The contact owns a 2005 Chrysler 300c. The contact was driving approximately 15 mph when the transmission failed to respond and the engine rpms began to increase rapidly. The vehicle was towed to an authorized dealer for diagnosis where they detected that the transmission deep stick was completely rusted and melted onto the transmission. The vehicle was in the process of being repaired. There was a recall under NHTSA campaign id number: 05v460000 (power train:automatic transmission) but the VIN was not included. The failure mileage was approximately 47,000.
