5 Electrical System problem of the 2015 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/01/2025

This issue has been going on since February 2024. The vehicle will completely shutdown while driving ( no matter what speed I'm going ) it will say service the shifter and stop. The first time this happened I took (towed bc vehicle willl have no power since this a saftey issue ) the vero beach Chrysler dealership the vehicle to commuter cars in port st lucie which is the dealer I purchased the car from. They kept the vehicle for 2 weeks. I paid 644$ they said they replaced the shifter and that was the problem. 2 weeks later the same thing happened while driving , I took ( towed )the car to Chrysler . Chrysler charge me 200$ and said there was nothing wrong it was the safety recalls. 5 months later it happens again I take the car to Chrysler they charged me 1000$ and said it was some type of connecter . A month later it happens again I (towed) it to chysler they said the ecm shifter module had dried up coffee on it and they wiped it off and its working fine. They charge me 445$ said it needed a battery. Now it has happened again 2 months later and they are just now saying my ecm shifter is bad. The service manager was rude and disrespectful. I have our conversation recorded. I said why am I just now knowing this after spending thousands of dollars towing this vehicle back and forth. My son and I could have been in a major accident because the car shuts completely down while driving. They never once check this and the car has been to them 4 times.

Delamination on screens has been known to cause the screen to black out, especially during backing, and buttons will randomly be pushed. Chrysler, recall this issue. Thank you.

7 Electrical System problem of the 2019 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/08/2025

Unknown. The car shut off while driving. Flashing a code put in park and the d on the shifter knob was flashing. Vehicle wouldn't start for about 30 minutes. It was making a loud noise while trying to restart. Then it ran like normal after that. We are not shure but we think the fuel gage and low fuel light are not working properly. We put a few gallons of fuel in it and it started normally with no no loud noise.

14 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 08/06/2024

The vehicle's lcd screen has become delaminated which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. The car will randomly beep, change air temperatures, start navigation, cause the loss of hands-free communication. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to ac/heat, navigation or radio (volume, etc. ). This appears from Chrysler forums to be an issue among a large group of Chrysler 300 year model 2018 owners. I am encouraging them to file a concern with your group and to ask for a recall of the car for this reason.

18 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 07/01/2024

The uconnect 8. 4 radio navigation can't find a satellite to operate properly. Also the screen is delaminating and making it so selected buttons don't work. Since this is an information and entertainment system that controls everything, including radio, navigation, and hand-free phoning, temperature of the seating, it causes a huge distraction while driving. And the gps not working causes location problems. I believe this also is how the company can find the vehicle if lost. I have taken the vehicle to the dealership and they can do an update but also state that the this could cause the entire system might not work at all afterwards. Not guarantee that this won't cause more harm than good. As many of these systems that have this problem, there should be a recall to fix this.

19 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 05/07/2024

Chrysler model 300s vehicle, 2018, repair service by an authorized Chrysler dealer in puerto rico, certified the replacement of original manufacturer parts of the power steering (rack-pinion) on three occasions, which does not accept the programming of technical support by the automotive specialists of the authorized Chrysler repair shop. It is evident that this vehicle faces a hidden problem from the manufacturer which had not been detected until now. Diagnosis could not replace the part because the programming defect by the manufacturer was not found. It is important to start an investigation into the power steering known as (rack-pinion), it is working correctly for the driver's safety to drive safely on the roads without this defect, which could not be corrected by the automotive technicians authorized by Chrysler in puerto rico, causing an accident. While driving my child to school a short while ago today, my car accelerated on its own and would not brake. I was attempting to stop for an upcoming red light. The car accelerated without me pressing the gas and the brakes went completely out. I was able to avoid a collision. 22 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/23/2024

The touchscreen that controls the heating, defrost, radio, and various items cycles from one screen to the next is turning on and off each selected item rapidly. For example: one minute the defrost will be on, the next the radio will appear, then the phone, next other items. As it does this, it shuts items off like the heat and defrost. I believe that to be dangerous as the windshield will fog over impairing vision and it is generally distracting my concentration from the road. I have been online and there are numerous complaint and forums about this dangerous issue that should be addressed by the manufacturer.

23 Electrical System problem of the 2012 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/19/2024

I lost all power to my car randomly, I replaced my alternator, battery, and pcm as well as the pigtail harness for my alternator. The car has no power inside at all besides my taillights and brake lights stay on. 24 Electrical System problem of the 2022 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/19/2024

Just had this problem on my 2019 Chrysler 300. Recall came years after I had it and after I sold it. I got lucky and found out and got a reimbursement for the repair. Recall issued for "faulty diode on alternator". Very dangerous b/c the car will just cut out on you when you are trying to accelerate. . . Like crossing a road etc. My 2019 I didn't have long enough to see if it was an issue but now my 2023 Chrysler 300 is doing the same thing. Would not surprise me if it's the same faulty parts for every model. When you accelerate it just putters and loses power. My 2019 I got reimbursed on it had white smoke and ended up burning out another $1000 of electronics that I did not get reimbursed for. It's one of those things idk if they can detect it until it breaks or not.

25 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/11/2024

The computer issue has been on going for a while. The computer screen jumps around on its own changes air and heat settings, radio settings, blanks out on the rear view site while in use. Transmission skips on take off and bumps when changing gears particularly reverse and park. . . . . . Recently, last week, the car cut off in the middle of turning into a drive way no warning light or sign of distress. I attempted to start it and it just clicked like it was out of gas but wasnt. The (p) for parking kept blinking because it would not go in park completely so it never started . I had to use the parking brake to prevent it from rolling. I towed it to a auto repair shop and it was determined that there was an electrical fault with the fuel tank. So almost 1,ooo$ later it was replaced and its running however the transmission is not quite right. Im concerned about the fuel pump issue because it was sudden with no type of warning light etc. Theres been no "park outside recall' for this VIN# and I would like to know what I should to do to somewhat ensure my safety . Thank you for your consideration during this difficult time. I hope to hear back with a solution or advice.

