Came home from work parked my car. Ten fifteen min later I tried to go to the store, car started & died would not restart. Half an hour later I got it started, but it make a crunching noise & ran with a miss fire. I limped it to my mechanic, the car was blowing oil smoke out the tailpipes like I had overfilled it. My mechanic found that the valve seat on # 6 cylinder had dropped ruining both plug, cylinder head & piston. After he told me what had happened I started researching this, looks like any 5. 7 hemi & other motors made before 2009 can be effected. I've tried talking to Chrysler about this issue & when the hear my car was not @ a dealer I was stonewalled.

I had heard of the faulty engine lifter assembly with these 3. 5l engines. Never had a problem with mine until now. Started the car up to go to work about 5:30 am. Horrible lifter ticking sound came from the engine. Bought the car at 91,000 miles. Changed the oil before the 5,000 mile recommended intervals. Chrysler should step up and fix these 3. 5l engines through a recall.
While picking up my children from school the car failed to start, when I turned the key it made a horrible clanking sound (from the engine), at that point I had no choice but to leave the car there and walk home from school with the kids. I had just driven the car 6 miles from work, and the car gave no prior warning signs of this imminent failure. The following morning I had the car towed to my local mechanic, he later informed me that the valve seat came out of place (walked) and the car will need a new engine block and/or extensive work to repair the problem. He quoted the job to be at $7000, he also explained to me that this is a common problem particularly with the 2006-2008 Chrysler/Dodge hemi models, which should've been addressed by the manufacture due to the frequency in which this problem was occurring. I have always kept up with all scheduled maintenance and routine oil changes in my car, so I was totally surprise when this happened at 90,000 miles. Currently I don'¿t have the financial means to have the car repaired on my own, and i¿m asking is there any way that I can be compensated through the manufacturer for this problem? thank you julius.
While driving I recently heard my car making a ticking noise so I decided to take it in to be checked & while there have my vehicle get an early oil change. The next day I called to find out what was making my car tick well to my surprise I was told it was my engine & that while they were doing my oil change they saw that my oil was greyish in color & it also had metal shavings in my oil. . . Which means my engine is breaking down. They advised me to not to drive home on the highway but to take the streets home. How could this be? my car is only seven that's right only 7 years old with only around 58,503 miles on it (and by the way I purchased my car brand new I'm the only owner) I now find out that Chrysler only covers their vehicles for 3 years or 36,000 miles or what ever comes 1st.
The noise started over a few months to now a gradual loud metal "ticking" noise when idling . I looked up various sites and apparently the rocker arm assemblies have had a problem in these vehicles of this age. I contacted Chrysler who refused to communicate and or take to do anything about this problem. I read that the rocker arm assemblies were faulty at the manufacturing date of these vehicles yet Chrysler will do nothing, there is apparently a new kit available to repair. . This is not a high mileage vehicle yet it has this loud metallic ticking noise coming from the engine and it is getting worse.

Engine making ticking noises. Dealership informed it was the lifters and rocker arms.
I had been complaining for 2 years about a ticking sound in the engine. I was told by ginn Chrysler that it was nothing. The vehicle used to try to cut off while running. Finally, on mother's day (2010) just leaving hard rock hollywood casino while driving on the florida turnpike at approx. 70mph; the engine completely cut off in the middle of heavy thruway traffic. We were lucky enough to be close to an off ramp abd coasted to a stop on the shoulder of the exit ramp. . We had to remain there for 3 hours until someone was kind enough to pick us up and take us home. My 83 year old mother-in-law had to stand up for a few hours util we were picked-up. The engine had to be replacedfor $2450. 23 a few months later. After receiving the new engine, the vehicle would have difficulty starting for 4 years. It seemed to want to cut off again. I reported this to massey and dadeland Chrysler and was finally told after a free 24 point inspection during a oil change thah it was the tipm. Now, on 11/20/2014, I was told that it was the fobik in a recall letter. After being told of the numerous safety problems, I could not drive the car for fear of harming the public or myself and my passengers. I cannot drive this vehicle until it is repaired. I feel that I should be given a vehicle to drive util such time in the future. Until then, I do not have my own transportation. I have paid $33,000 for this car.

On February 17, 2007 and February 22, 2007, the vehicle began to shake while being parked. The owner called carmax and made an appointment to have the vehicle diagnosed. The dealer was unable to duplicate the failure. While driving 50 mph and greater, the vehicle's shaking intensified. A forensic expert with daimler Chrysler stated that two brains were defective in the vehicle and both were replaced. After the repairs were performed, the shaking worsened. On may 7, 2007, the vehicle was towed to carmax where it currently remains. The current mileage is 2,600 and failure mileage was 8. 2005 300 limited has a throttle and engine problems. When the consumer test drove the vehicle he told the salesperson about the vehicle rough idle. The salesperson said to drive the vehicle for about 1000 miles to work the bugs out of the engine. If that didn't work he was told to bring the vehicle back and the problem would be fixed under the vehicles warranty. The vehicle was returned to the dealer at 1700 miles. The dealer flashed the computer but the rough idle was still present. The flash created a high idle, lunging and popping sound when putting the vehicle in park. The vehicle also shook when turning the vehicle off. When the vehicle was driven over 30 mph the throttle would not ease down when the consumer foot was removed from the accelerator pedal. The consumer had to ride the brakes to slow the vehicle down.
