36 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/20/2015

I first noticed surging at idle when in gear, this grew into stalling during stops and now is stalling/stumbling while driving. I've had multiple times where the car would completely stall while moving and had high potential for danger. I have no engine light and no engine codes. This car is an srt8 and driven very seldom, especially now. It's actually parked now due to this issue. The maintenance has always been meticulous and mechanics have come up dry with trying to figure this out.

40 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/23/2015

The car began to stall, losing power at around 20mph. The first indication of something being wrong was the failing of radio, a/c and dimmed lights. The car began to jerk, shake, eventually coming to a complete stop. It was preventing shifting from drive gear to park gear. After a few moments, it allowed shifting to park and turned off. Initially thought the battery failed, so replaced it. Later discovered the alternator was cooked. Then determined the issue was related to a recall on the alternator.

48 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/07/2015

After filling up with fuel the vehicle stalls about 3 or 4 times. I looked this issue up and there was a recall, but it was VIN specific. I refueled on 7 January 2015, and was turning onto a busy highway, the car stalled while I was turning, I placed it in neutral and restarted it. About 1/2 mile down the road it again stalled, I lost power steering, and once again had to put it in neutral. The automobile stalled one more time and then resumed normal operation. I am afraid that this will happen when I am accessing an interstate where the consequences will be much worse.

50 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/20/2014

My 2006 300m dies if you fill the tank until the gas pump shuts off automatically. This has happened numerous times to us. I have owned the car 3 years, and this has happened 10-15 times. It has happened after filling up at many different gas stations. The car stalls. It can be restarted, but might stall multiple times. After the car runs for a few minutes or travels about a mile the problem resolves it self. -this has happed twice when I was merging onto expressways after filling up. Dangerous! the first few times it happened I complained to the dealership. They said, "they hadn't heard of this problem, and told me not to over fill the gas tank!" it must be the owners problem if they have a dangerous design flaw!.

51 Car Stall problem of the 2009 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/26/2014

I own a 2009 Chrysler 300c, which has been having consistent problems with the engine shutting off while driving down the busy highway. The vehicle is stalling, quitting, not starting on the first try, fail to keep running once started, or completely stop on its own recognizance. I feel unprotected because my vehicle automatic shut off and could cause death or serious injury. The performance of this vehicle and its equipment is leading me into unreasonable anxiety for my safety due to the sudden stopping in heavy traffic, leading to no steering power, no electric signals, and grave possibility of death. This vehicle is only five (5) years of age and should not be showing signs of inefficiency.

52 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

My car stalled on a stop light twice last November 2014 and January 25, 2015 after I fill up my car. I turned off the car and then turned on the car again and it drove. For now it is working but I'm afraid it will stalled again while on the road.

54 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/10/2014

While driving app 55 mph at app 8pm at night my cars lights and all the dash lights went out and the car completely stalled. I was able to turn on flashers and coast the car to the side of the road. I sat there for several minutes and then the car restarted. Fortunately there was no one following behind me. I have been out of town on business and used a company car. Upon my return I took my car to our local shop today. They were unable to detect any problems, however shared an article stating more than 150,000 Chrysler owners have had similar trouble. They contacted the nearest Dodge/Chrysler dealer in aberdeen washington who offered no help or information. They could give no reason for the incident. We have not received any recall notice, nor information regarding any possible problems. How should I proceed? I am unable to drive my vehicle for fear this may happen again, and this time I may not be so fortunate. This has created a significant burden and stress. It seems someone should be accountable and that there is a significant liability by not being notified of this significant safety issue. Is this an issue I need my attorney to address? thanks in advance for your help. Kathy spoor.

55 Car Stall problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/19/2014

I was entering the freeway and at about 45 mph the car just stalled dropping speed to about 15 mph so I released the gas pedal and started to gain speed when I was going to merge onto the first lane at about 50 mph the car stalled again stopping the traffic behind me. I almost drove off the freeway to avoid the cars behind me. Thats the scariest but like a month ago it did the same thing at a stop light it just wouldn't respond when I tried to take off so I had to turn it off and start it again.