26 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 03/04/2024

Have been having power steering problems over the past few years. Started by displaying a shift to park message while driving, my car would then lose power and shut down completely and power steering would lock up. Have taken to dealerships and independent mechanics and was told it was the wiring harness which they repaired several times and the car continued to have the issue. Approximately 3 months ago I was driving 55mph on highway when suddenly without any warning, the power steering failed and locked up making it very difficult to turn the wheel to get the vehicle off the highway safely. The power steering locking up put myself, my passengers and other drivers at risk bc I had no control over the steering. When I got the vehicle off of the highway a message repeatedly coming on and off saying “service power steering “ and another message saying power steering assist off service system. I was able to get the vehicle home, however the steering was extremely difficult especially in turns which is a major safety concern increasing a risk of an accident. I have done a lot of research about this issue and have found that there are numerous others with the same issue and same make/model as my 2016 Chrysler 300 c. I took the vehicle to another independent mechanic and they told me they couldn’t figure out what is wrong with it. I made another appointment with another mechanic and when I attempted to drive it “manually” as I had to do when it initially started doing this, the electric power steering has now completely locked up and the wheel is not functional at all and power steering has completely failed. This is not only a huge inconvenience but a serious safety hazard and should be investigated by the manufacturer.

27 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/27/2024

Over the last month I noticed that my brakes would feel funny sometimes, like they were going to just grab suddenly vs stopping slowly. Then yesterday, 2/27/24, I received a warning that my esc and abs systems needed service and that I no longer had awd capability. The message would stay on for several minutes, then shut off for several minutes, then come back on again.

28 Electrical System problem of the 2016 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/09/2024

Main fuel pump and accompanied electrical connect. The fuel pump and electrical wiring harness is available upon request. My safety was at risk due to a faulty electrical connection inside the fuel tank. My vehicle made a loud hmming sound at a stop sign, upon continuing forward the vehicle shut off randomly. Upon inspection, the fuel was not sending to the engine. We bought a new fuel pump and replaced at the side of the road. When inspecting the oem fuel pump and accompanied electrical connection, we noticed over heated wiring and melts plastic inside the fuel tank on the underside of the fuel pump, as well as burnt connections on the outside of the fuel tank on the tip side of the fuel pump. We have pictures to support. No warning signs, signals, or lights were present at the time of failure. When purchasing new fuel pump, there were no instructions for replacement of electrical connections. The only indication we found as to what was happening was through public forums online, showing the electrical wiring was faulty and needed replacing with the alternative wiring harness due to wiring (hot wire, b+) being located too close to the grounding wiring causing it to burn amd/or arch creating a problem with which could cause fire and explosion. No information was readily available nor have we received any information on potential catastrophic injury or failure.

29 Electrical System problem of the 2018 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 02/02/2024

My 2018 Chrysler 300 u connect radio screen is delaminating getting bubbles. It’s causing it to press random buttons uncontrollably which causes the control of the radio, air conditioning, navigation, and other features controlled by the "radio" portion of the car to become dysfunctional. It’s very distracting, climate controls turn on and off on their own, it’s makes phone calls on its own. The backup camera isn’t working right, the car is available for inspection. The safety of me and others is put at risk because it’s very distracting and unsafe to drive like this. This is a safety hazard as it causes the driver to be distracted in order to attend to the incessant beeping and issues related to ac/heat, navigation or radio & it could easily cause a car accident. I have taken it to a Chrysler dealership where they told me I will have to buy a new one and it’s not covered under warranty. I personally am struggling financially and can’t afford it. I first noticed this a few months ago when the screen started getting big bubbles.

30 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 01/01/2024

My backup camera works when it wants to mostly not at all. It just flickers when I put the car in reverse. I really need it because of the blind spots. Also since the fuel issue was recalled and fixed my car smells like it's not burning the gas properly. In other words I can smell fumes.

31 Electrical System problem of the 2017 Chrysler 300

I am encouraging them to file a concern with your group and to ask for a recall of the car for this reason.

32 Electrical System problem of the 2014 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 12/02/2023

The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler 300s. The contact stated while driving approximately 60 mph the vehicle stalled. The contact stated that the check engine, transmission and traction warnings illuminated. The contact was able to pull over and was able to restart the vehicle after multiple attempts. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who diagnosed and determined that the engine failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 17v741000 (electrical system) and that she should contact a dealer. The vehicle was not repaired. Additionally the contact stated that the cruise control had failed and the light was constantly showing that the cruise control was engaged, however the contact stated that it was not. The contact researched online and related the failure to NHTSA campaign number: 18e053000 (power train). The manufacturer was not informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000.

33 Electrical System problem of the 2005 Chrysler 300

Failure Date: 11/05/2023

This is a serious safety concern regarding the shift interlock system on my 2005 Chrysler 300. When the vehicle is in park, particularly in traffic, and the light turns green, I am forced to lift the coin attachment and manually press the pink interlock just to change gears or accelerate. This creates a dangerous situation where I am unable to move the vehicle promptly, potentially leaving me vulnerable to a rear-end collision. The issue stems from recall 05v462000, which specifically addresses a shift interlock defect that Chrysler has failed to address despite my repeated attempts to have it repaired. Chrysler has not taken any action to resolve the recall issue, leaving me in a potentially life-threatening situation every time I drive. It is unacceptable that this recall has not been acted upon, and this critical safety defect must be corrected immediately.
