Service Brakes Problems of Chrysler 200 - part 2

While driving that various speeds, the vehicle jerks while the accelerator pedal is depressed but the vehicle fails to accelerate. Also I noticed the vehicle didn't come with rubber on the accelerator pedal it was completely metal and my foot was sliding while driving so I contacted the dealership and tried to get it replaced but they said that is was a cost saving issue and there was nothing they could do about it since none of the cars came with this so I purchased a stainless steel pedal cover kit but I'm still having issues while driving with the accelerator on this vehicle while on the freeway because it hard accelerator at high speeds without the grip of the rubber.

Reference recall p60 for alternator diode issue. The complaint vehicle has an intermittent issue with a dead short to ground condition within the alternator. Vehicle running will intermittently dead short to ground. The vehicle shuts off unexpectedly in this condition and the battery and electrical system is completely shorted and nonfunctional. In this condition I removed the electrical connection to the alternator and voltage was restored. Replaced the cable and observed the short condition again. It is very disturbing that the scope of this issue was not adequately defined initially. I have escalated this to fca directly and was provided with a reference number 76150991, they have said that there is nothing they can do and the repair is out-of-pocket until Chrysler engineering to the NHTSA makes a different decision. I truly believe there are several people who will unknowingly replace the battery and start driving again, putting their lives and others on the road at risk.

Brakes squeak while driving and turning.

For starters when entering my car it doesn't detect the key I've changed the battery in the fob and car as well I have to sit for sometimes 10 min it will start but message key fob not detected displays the entire time I'm driving. Then it also flashes seat belt, air bags and brakes I've enclosed some pictures as well. It's never don this I don't don't think it's issue with my air bags or brakes but seem electrical I'm not sure but please help me figure it out.

I got a 2013 Chrysler 200 from mega auto outlet in stafford,va. 3-30-20 and tried to take it back to mega auto outlet. I called the dealership the next day about why there wasn't a inspection sticker on the windshield and why was there some much noise from the rear. The salesman then told me that there was a inspection sticker on the windshield and told him there wasn't and I was going to bring the car back because it was illegal to sell a car without a inspection sticker. But he refused to take the car back and said to me if I was to bring the car back that the police would there and not to to bring car back. I took to local garage to find out what was wrong with the car because it was making noises in the rear of car and the airbag light was on. I found tout that there was all kinds of problems with the 2013 Chrysler 200 and it was unsafe to drive. I don't know what else to do?.

The emergency brake randomly sets itself when the car is in slow drive; such as backing up or slowly moving forward. Last incident was 2/18/2020; however, it happens frequently.

While driving car would warn me to put in park and start car again. Car automatic shut it's self off in the middle of driving down a main road (busy road).

Tl the contact owned a 2011 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving 25 mph in the rain, the brake pedal was depressed but failed to engage as the he had to pump the brake pedal several times. The contact stated the vehicle hydroplane and landed in a ditch. The contact sustained no injuries. A police report was not filed. The contact mentioned that he was experiencing issues with the brake pedal prior to the collision. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000. The VIN was not available.

While driving slower, decelerating, or beginning to accelerate from a stop, the brakes and steering lock up, and then the car stalls/shuts down. This has happened over 5 times in the past 2 weeks. Prior to that, it would happen about once a week for about two months. It has occurred right before having to merge from a lane of heavy traffic (bumper-to-bumper) onto a busy highway, putting me in a dangerous position. Luckily, after turning the ignition off and then on again, everything works fine. . . Until it doesn't again.

Intermittent trouble breaking. Sometimes the pedal gets stiff, sometimes the pedal clicks when trying to brake, sometimes it feels like the pedal is going to fall through the floor or break off and also feels like the entire steering column (steering wheel and axle connecting the frontt tires is going to break! also feels like the brake pedal is sinking sometimes and that I can't stop and will crash!! I have an appointment to have the Chrysler dealership look at it because it has thrown some serv awd code to me twice now when putting the car in drive but then goes out and no codes are able to be read but this happens concurrently with sudden braking issues it seems like! happens usually when slowing down quickly but can happen at anytime and has varied in conditions as to when the problem flared up.

The parking brake activates without touching it. I thought I was probably hitting it on accident but I'm no where near it. It's really scary. When I'm slowing down the car will accelerate on its own and the airbag light comes on and off.

