Transmission Stuck In Gear Problems of Chrysler 300C

Car completely shuts off out of nowhere even going 55 mph on the highway, almost caused a major accident! starts jumping gears mainly when the rpm is at 1 going into 2. When this happens the lights in the car flicker. After the car dies out, when you restart it its stuck in neutral even though you are in drive. Once you shut it off again and restart it, its as if nothing was wrong. There is a brand new alternator and a brand new battery in the car and it still shuts down whether you're going 55 on a highway or sitting at light ready to take off and it dies out then as well. I have children, this is very dangerous and scary! I have read that many individuals are having this same exact issue, please do something before someone gets seriously hurt. Thank you.

Gear shifter on my 2006 Chrysler 300c got stuck in park on 6/25/17 at about 98,400 miles. Luckily car was in my driveway when problem occurred and I was able to look up this issue online and found out this is a common problem with Chrysler vehicles. I was driving my car to work and I stopped at a stop sign. I made an attempt to make a smooth merge into traffic but my car made little effort to move. I stepped on the gas and it struggled to speed forward as if it was stuck in a high gear. In order to get the transmission to shift again, I had to pull over, turn off my vehicle, and turn ot back on. After work, a similiar issue rose. I was in stop and go traffic and when I hit the gas to move forward, it struggled until the vehicle gained speed of about 10mph, then it picked up speed as normal as if it was stuck in 2nd gear. When I got home, my engine temperature reached 217 which is well above normal. The car isn't giving me a code so I can know what exactly needs to be fixed.

My 2005 chryscesler 300c has only 44240 miles n it and not abused since my wife and I are totally disabled vétérans with special "dv" registration so we can be driven to the vétérans hospital for medical services. On sat8/30/14 while in the garage and not being used for at least a week, my car's stick tranbsmission shifter was stuck in park and would not allow the use or movement of the car from the garage. The usaa tow truck carrier had to drag the rear end of the car out of the garage onto the flabed truck to take it to the Chrysler dealership in waldorf, MD, where all the warranty work has been done on this car from "day one!" I was told that it was the 2 cheap plastic pink switches on the stick mecghanism that had to be replaced at a charge of about $250 to me and the tow charge also and this was recurring commom "problem "with the car year and reported to Chrysler as a recall. I will initiate a class action suit if necessary under 28 usc in federal district court in greenbelt, MD, for redress of any costs to me. It is a safety issue since in motion, this gear shift could not respond to any change in gear in any emergency and cause the driver to panic.

Gear shift stuck in park. Called Chrysler dealer about getting it fixed, but said "your VIN" isn't part of the recall that they have on it. Its some pink plastic thing that breaks, the "customer satisfaction notification k39 - transmission shifter interlock lever" apparently only applies to certain "VIN"s. Chatted online with "customer care" agent at Chrysler which was brief, she stated my VIN isn't covered I'd have to pay for repairs, as she was rude, so I didn't get an answer as to why only some vins are being fixed when there are tons of people having the problem. A simple search on-line brings up over 150k results, and I see here there are complaints too for the same problem. An actual metal solid replacement piece costs $15, I'll have to get the dealer or a mechanic to install it (the dealers replace with same plastic piece or replace whole shifter). . . Seems this is another "gm ignition switch" waiting to happen. Hopefully this issue won't cause any deaths. I would like to know why only some vins are being fixed.

So far this has worked but there needs to be a permanent fix for this problem. Along with the car cutting off my driver side mirror dimmer is not functioning properly. The mirror has an orange tint to it and when I look at it the images are blurred. There are list of other issues I've had with this car but I would be typing all day.

My 300c seemed to stick sometimes, but with a nice pull it would engage, until yesterday. I'm glad I was home, my gears stuck in park and I have no idea what to do now. I hope there is a recall on this part.
