I bought this car used in 2009. It had about 60000 miles on it. 1) the first problem I had with it was a burnout of the hac blower plug, that part of the wiring harness had to be cut out and replaced wth a completely new plug( both halves) and rewired in for a cost of 125. Oo and 3 hours of labour. I looked this up on the internet very common problem 2) rider side door control panel stopped working with strong odor of burnt plastic. Again looked up and found there was a recall, but only 2006 vehicles 3)brakes burn out of rotors only on rightside- left side rotors were fine, brake job with replacement of 2 left rotors I front piston amd all 8 pads 650. 00. Failure occurred while driving on city street 4) failure of ignition switch with erratic electrical function of running lights, radio and dashboard instrumentation. Happened on the road early twilight very dangerous had to get a local toll for 75. 00 all of these failures have made me very wary of driving this vehicle. 2 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 03/12/2016

The contact owns a 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 45 mph, the check engine warning indicator illuminated and the vehicle stalled afterwards. After approximately two minutes, the vehicle started normally. The vehicle was driven to the dealer and the diagnosis was that the abs sensor, the oxygen sensor, the brake pads, the cluster module and the fuel sender lever had to be replaced. The vehicle was being repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 178,000. The VIN was not available.

3 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 12/01/2007

Failure of rear brakes due to defective metal used in brake rotors. Which caused the rotors to become heavily rusted causing the brake pads to drag on rotors destroying both the pads and rotors.

4 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 02/24/2007

When checking my brakes I noticed that the inside of the front brake rotors where corroded and rusty. The vehicle is a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer with 32,262 highway miles. Approximately 25-30% of the inside of the rotor were rusted and had worn down the brake pad. So only 70% of the inside brake pad was being used for braking. This causes the brake pads to wear unevenly. Appears that this could be serious in an emergency situation. I checked the rear rotors and they are starting to do the same but only 1/2" on the outer edge of brake rotor is rusted. I checked the recalls and there were none for brakes. I checked with chevy and they are not aware of any problems. In checking websites, Trailblazerclub and trailvoy, other people have had the same or similar issue. I would assume that there is a problem with the metal.

5 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2005 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 10/11/2006

Brakes squeal on normal braking. Back tires spin on dry road and squeal like someone is "peeling out". Brakes seem to ride low to the floor and barely stop the vehicle when having to stop quickly. Besides that, they make the truck keep on rolling even though the brakes are being applied . It's like the computer in the brake system detects nothing when you try to stop, I've had some very near misses as far as accidents are concerned. I just paid this monster off now everything is going wrong.

6 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 08/08/2005

Brakes started pulsating when applied. Took it to the dealer who performed a brake inspection. His explanation indicated a design flaw which causes corrosion of the rotors that in turn eats the pads. Even with an extended warranty plan at 40000 miles they still refused to treat it as warranty and quoted $600 for the rears alone. I had the front rotor turned and will have the rears done by my independent mechanic. No wonder sales are down - nobody trust the manufacturers anymore more to do the right thing, they only trust them to not lose money on a failure. Who lets them get away with this kind of conduct - we do. As soon as my gas guzzler is safe to drive again out comes the for sale sign.

7 Brake Disc Pads problem of the 2003 Chevrolet Trailblazer

Failure Date: 04/18/2004

My front brakes had to be replaced after 24,000 miles. I have had other SUV and this seems like inferior products are being used. The dealer had to turn rotors and also replace a torsion bar. I do not drive this vehicle for work, I have a company car and the brakes were replaced on it at almost 45,000 miles.
