Chevrolet Trailblazer owners have reported 10 problems related to brake electric antilock (under the service brakes category). The most recently reported issues are listed below.
Last week it was cold & snowing. I was coming to a stop sign at a very low speed. I attempted to brake, the vehicle did not. I proceeded through the stop sign and struck another vehicle. Again today I was approaching a stop sign when I attempted to brake, the vehicle did not stop. Today there was luckily no on coming traffic. I will be taking my vehicle in for inspection.

The contact owns a 2004 Chevrolet Trailblazer. The vehicle has been to the dealership about 4 or 5 times for the brake system. When a diagnostic test was performed on the vehicle it did not indicate that there was a brake problem. . When the brakes were applied the pedal went to the floor, the vehicle would slow down, but will not stop. No warning lights illuminated ,indicating that there was a problem with the brakes. This did not happen every time that the brakes were applied. The weather condition has no impact on the braking capability. The manufacturer stated that if the diagnostic test showed there was nothing wrong then there was nothing that they could do about the problem.
Two different times while I was driving with traffic at approx. 70 mph, traffic in front came to an abrupt stop. I had to pull to the roadside because my brakes would not stop the car. I went at least 3 car lengths further than the car in front of me. Had I not been in an outside lane there would have been a serious crash.

Consumer states: abs system: hit brakes coming off the off ramp, pushed the brakes to the floor, hit the brakes again and just didn't stop, had an accident. The road was dry .

While applying the brakes pedal went to the floor. Vehicle pulled to the right. Consumer was able to maintain control of the vehicle and drove it to the dealer for inspection. Mechanic informed consumer that problem could not be duplicated.
While coming to the end of an on-ramp to 295 w, the vehicle suddenly began steering from left to right; I had absolutely no control; the brakes didn't appear to be helping at all, and I was only driving at a speed of aprox. 30 mph as always when I drive this on-ramp. I've "never ever" had a problem as this occur with any vehicle I've driven on this or other on/off-ramps. It was scary. Luckily I did not hit on-coming traffic but did, however, hit a guardrail. My 8 yr. Old was also terrified, but luckily we did not sustain injury.

While driving at 25 mph on a rural road consumer came to a stop. Then pressed the brakes, and consumer felt that brakes tried to engage, but vehicle kept going across the intersection. After traveling another sixty feet or so vehicle came to a stop on its own. Dealer acknowledged that there was a flaw design in the abs system.

In my 2002 Chevrolet Trailblazer, at approximately five mph, approaching a stop sign, the brake pedal went all the way to the floor and after slowing down to approximately one mph, the vehicle continued to roll thru the stop sign, across 4 lanes of traffic and finally came to a stop when it hit the curb on the opposite side of the intersection. The vehicle was subsequently hit by a large truck. There were no injuries. Had it not been for the curb, the vehicle would not have stopped. After having the vehicle towed to the nearest chevy service facility, the service manager told me that this was an inherent behavior with anti-lock brake systems. I tend to agree with him as my 2000 chevy silverado had demonstrated the same behavior. There were no apparent leaks in the system and the master cyclinder was full. After the accident, the vehicle was started and the brake pedal continued to go all the way to the floor while the vehicle was in park. The service facility was not able to reproduce the behavior the next morning and referred me to gm customer service where a case has been filed.
When applying pressure to the brake pedal pedal goes down to the floor, and the vehicle doesn't stop immediately. Dealer cannot determine the cause of problem.