As I am driving the parkway going about 60 mph my car with out any warning started with flashing red on the dashboard. The temperature gauge started going from hot to cold and the engine symbol flashed on dash board. I was in the left hand lane with a significant amount of traffic passing me. Within 2-3 minutes as I started to go down hill the dash flashed steering will be disabled, then autobrading with be disabled. The radio at this point shut off and it was difficult to steer the car. There was little acceleration when I tried to give it gas to keep with the pace of the other vehicles attempting to move to the side of the road. I put my hazardous flashers on but because I did not have a dash board screen I was sure they were working everything electrical seemed to be off. I finally made it to the side of the road and the car went about 3 feet and stopped. I was not able to put the car in park once I got to the side of the road. It was difficult for the tow company to pull the vehicle because the wheels were locked and they had to use special equipment.

The emergency break cuts on for no reason. The car stalls after stopping. The car cut off while I was driving one time. My car would not start (lights, alarm were on) but the engine would not start.

Pulling down my drive way my vehicle accelerated without me trying. I hit the brake and e brake. It did not stop us. In result of the acceleration my house stopped us.

"takata recall". To begin, my car wouldn't accelerate, I'd be driving and it would hesitate then take off reallty hard as to even jerk. Did this a couple of times before I took it in to the dealership, one place told me it was nothing wrong, took it to another dealership because it kept stalling as I was on the highway and they said it was an electrical issue. Then another issue occurred with the dash illuminating telling me my airbags alert displaying on my dash (2x)took it back to dealership, though they kept it for a week, they said it was because someone kicked the wiring loose under my passenger seat. No one has ever sat in my back seat. Now my car is in the shop because at first the malfunction light illuminated, drove my car to work, returned to my car and it wouldn't start, had roadside jumpstart it, and it started, went back out later and it wouldn't start, as I tried to get out, my dash lit up and I had to push the button for it to turn off, as I'm walking away, my car literally tries to accelerate on its own, as if I hit my remote start. Had it taken into the dealership. They diagnosed my car as having a faulty climate control module ( first off, I drive 17 miles to and from work everyday, my climate control has been beyond functional, I literally have to turn it off because it gets so cold in my car) and they also said my car stalled because of a bad battery, and said the burning I smelled on the passenger door was a faulty wire and thats why its not functioning properly, which they're repairing, but charging me for it. I have had so many issues with this car since I purchased it. When I'm driving and turn the wheel to the left, it sounds like something is going to break, also my breaks will lock up on me if it's raining and I'll slide ( really)?? this car has been nothing less then a lemon.

I'm buying this car this week where there any recall issues I want to make sure the dealer repaired them.

Attempted to brake at an intersection however the vehicle did not brake. Pulled the emergency brake to avoid collision. According to the napleton Chrysler dealership in palm beach gardens, FL the brake booster on the 4 year old vehicle needs to be replaced.

Tl-the contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 200. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 70 mph, the contact lost functionality of the brakes, power steering, and accelerator. The contact stated that it required extra effort to maneuver the vehicle. Additionally, the brake pedal and accelerator pedal were alternately depressed however, the vehicle failed to respond. My car was working perfectly fine until I left work today. My check engine light came on as soon as I started my car and it kept saying �check parking brake� and �check airbags� I couldn't put my car in drive or reverse, it wouldn't go anywhere. Possibly because the parking brake wouldn't let me drive. Very strange, as it was sudden and unexpected. . . . Have never had a problem with parking brake or airbags.

In addition, the service electronic brake system warning indicator illuminated. The contact had to forcefully depress the brake pedal to stop the vehicle. The manufacturer was not notified. The failure mileage was 87,794.

Car had been parked for about 5 hours. When I went to restart car made a noise like it was struggling to start. Turned car off and check oil appears to be full. Went to restart car and it would not restart. Multiple attempts were made to start car and while all lights and beeping came on car would not start again over a 15 min period. Can not push break down and when push the start button nothing happens. Car has also stalled out multiple times while driving in the last year. Chrysler dealership states its due to oil and it appears car is burning oil very fast. Chrysler states that the car will not start due to a safety mechanism to not allow the engine to overheat due to low oil. As oil has appeared full and checked multiple time unsure as to why the car would do this.

