The 2009 Chevrolet Traverse has known steering problems, power steering pump, gears, etc. In talking to the local dealership, chevy knows of this issue but continues to offer no assistance in a solution. According to the service technician, the problem is based on a poor design in the pump housing and gear assembly with the power steering, as he states. . . "the pump is too small". The problem is in turning at low speeds, turning into parking spaces, driveways, or secondary roads. The steering wheel shakes or feels like a loss in power, and the steering wheel is almost impossible to turn. The dealership states that the cost to replace the pump and gear is an estimated 1200. 00. This issue needs to be resolved by chevy, not the consumer.
