Tl- the contact owns a 2007 Chevrolet Trailblazer. While driving at approximately 30 mph, the fuel gauge reading decreased rapidly and the fuel warning light suddenly indicated empty. The contact refueled the vehicle and immediately after refueling, the fuel warning light illuminated on the instrument panel. The failure recurred sporadically. The manufacturer was contacted and advised that there were no recalls for the vehicle but a special coverage that would assist with fifty percent of the repair costs. Fuel gauge had to be replaced, gas cap keeps coming lose and makes the check engine light come on. The headlights and interior lights will shut off occasionally when you are driving it. The radio buttons that light up at night only a few work. The whole radio system seems to have a short in it. You can hear the speakers come on when you hit a bump, but don't stay on. It will only have 1 speaker that works when the rest of them shut off. The back windshield wiper won't stay on track so it won't work. The passenger window mechanism completely broke and had to replace the whole piece. The Trailblazer is too light when a cross wind hits you on the road in the winter it will push you right off the road. Very discouraged with general motors, they usually have better working vehicles than the ones they have been producing lately.

Fuel gauge quits working. . This happened 2 yrs ago and the dealer fixed it. . Now it's malfunctioning again. . I called gm and complained the first time and got no where. . From reading car complaints online it seems this is a common problem and safety hazard. . Consumers should be able to expect a safe vehicle that calculates how much fuel is in their vehicle. . Some of the items forthcoming happen all together and/or intermittently separate. The initial issues noticeably started upon my arrive in south carolina, but it was not something that immediately recognized before my relocation, because I thought it was something I did myself. I came out to my car on Saturday, 6/16/12. My car window was down and some items were stolen. I did not see any glass on the ground so I thought I left the window down myself and someone just stolen items. After speaking with the complex security and reporting the incident to hoa, I came out the truck again it smelled of wires burning and the window was down again. Several days later the tire pressure light was on and took the truck to get the wheels balanced and oil change at firestone. The tire pressure light would not go out, nor did the engine and oil light go out. A few months after that the smell of wires burning happened again and the engine remained on for over 2 weeks, then went off. In the late fall there was a really bad thunderstorm and when arrived to truck after work; running in rain, I saw that my window was down and I could not get the window back up for about 5 minutes. I was soaked and so was the car. The truck received an oil change recently and all the lights would not go out and the walmart mechanic who did the oil change stated that he smelled gas and some wires burning, lights on panel would not go out. Smell of wires burning. Engine light comes on and stays on for days-then goes off by itself. All lights emergency lights on panel intermittently on (oil/traction/tire pressure). Fuel gauge shows/clicks as full, smells like gas in truck and runs out of fuel with gauge showing full. Driver's window goes down when keys are not in truck. Heating knob on off, still blowing hot or cold air and gauge does not turn on past 2. Lights dim when using power button for windows.

Fuel guage registered empty when tank was full, then was erratic - sounds like a common complaint - should be a recall.

Fuel gauge stopped working.

Fuel gauge does not read accurate. Usually reads empty even when filled. Bounces back and forth.

My fuel gauge meter doesn't work. When ever I start the car, the fuel meter drops to empty. Also, one day in summer of 2011, my driver-side power module just stopped working. The power windows and locks no longer work from my driver-side door. I am concerned I will run out of gas on the interstate or highway and cause a wreck. I also can not see in the mornings from my window because it gets foggy and there is no way to roll my window down. This is a serious safety hazard.

At first, fuel gauge would read full after fill up. Then at 1/2 full mark, the gauge would slowly go down and read empty. Low fuel warning light would come on and alert chimes. After 2 wks it would read full after fill up but now it goes down to empty after 2-3 blocks w/low fuel light on and alert chime. Now it just registers at a low level fuctuating and triping the low fuel warning light and alert chimes (on and off) over and over again as I drive. There is no actual accurate reading from the gauge at all. I'm driving around by using the trip-ometer to determine when to fill up again. Too expensive to fix.

I filled my gas tank full and it then the gas light comes on. I am having to keep track of my miles so that I don't run out of gas because the fuel needle keeps going up and down, not reading accurately. Now every single time that I put gas in this happens. Very frustrating, especially when I want to travel out of town and you are not sure when you'll see the next gas station. Are there any recalls on this?.

Fuel gauge inoperable just as stated in all the other complaints. Chevy should be held accountable to repair at no cost for the life of the vehicle. Please mandate a recall as soon as possible.

Fuel guage gives incorrect readings. Guage often changes dramatically from one level to empty and back.

The fuel gauge doesn't work properly I have to reset the trip meter every time I fill it up with gas. I know others have had complaints about this issue just like to see gm help with this issue with a recall on them and pay for the costs since this is a major issue with a lot of people.

Fuel gauge has been fluctuating wildly for a couple of months, generally reading empty (even after fill up) but occasionally full (when a fill up is needed). Fuel gauge will read wrong. The gauge will suddenly drop down to empty and then will slowly start to rise back up after sitting on empty for a while. Also my vehicle will just stall out at red lights or when I am stopped in traffic. I will have to put my car into park and restart it quite often. This is obviously a major problem and there should be some recalls on this. This is a safety issue. I have read of peoples cars stalling out while they are driving down the highway and am personally scared of this happening to me while I am transporting my children around.

Driving down main road in town and the vehicle just stopped right in the middle of the lane - no warning or anything. We were almost rear ended. I had my 3 children with me and had to push the vehicle up the road to the nearest turn in and call my husband for help. I contact Chevrolet and was told that since I was not the original owner of the vehicle that they would only cover 1/2 of the cost to repair the fuel gauge problem and they could not guarantee it would not happen again. I told them that I paid my 1/2 when I purchased the vehicle. I've been fighting this for 3 years with no avail. I hope your agency can help.

Fuel gauge started to fluctuate in October 2011. I tried all kinds of fuel treatments by recommendation of my mechanic, but nothing seemed to work. Now, March 2012, it does not work at all. Fuel gauge started fluctuating last week. Drove approx. 4 more times and no problem. Yesterday and today fuel gauge fluctuating again. This only occurs after I've had the car running and then shut it off, run in a store etc. Start it up and it shows empty with the idiot light on- as I am driving the needle slowly goes back up.

The fuel gauge indicator comes on after about 150 miles with more than a half a tan of gas left. The gauge states that I am out of gas with the light on. For the time being I use the trip odometer and refuel about every 200 miles. It still worries me that my gas light is on and says empty. I haven't gone to a repair shop because my Trailblazer is no longer under warranty, but have looked online and saw many complaints of the same problem with quotes ranging anywhere from $400-$1000. This problem started at about 60k miles. I currently have approximately 62k miles.
