1 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2015 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 06/04/2020

I was driving on the interstate at 60 miles per hour. The car jarred forward , made a popping sound and lost power andthe engine speed dropped. I got off the interstate the car shut down and would not go. The stability trac came on the dash as well as the check engine light. I turned the car off for about 15 seconds and the car started and I drove home. I looked this up on youtube and found out the car does not keep a memory of the code the car throws when this happen. After the car sits all night it "resets" itself and the engine light goes off. This is the third time this has happened and I was lucky it did not stall in the middle of the interstate . This is a huge safe issue I haul my child and granddaughter in this vehicle. This is a serious safety issue and chevy knows about it. Get it fixed, do a recall.

3 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2014 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 11/11/2019

The engine in my 2014 Chevrolet Traverse died. I had only had 53k miles on the engine. This averages to around 10k miles per year, which is below average use. I maintained the car according to the car operating manual with proper maintenance and full synthetic oil changes per schedule all at the Chevrolet dealership. Leading up to my engine dying, the engine started to make some clinking noise, but no lights came one. When the dashboard panel stated to change the oil, I went within days to a local mechanic for a full synthetic oil change. No low oil or engine lights ever came on. According to the operating manual, I have 600 miles to change oil once the "change oil" message appears. I probably drove 60 miles. After the mechanic changed the oil to full synthetic, as required, the engine died/locked. At no point, did the car drive or engine start with no oil. I have video proof from the mechanic of a correct oil change. I still have a certified preowned limited powertrain warranty, which covers the engine. The dealership is refusing to honor my warranty. The dealership blames the mechanic for running the engine with no oil. I have video proof to the contrary, and the engine never indicated low oil, as the car monitors for this. I contacted gm 5 weeks ago, and they also refuse to honor my warranty.

4 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2016 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 05/09/2018

I purchased this Traverse brand new in 2016. I now have 51xxx miles. I have had to refill the transmission 3 times since I've had it. But absolutey no leaks. Prior to that I was experiencing weird transmission slippage at ocwerd times. Another quirk is that sometimes when I put gas in my var, the hand does not move at all until I drive maybe 20 miles but it has me wondering. Keep in mind all this weird behavior with no check engine light. The vehicle rattles at 1000 rpm. Like it might be a timing chain. Doesnt always go in to gear. Shows faulty gas gauge. I have yet to hear clicking noises at speeds above 20mph (dont know what that could be).

7 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2009 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 10/20/2017

Our check engine light came on and our vehicle started misfiring after we took it to dealer and they fixed the airbag codes so the air bag warning would go off. They said they had to change the wiring in the engine too not just between seats. We replaced all six plugs and 3 coils that the codes said were misfiring. Got it back and drove to georgia bout a 2 1/2 hour drive. Before we got there it misfired check engine light came on. We made it back on Sunday but car started losing power and check engine light kept flashing. I barley made it to exit and had to stop at gas station across from the one her ride was at. Our friends got it pulled into a spot but it made weird popping noises and had burning smell with no power then at very end power kicked in and he had to slam brakes. I left car there and forgot to lock it so we drove back to see if my husband could get it back to shop. My husband was accelerating up on ramp and car jerked and died completely. He had to fight it over to emergency lane at top of ramp. Vehicle wouldn't start. Costed 150 to have it towed to shop. Shop replaced catalytic converters after about a week cause had to fig out what hap. Drove car couple weeks it messed up again. Shop redid the wiring in engine that dealership messed up and we bought gm plugs and 3 coils. Car worked a little bit messed up again. Tried to get it 75 miles to dealership and pulled over to have it towed 150 again because it was about to die completely again. Converters had to be replaced again. Car is messed up again. Husband researched it bad timing (which makes engine skip time and it had been jerking and lurching so probably is what broke motor mount) makes the coils send too much gas and insides of converters melt and block up. If engine dies completely at 70mph on freeway a bad wreck can happen this is unsafe and Chevrolet should replace these engines.

The vehicle bucks and makes loud clunking sounds as if the different speeds could not kick in. The car has never given any warning on the dashboard for all the issues it presents. 11 Engine Clicking And Tapping Noises problem of the 2012 Chevrolet Traverse

Failure Date: 03/15/2012

The vehicle makes a grinding noise when braking. When you hit the brakes you also hear a crunching sound from the inside of the car. When attempting to stop you also feel the car jerking. The car has the stabilitrak light come on and when that happens it also says you have lost traction for the vehicle. When this happens the car feels like its gliding and has difficulty stopping. The engine in my car has a noise on the drivers side since the day I purchased the vehicle. At times you can even hear the noise while driving with your windows up.
