A software update came on my screen when I driving. I pushed the update button on the screen and it started to update it stopped at 44% and then my car battery started losing its charge. After a few days the battery was dead and had to jump it to get it started. I took it to the dealer they said I would have to pay for it. I called uconnect they assigned me a case number to give Chrysler where my car has been for 5 days.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300. While driving 60 mph, the transmission and check software lights illuminated and the vehicle stalled. While on a busy highway, an independent mechanic arrived and changed the battery. The contact was informed that there was an electrical system failure. The vehicle was driven to the contact's residence. The failure recurred three times. The vehicle was not diagnosed nor repaired. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 16v240000 (power train) and stated that the part needed was not available. The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 46,000. VIN tool confirms parts not available.

As you probably know, not only Chrysler vans are affected, the entire product line including Dodge and Chrysler cars, vans and SUV's. Also Jeep. I have a 2014 Chrysler 300 s purchased Dec 2014. The tipm failed 1 month later in Jan 2015, while driving on an expressway the car lost power. I was fortunate I was not rear ended. The dealer did nothing and never mentioned anything about the tipm , they did a software update for the tcm then sent me on my way. It failed again in Feb 2015 the car would not start, and all instrument cluster icons flashed and start button would not return to off detent, a low pulsating sound audible in engine compartment, wipers moving slowly with switch in off position the only charged the battery had 27 error codes, no mention of the tipm. In March 2015 lost navigation and phone paring. At that time they tried to duplicate the problem and kept my car for 18 days. Again they sent me on my way and never would admit the tipm is at fault. I also have payments each month, and am terrified to drive the car even for local errands. Chrysler resolution has my report and assigned a case number for this issue in Feb 2015. They asked to allow one more repair [the 18 days they had it] and would then make a decision for a refund or replacement. This past Wednesday Mar 9, I received a call from Chrysler resolution and the told me they will do nothing ! Chrysler has sunk to the lowest possible level of customer service. They have more regard for profit than they do for safety. My vehicle is unsafe to drive.

On 01-17-2015 less than a month ago. While driving home, the car surged/hesitated and seemed to lose power. I also noticed the check engine icon illuminated. I was able to move to the expressway shoulder and shut the engine then restarted it, but the check engine icon still was illuminated, and the shifter would not shift. It was locked. No p, r, n, d, or s. I tried to make a telephone call via the vehicle's bluetooth but all my data base was gone. It was working earlier in the day. I shut the engine and exited the car to make a cell phone call. When I re-entered the car I was able to engage the shifter to the drive position, but the check engine icon was still illuminated, as well as other instrument cluster icons were missing and some were present that should not have been. However the car would not move until about 3000 rpm. When it finally did move, it moved very slowly, relative to the engine speed. Finally it shifted to a higher gear and seemed to drive normally. I exited the expressway and drove around the residential area to re-assure myself that the car would get me home safely. It was late Saturday night and the dealer was closed. I re-entered the expressway to rerun to my home. I never knew what gear the transmission was in. Paddle shifters were inoperative. While driving home I the navigation map was intermittently glitching, instrument cluster icons some missing many flashing. Also no cell phone. The dealer claimed the problem was corrected, but the work order stated 181905a1 transmission control module, software flashed. I assumed the problem was corrected but because it took place only one month old car, I became apprehensive. They never mentioned anything about the electronic/tipm failures that occurred with the instrument cluster. At this time I had no idea what a tipm was ! slightly more than one month later my vehicle failed again that was a tipm failure.
The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler 300c. The vehicle was taken to the dealer for routine maintenance where the technician advised the contact that the software would have to be updated under a voluntary manufacturer's recall. After the update, the contact stated that the warning chime that would warn him when a vehicle was in close proximity would no longer function and had been disabled after the update. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure and the vehicle was not repaired. The approximate failure mileage was 6,938.
My 2005 Chrysler 300 limited with 41,000 miles has had numerous problems. The latest problem is with the keyless remote entry keyfobs. Both fobs now do not work. The control panel indicated the battery was low. After replacing the battery, the panel still indicated the battery was low. After opening the spare fob to replace its battery, found the housing that holds the battery had completely separated from the circuit board. Took the car back to the original dealership, where all the other problems have been dealt with. The dealership told me since my car was now out of warranty (the car is only a little over 2 years old), I would have to pay $311 for two new key fobs and programming. In the meantime, I am dealing with locking the car, and then unlocking it through the door, letting the horn sound and the lights flash, looking as if I am stealing my own car until I can drop all my packages in my hand and get in behind the wheel and insert the key into the ignition. Other problems, after 15,000 miles, the continental self sealing tires had to be replaced. Fight for this problem with continental people! after numerous phone calls and faxes, continental did replace the tires at a charge of $250 for four new tires. The navigation system on this car was replaced three times. The button which controls the view broke all three times. All the speakers have been replaced in the car. Since it is now out of warranty, they can't be replaced again. They sound awful and that is the way they have to stay until I can afford to upgrade my "premium" Chrysler stereo system with a premium system from an electronic store. The sunroof was not closing properly. Took it to the dealership before the warranty expired. They performed a "software update" and supposedly fixed the issue. Two weeks later, I took the car through a car wash and was flooded with water coming through the sunroof. Z.
