Failure Date: 05/31/2011

Car is stuck in park leaving me stranded. Manufacturer issued k39 customer satisfaction recall letter which describes the same problem that I have and sugest that the part should be replaced however they refuse to replaced my part even though it is the same problem, same part, same vehicle, and same year and make as my vehicles described in letter. You can quickly identify this as a defective part by googling Chrysler 300 stuck in park. It is the same part in all 300s made that year, why should it only apply to some vehicles? does not make since unless company is just trying to make it look like they are doing something when in fact they are doing nothing to address defective part that breaks with no warning and leaves drivers stranded.

51 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/01/2010

About 6 months ago, my gear shift started "sticking" in park. Would not go into reverse without a lot of coaxing. What I did was to keep pumping the brakes and after about 10 or so pumps, the gear shift would release. More recently, my car will just die even when I am going over 40 mph. Most of the time, I can just shift it into nuetral and restart it. I am not sure of what the outcome would be if I were perhaps going around a corner since the power steering goes out when this occurs. Actually as I think about it, it also did this when it was brand new, when I took it to the dealership they said there was no record of it on the computer therefore they could not fix it.

55 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/16/2010

I have never had a problem with my Chrysler 300 up until this morning as I started my car for work. My car was stuck in "park". As I researched this deficiency online it I noticed that it has been an ongoing occurrence with Chryslers of all type. I called many Chrysler dealerships and found that this is a problem that has been repaired on a normal basis. My complaint is there is no recall on this deficiency and this is costing consumer too much money that we don't have to spend on this. I have my car serviced regularly so this should have not happened.

56 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/15/2010

Whenever the car (2007 Chrysler 300 touring) is put into "park" without the emergency brake engaged to hold the car in place, it is very difficult to disengage the transmission from park to any other gear selection when restarting the car and attempting to move it. While I know it is good driving practice to use the emergency brake when parked, it is a must in this vehicle or the transmission gear selector will be very difficult to move. The problem has existed since the vehicle was new. I have not attempted a repair, but religiously apply the parking brake only after shifting into neutral, taking my foot off the brake pedal until the car settles, then putting it into "park. ".

57 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/03/2010

No warning was given. I was leaving work on August 3rd, the car wouldn't move out of park. It was stuck in "park". I called the dealership and he said this was a common problem in Chrysler cars. My car is a 2007 Chrysler 300. 52,000 miles. . . We have a lifetime warranty on the car and thought that would be covered. When I called Chrysler, they said the "gear shift" was not covered under the extended warranty. He proceeds to tell me it will cost $150 to tow it; $150 diagnostic test to determine what the problem is before they can say whether or not the warranty covers it. . . And if it doesn't, then I will have to pay for the diagnostic test and the price to fix a . 50 cents plastic, which is $406. 00!!! $706 to fix a "known problem" in Chrysler cars. The "gear shifts" in these vehicles should be replaced. There are many blogs on the internet about this "common problem". Chrysler needs to issue a recall on "gear shifts" that get stuck in "park" or fix the known problem for free!!!!.

58 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/30/2010

Vehicle stuck in park, researched via web found common problems for Chrysler vehicles 2007 and prior. Called dealership m morning was told yes that is probably the problem 350. 00 repair. Called Chrysler to try and get help as this defect is not a owner caused issued its a defective part. Was told 2 business days for contact back. Called 2nd day told my # listed was incorrect "which it was not" they read it back to me. Gave new # left multiple voicemails on case mgrs phone with both #'s to reach. Called again today was told case closed couldn't reach me bad phone # listed. Told them that was incorrect they said sorry had to open new case and wait again for a new case manager to review. Obvious run around for a "known" issue with there vehicles. Tons of complaints on the web about this very surprised they have not stepped up to the plate to recall. 60 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/08/2010

2006 Chrysler 300 has had shifter assembly replaced 3 times in less than 5 years. The gear shift will not move out of park. This is the second time this has occurred in the last 2 years. From my own research and conversations with the dealer's mechanics, this is a constant issue with 300s. A small spring and plastic arm break frequently. This is a problem which Chrysler knows about yet continues to manufacture 300s with these malfunctioning/defective parts included.

61 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/29/2010

On 5/29/10, after driving my car throughout the day, I returned home to change clothes and prepare for my daughter's recital. After changing clothes and preparing to leave, I went to my 2006 Chrysler 300 and started my vehicle. While the vehicle was running, I pressed the brake and attempted to place the gear selector into reverse. I could not take my car out of park. I turned the car off and tried to place the gear selector into reverse approximately 30 times. My car would not go out of park. This is the second time that this has happened and as I research this matter this is happening to a number of Chrysler 300 owners.

63 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2007 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/03/2010

Car shifter locked up and could not get vehicle out of "park", after trying really hard to put it into drive, I was able to get the shifter to change to "drive, but when I got home I had to put extra pressure on the shifter to get to park. This is extremely unsafe because the car could roll by itself since it is extremely hard to place the shifter in park.

65 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/07/2010

66 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/17/2010

2006 Chrysler 300 limited with 3. 5 and auto trans. Transmission shifter has failed 2 times in the last year. 1st time it was stuck in park and would not move, the vehicle towed to Chrysler dealer and shifter repaired. Iaw dealer the plastic clip inside the shifter broke. 2nd time the shifter would not go to park and could not remove the key from the ignition. Drove the vehicle back to the dealer and the shifter was repaired again, a new plastic piece used again. Chrysler I was told is aware of the problem. Will this happen again yes but when no idea. If Chrysler is aware of the problem (and not the only one going thru this) why isn't Chrysler trying to solve the problem? instead they keep replacing the part as it breaks. What will happen when the warranty expires on the vehicle? will I incur the expenses to have it repaired.

67 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/15/2010

I own a 2006 Chrysler 300 and the shifting lever gets stuck in park and wont move. Other times the lever does not properly seat in park, when this happens the vehicle can not be started as it is not fully seated in park. Found recall on 05-06 300's for this issue, was told by Chrysler that my car was not part of the recall and there was nothing they could do. Recall states there is an issue with the cup plug that retains the parking pawl shaft and the vehicle may not be able to achieve 'park' position. This has been happening for about 4 weeks now.

68 Automatic Transmission problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/08/2009

Without any warning the gear shift would not move out of park. I had the vehicle towed to the shop and found that I had to replaced the gear shifter component in my Chrysler 300 vehicle. The key will not come out of the ignition because the gear is not go holding property in park. I am going to take the car to a Chrysler dealership and see if Chrysler will fix it. I repaired the vehicle less than 5 months ago.