60 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/02/2014

When my key is turned to the "on" position without fully starting the vehicle, it starts stalling at low speeds and will not start without pressing the gas pedal. This will continue for approximately one week before the vehicle will return to normal performance. By normal performance, I mean it will start without pressing gas pedal and no stalling at low speed. When taking vehicle for routine services, I must inform the technicians not to place key in the "on" position or the problem start all over again. So far, I've had one accident due to this problem.

62 Car Stall problem of the 2009 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/01/2014

My vehicle stalled while turning into a driveway. I had to coast to a stop and restart the vehicle. It has stalled many times on me while at a low speed. Usually it happens while turning corners, going into driveways and sometimes at stops. I have almost been involved in accidents because of it stalling while turning. I have taken the car to my mechanic several times and have had a myriad of things fixed but to no avail it still does the stalling. If you know of any problems with this vehicle stalling I would like to know what I can do to fix this problem and if Chrysler has had this problem with other vehicles. I feel unsafe as I never know when it will happen.

64 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/01/2014

I stopped at a stop sign and the car stalled. It started right up, but had a hard time finding drive when I put it into drive. After that it ran fine. This same problem has occurred many times since. It happens randomly with no warning. It seems to happen more often after refueling, but also happens at any fuel tank guage reading. Also the car hesitates at freeway speeds on occasion, but doesn't stall when this happens. I took the car to two dealers and after spending $500 they couldn't fix the problem. I called Chrysler and they were no help. My wife won't drive the car and I fear it will stall pulling out into traffic after a stop. After some investigation I have realized that thousands of 2006 300c owners have had the same problem and Chrysler is fully aware of this issue. How the dealers can pretend they have never heard of this problem and take money from me to fix the problem with my car, knowing they won't fix it, has to be criminal. Safety concerns were never addressed by the dealers or Chrysler as well.

66 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/26/2014

After I fill my tank the vehicle will stall over and over. This has happened many times.

67 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/08/2014

Very shortly after refueling my car (probably driven less than 1000 feet) the car shuttered and stalled. It restarted immediately but then shut down again within the mile. Again, it started immediately and I had no more problems until the next time I filled the tank and it stalled again almost immediately upon exiting the gas station. Again, it restarted on the first try and I had no more problems for the rest of the trip or since. However, I have not refueled since; so don't know what will happen when I do. I have taken it to a dealer and it is deemed I need a new gas tank. Gas tanks should not wear out and our car is low mileage and in mint condition. This seems like a faulty design problem. It is clearly a safety issue with my car and I suspect with others who own the same model. (I did not "top off" the tank on either occasion. ).

68 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/07/2014

On three occasions the car stalled, twice while sitting waiting for a stop light change and once when entering the street from an access street going approximately 20 miles per hour. This has never happened before.

69 Car Stall problem of the 2006 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/06/2014

The car was filled up with fuel and no more than 2-5 miles from the gas station while driving the engine cut off with no warning while in traffic. Was able to restart the engine and continue on and within a mile it stalled out again in traffic. This time the car would not start. The car was pushed to the side of the road. The oil pressure light was also coming on so did not want to push the car and cause further damage. After 45 mins I restarted the car fine and was able to drive 1 mile before it stalled out at a stop sign. Again no warning and the car lost all power and you were unable to stop the car easily or turn the wheel since all power was lost. The oil pressure light did come on again but did not occur until after the car engine cut off and all power was lost. This time time I checked the oil and the level was fine but I still added an extra quart of oil. Then within 5 mins I was able to start the car and drive it the rest of the way 1-2 miles to the dealership. Upon arriving at the dealership we checked the error coded. The dealership than changed the oil and did a full inspection and drive of the car and was unable to reproduce the issue I was seeing before going to the dealership.
