery problem

Failure Date: 11/28/2010

The cluster/instrument panel on many 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer does not work, the gas gauge does not work, along with the speedometer, and the battery meter. The failure of these functions can cause speeding/ driving to slow, which could intern cause an accident. The gas gauge always shows that the tank is empty even after a fill up, which could cause you to run out of gas, and get into an accident. The only way to solve the problem is to replace the cluster panel.

4 Battery problem

5 Battery problem

Failure Date: 08/01/2010

Gas guage reads empty even though full tank, battery and temp guage also go up and down, check engine light is on. I know of more than 8 people with similiar vehicles of different model years with same issue. Chevy sent a letter saying that they would pay 50% for the repair of the of the instrument cluster if the vehicle had less than 120,00 miles or was 10 years old or less. My vehicle now has 146,000 miles, but the problem started a year ago when there were only approx. 120,000 miles on it. I feel that this is a safety issue being that my wife transports my children in this vehicle and should I neglect to tell her she needs fuel, she runs the risk of being stranded somewhere with my family, or worse on a heavily traveled road where the vehicle could stall with no warning. Thank you for your time.

6 Battery problem

Failure Date: 12/10/2008

Headlights, dashlight dim, battery gauge jump. The headlights, dashlights and all power dims or cuts out when letting off the gas. When in the gas it works fin. When I let off everything starts dimming and cutting out. At night time people in front of me think I'm wanting them to pull over because the light flash like a police cars would. I see many of the same complaints in msg boards and the dealerships know of the problem but have no fix. They tell you to deal with it. I think its a real safety issue and need to be addresses.

7 Battery problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2008

When driving at night typically while "coasting" between 30-50 mph my headlights on my Trailblazer dim, the battery charge goes down, and the blower stops working for just a second. After researching this on the internet I have noticed that many other people are having a similar, and unresolved problem with their Trailblazers as well. This is dangerous because headlights are necessary, also something that should not be a consistency with many consumers. Mine is a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer LS. I hope is matter is looked into more since there is a huge problem that many customers are having that is getting ignored. We need someone to look out for us!.

8 Battery problem

Failure Date: 05/24/2008

I have a 2005 chevy Trailblazer. Car is in fine condition but for some reason the car died. It restarted and ran ruff. Called the dealership and they had me tow it in. They ran "tests" and said my battery terminals were loose. I told them I did not agree. They said that they found nothing. Today June 2 rush our approaching an intersection car just died again. Car is not fine. Both times I was luck to be away from others but if not. . . . . Everything failed including my brake lights. If there was anyone near me than yes there would have been property damage, a crash and a report to the police.

9 Battery problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2008

I have a 2005 Trailblazer and the lights will dim and the battery gauge will drop down. I have taken this to the dealer and they can never seem to find anything wrong. I have read on the internet that gm has no answer for why this is happening. I have people that will pull over for me because they think that I am flashing my lights at them. This has been happening since I got the SUV 2 1/2 years ago.

10 Battery problem

Failure Date: 06/01/2007

2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer, speedometer stopped working properly. At 45k miles had the battery replaced and the speedometer hasn't worked properly since. Haven't had it repaired yet. I use my aftermarket gps to know my speed.

11 Battery problem

Failure Date: 03/09/2007

While driving at night (more noticeable), the head lights appear to dim then brighten (flashing the vehicle ahead). While this is occuring, the battery gauge bounce drastically from min to max then back to the middle. This has been occuring since the day I bought this vehicle June 05. Also while this occurs, the vehicle tends to lose rpm power so as you are driving there is a "jerk" in the forward motion.

12 Battery problem

Failure Date: 03/08/2007

2005 Trailblazer. Middle of high way engine stopped and instrument panel went crazy. Some time later ignition key worked again. I changed battery but it happened again and when I turned the ignition key to start the engine, sometimes is work and sometimes id doesn't. The dealer wanted me to pay for diagnosis fee my car is 46000 out of warranty and as I check internet forum some people have the same trouble and dealer covered the money how can I protect my family with the engine stopping in middle of highway!!!!!!!!.

13 Battery problem

Failure Date: 08/27/2005

On August 27th I was driving down the road when blue smoke came out from under the hood which smelled like plastic/copper burning the cruise control along with the back windshield wiper stopped working it was taken to Chevrolet dealership but not the one where it was purchased I was told they couldn't find the source of the problem after having my car a total of 3 days needless to say on the way back home more electrical problems occurred since the dealership failed to fix it not only did smoke come out from under the hood the lights on the dash/radio would flash from bright to dim the battery gauge was moving back and forth the radio stopped working the car is back in the shop when hooked to the computer at the dealership where it was purchased it showed some electrical problems with the cruise/windshield wiper.

14 Battery problem

Failure Date: 11/26/2004

The headlights, dash lights and dome lights all flicker intermittently. I have had this problem since Nov 2004 when I bought the truck. Recently I've noticed the battery gauge fluctuate rather wildly when this problem is occurring. In my case, there seems to be a connection to the outside temperature. However, given the intermittent nature of the problem I can't be certain. I have noticed the problem more when the temps are around 35-45f. The dealer has seen the vehicle several times for the problem and still can't determine the issue. The big problem is they haven't been able to reproduce the condition. The truck now has 75000 miles and is 4 years old. The flickering/flashing has gotten much worse. On Dec 2, 2008 the flickering was more akin to outright flashing. Other drivers being noticeably affected.