My 2015 Chrysler 200c all-wheel drive 3. 6 l v6 has randomly had bouts of stiffness/lack of normal tension in my steering usually when going to turn hut has happened at other times as well like when changing lanes! also I've noticed a clicking/creaking break pedal that will sporadically get severly stiff and when depressed does not slow the vehicle or it will click and sink like the pedal bbn is going to fall through my floor board while I'm trying to break at any speed! this should be illegal I should not be stuck with the $20,000 bill and have my children riding around in a car that doesn't want to break or steer properly and I've had multiple mechanics look at it and they say everything's just fine with it of course they think that because it's not a consistent problem it just so happens to go out same with many other things on my vehicle which makes me wonder if it's not electrical either way I don't care what the cause is if you can't fix it or if it's going to cause me not be able to steer or brake properly with my children in the car we all deserve our money back because this is not safe and these cars should have never been released to the market!.

This is the second time in 2 years that I had to replace the alternator and battery on this car. I also had to replace fuses on this car. All the hazard lights came on battery light, hazard lights, all the lights in dashboard came on. Care accelerated slowly until it turned off. Couldn't drive.

Going down the highway the electrical system shut down. This made steering, and braking almost impossible. All the gauges, lights, and wipers also went off. After coasting to the side of the highway and turning the key to the off position, was able to restart the auto. The auto shows no vehicle codes when connected to a scanner.

When driving my vehicle from the stop position on the street or at a traffic light and I begin to accelerate the vehicle hesitates as the engine rpms increase. It takes about 2-5 seconds for the transmission to catch up with the desired speed. When driving over 45 - 55mph or higher on the highway there is a distinct humming sound coming from the front of the vehicle. A constant humming sound. When I decrease in speed the transmission jerks as if it doesn't want to go into its lower gears. This problem has been occurring with the vehicle since I purchased it used in August of 2017 in hawaii.

I purchase my Chrysler 200 around 1/8/2019 today is 6/15/2019 and I am getting this clicking noise around the front end rather you turning or driving and its pulling to the right. I have taking my Chrysler 200 to atleasted (6) repair shops they all gave me different answers about what it going take to fix the problem. I am so confused and disappointed & feeling some kinda way about this Chrysler 200 right now. So dick norris Buick GMC in palm harbor, FL. ( I would never deal with them again) and to the (Chrysler corporation) get it right the first time this is America and I an a veteran.

No check engine light, pressing on brake pedal while at a stop sign or red light, automobile stalls. Put it in park and restart, rpm range varies. Use brakes too much rpm increases need to stop vehicle and restart to get better rpm and dashboard blinks for the mileage.

In 3 weeks time the car stalled midway in the highway while driving as if it were going to turn off. I took it in for repairs and it was the shock plugs. Then the brakes were not working. I took the car to replace all four brakes. A day later the battery light came on. After driving my son to school the car pulled back and shook and shut down. I took it back in for repairs and it was the alternator. Today the windshield wipers froze midway. This is the most unsafe car and all should be recalled in general.

My car was driving just fine until I went to reverse out of the parking spot I was parked in. I pushed the brake down to release the emergency brake and all of a sudden my brake got harder to push down. It displays on my screen the �brake� is on but it's not. It almost feels like my brakes went out but it's so hard to push them down. Luckily it happened while I was in a parking lot rather then on a main road or even the highway. I took it to the dealership and was told it was my brake booster. It's no way after two years of having this car that anything this serious with my brakes should've happened at all.

Takata recall, air bag icon stays on. Gas cap icon stays on. Upon cruse control, to continue at the previous speed on incline , the brakes and dash lights began to flash. Pulled over turned car off and started back up as k was driving on the interstate.

The car has a ticking by the right side I reported this to meinke and they let the warranty expire with silvercrest but its noted in my 30 day warranty with drive time.

Service air bag system and service parking brake notifications appeared as well as the check engine light car would not shift, the screen went in and out while the vehicle loss power and wouldn't move. The transmission just reved this car has major issues all of this happed while driving.

While driving the vehicle at around 30 mph the service airbag system and service parking brake system notifications came on along with the check engine light and traction control disabling. As that happened my touchscreen in the vehicle went in and out and the car became hesitant to accelerate. I pulled over and tried to set the parking brake and then release it afterwards the car really became hard to move. Transmission just reved and the car eventually started accelerating.

Parking brake will spontaneously engage while driving on city street going less than 15mph. Check turns on but no codes and will not turn off. Biggest issue lately is that car does not recognize key fab. Batteries have been changed and neither key fab is recognized. Car can be started, get out and get back in and fab is jot recognized. Has left me stranded many times. Then when go back, it suddenly works.

Brake pedal will not push down and car won't start.
