When sitting in park and car running it surges up and down. When in drive and sitting at a red light, stop sign or anything that u have to stop for a longer period of time, meaning seconds, the car will hesitate and shut off or stall. It does it all the time, any time. You have to put the car in park, turn the key to the off position and restart if you don't do it that way it will start and shut off immediately. I just bought the car on 9/22/2017 and it has happened everyday since. I've learned that if I put the car in neutral while sitting for just a few seconds it will not shut off.

After shifter recall for park function installed: 4 days after install, while backing up from a parking space, car slammed into park violently, could not pull forward or backward without car slamming into park. Dealer could find no problem. 10 weeks later while slowing down at a four way stop intersection, car jerked. When I started into the intersection, screen on dash said transmission service needed,do not put car in n or p, or turn off car, continue to your. . . Traction light and engine light came on. My car would not shift or move. People were swerving and hitting their brakes to avoid a collision with me. Trying to give car gas, and it going into park, finally got to curb. Called dealer, told to turn off car. It went to acc mode and shut off. Tow truck driver could not get car started, he used manual override to load car. Dealer did not diagnose car for 7 days, then said it was dead battery, could not find any problems. Picked up car, drove 37 miles, slowed down to merge onto a county highway, car jerked, and same message came up, same lights came on. Managed to pull off road. Turned off car. It stayed in run mode would not restart. Called dealer, had car towed. When car got to dealer, it started up ,they drove it three blocks, said no problem, no code shown. Dealer says it is not the recall fix, I refused to pickup car, afraid to drive it. Told dealer take a 40 mile drive then around town. No word yet.

Mileage 44398, first start of the day (cold start) idles all over the place and stalls at times when in reverse, coming to stops. If I place in neutral or slightly press gas pedal it will stay running. When driving if I need to hit the gas pedal to pass or speed up the car just does not react and will not accelerate, like it wants to shut off until I let off the pedal. No lights on, no codes. At times when it has stalled it restarts and surges up and down. Sometimes the car drives perfect, then out of nowhere the problem is back. Now one thing I have noticed is when I fill the tank above half way it seems to be fine, but once it gets to half way mark and below is when I notice this problem and it stays until about the empty mark not sure why that is, either the tank, pump, filter not really sure but definitely can be a dangerous condition if not addressed. If ever one day I was to need the power to be there for some reason the car just falls on its face when the pedal is applied.

While driving on my way to work I was pulling up to a stop sign before merging onto busy traffic on a main road when my car cut off. I tried starting it again but it would turn over but it would not stay running. After tow attempts I stopped trying turned on my hazards and signaled for the cars behind to try to go around (as this was not easy as I was blocking traffic). No warning lights were on, or came on previously, I maintained adequate 3000 mi oil changes, and maintenance. Meanwhile a police officer helped me put the car in neutral and moved me out of the way of traffic and stayed near while I waited on the tow truck. I am grateful that my car did not stall out on the highway while I was transporting my child. The thought of my car suddenly stalling is frustrating and scary! with the mileage of my car, the engine should be the least of my worries.

I drive a 2006 300c hemi w/60k miles. I bought this car from a friend. This car has been in this city since 2006. Mid day temps 105'. I was running errands in town. I had stopped at 7 different locations, turned the vehicle off and a few minutes later returned to the car and continued with my errands. I was in the car sitting at a 4 lane intersection waiting for my turn and I looked down at the dash and the oil can light came on, then traffic started to move and I couldn't, my car had stalled. I turned off the a/c unit, the radio and put it in park. I tried 6 or so times to get the car to start but it wouldn't . I engaged my flashers while other drivers were honking and driving around me. I left it in traffic and got to the sidewalk out of danger. I was calling for help when a motorist pulled up behind my car and asked whats wrong. I told him it just died, sitting still waiting for our turn to go thru the intersection. He got in the car that had been sitting there for about 5 minutes and it started right up and he drove it to a safe parking lot. I parked the car in my garage and there it sits. I am afraid to get stranded in traffic again. I did some research on the web and found that Chrysler announced on Feb 13, 2014 Chrysler extends lifetime warranty on 2006, 5. 7 and 6. 1 hemi fuel tanks. Apparently, no one has died yet so it does not quality for a recall but this is a known problem. I would like to know how I can qualify for this warranty?.
Was driving the vehicle and it started to stall. Managed to get it to a parking lot where it died out. Thought it was the battery got a new one to move from the parking lot. Proceeded to drive the car home from the parking lot about 1 mile away. It started to give out and stall again so I pulled over. Popped the hood open and the altanator was smoking so I turned the car off. Even after I turned it off it still smoked and sounded like it was cracklings like a fire luckily it did not catch on fire. My question is if there's recalls on 2011-2014 Chrysler 300 altanators why is there not one on my car?.
