Truck moved into my lane, tried to honk horn(s) but failed to work. Once in a quiet place, discovered horn makes a very faint noise but no honk and no volume from either horn. The fact that it makes a faint noise means it is getting electric signal but failing to work as it should. Extremely dangerous, put my life in danger and now won't pass inspection. Horn not working with engine off is also dangerous in parking situations.

14 Horn Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/06/2012

This car is a lemon! I see other people's issues and I cannot believe this car hasn't been totally recalled and overhauled! every month since I got it ( my first used car!). . It was at rental company for 1 1/2 years then I was the sucker that bought it! the tie rods go once a year and mechanics 'all talk who Chrysler made them bad I guess" then the goodyear intregrity's hydroplane. . . . The suspension sounds like beverly hillbillies. . . I was told that the noises I hear are not the shocks I had replaced but are now the actual front arm controls of my car that are rotting away. . . Another thing is the engine "kicks in hard" when going into 2nd shift (automatic). . The horn is hard to press. . The front tires rub, you can hear then when turning even though I am up to date on rotors and pads. . . Let's see what else OH yes just paid $400 because the car started to overheat so when I was there getting that fixed I told them how my car has always had condensation on it in the winter. . I can chisel off the ice particles on the inside! they said I needed a whole new housing of some sorts fixed so they did that. . Hum what else? OH now the engine light is on and the car is chugging and jerking like I'm in a farmer's tractor! it's 10/2013 and I have 2 more years to go to pay. . . I have no more $$$ thanks Chrysler. . God bless America. . . 2 more to pay on this. . I should have stuck with Honda or go Toyota!.

15 Horn Assembly problem of the 2008 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/06/2009

Excessive effort is required to operate the horn. The driver must strike the horn pad cover with much stronger than typical force, and only in certain , very specific locations before the horn will sound. In a panic, a driver will likely not meet these location / force requirements and the horn will not sound, resulting in other drivers and pedestrians not receiving a warning. The Chrysler dealer has replaced the horn pad, but no improvement to the horns operation resulted. The dealer has informed me that they believe that horn system meets factory tolerances and specifications, and they will no nothing further.

I took the car back to the dealership & the representative who was great in trying to get an answer for me. She open up a case for me with you all. 17 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/07/2006

I drive a Chrysler 300c, when I purchased the car I felt the car veering to the right. Well I had taken the car in to the dealer and I was told that I needed a wheel alignment and I also needed to have my wheel rotated. Well I did that and still I had the same problem. So I took the car back and was told that I needed another wheel alignment and my wheels needed to be rotated I did all of that and I still have the same problem. I also have a problem with my horn not blowing when the car is not running. I find all of the above complaints to hazardous and dangerous to myself, family and friends. I am told by the dealer that there is no problem. I have tried calling the service manager for the last two days and have yet a receive a response.

Failure Date: 01/01/2006

Dead spots on steering wheel where horn is located. Have to find certain areas where the horn will work. Very very dangerous in quick situations. The horn only works when it wants to. It takes a lot of pressure to activate the horn.

21 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 09/06/2005

2005 Chrysler 300c - 2 issues 1) horn is difficult to activate. The button on the steering wheel is difficult to press, and sometimes does not sound the horn. This is a safety concern. 2) horn does not operate while the car is off. This is a design feature (flaw, in my opinion), which may not be a safety item, but may be related to item #1.

22 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/28/2005

4/04 my wife and I purchased a Chrysler 300c at riverfront Chrysler, we reported to them on numerous occasions the car stalls out when making a left or right turn, dealer claims it was a hose causing stall, when car stalled again dealer claimed it was control module when car stall again dealer claim to see no duplicating problem this has been going back and forth for months now other electrical problems are happening the horn don't blow all the time the back driver window don't always work, passenger airbag light goes off and on, driver door misaligned car brakes and tires are giving us problems.

23 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Horn is extremely difficult to work, only a small area seems to work. In an emergency it would be difficult to find this "spot".

24 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/08/2005

2005 Chrysler 300c/Dodge magnum, horn button in steering wheel difficult to operate especially in emergency conditions. Horn also does not work without key in and engine running.

25 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/06/2005

The horn button on the steering wheel of my 2005 chryler 300c requires excessive force in order to operate. During several "events" over the few months I have owned this car, I have been unable to operate the horn on the first press of the button. It is simply useless as a timely warning device.

26 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/06/2005

Horn requires extensive pressure to operate in "key" locations on steering wheel. Often, horn does not operate in emergency situations. This is almost identical to the 1995 chevy impala ss horn problem due to airbag placement in the steering wheel. This should be addressed now, otherwise there will surely be accidents which were avoidable if the horn operated properly.

27 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/02/2005

Chrysler 300c 2005 horn difficult to operate in emergency situation - must try pressing in several spots - there is no specific horn operating marking on the steering wheel.

28 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/07/2004

The consumer stated that the horn would not blow unless the key was in the ignition. The consumer did not find this out until after he had purchased the vehicle. The consumer complained to the dealer and went to the dealer. The consumer found that all of the 200 Chrysler 300's had the same problem. This is a safety issue. The horn would only activate in one spot.

29 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 10/05/2004

I am the owner of a 2005 Chrysler 300c. I noticed that my horn is inoperable unless the key is in the ignition and turned on. In talking to other owners, it appears that this is a common trait on this new vehicle. I brought it to the dealers attention when I had it in for service. They checked other new vehicles in their inventory in stated that they were all like that. They then contacted Chryslers help line and were informed that "unbeleivable as it is, that is the way the vehicle was designed". In my opinion, this could pose a safety issue. If I am sitting in my car with the ignition off and the possibility of someone backing into me is imminent, I will not be able to warn them with my horn.

30 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/16/2004

Was parked in post office parking lot and other patron backing out of spot. Went to honk horn to warn them to look up but the horn did not work. Result was bumper smashing. Ignition has to be on for horn to work in this car. Is Chrysler 2005 300c.

31 Horn Assembly problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 06/15/2004

The horn is very hard to blow, and when the key is not in the vehicle the horn won't blow at all. . Consumer is concerned if there is an emergency he cannot use the horn to get help. . . . . . The thick vinyl/rubber horn pad has several areas where the horn does not blow. Essentially, there are only two spots on the entir epad where the horn activates. It is poorly designed.
