Chrysler 300M owners have reported 2 problems related to transmission solenoid (under the power train category). The most recently reported issues are listed below. Also please check out the statistics and reliability analysis of Chrysler 300M based on all problems reported for the 300M.
While traveling at 50-60 mph I had noticed the rpm to be just over 4000. I let my foot off the gas and it remained at just over 4000 rpm and the check engine light had come on. The codes are p0700, p1776. Car just randomly throws itself into second gear or goes into limp mode and stays locked there. For now, once you turn the car off and back on again, you can drive with normal gears. However, once you hit 50-60 mph, the transmission automatically goes into limp mode and stays locked in second gear. All signs point to solenoid pack assembly.

2004 Chrysler 300m. Consumer stated he experienced multiple transmission failures. The consumer stated upon exiting the interstate, the vehicle went into limp mode (locked in 2nd gear) a few second later, the engine light illuminated. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where it was determined that a new valve body assembly was needed. The vehicle was eventually repaired. However, the consumer encountered the problem again when the vehicle suddenly went into limp mode. The consumer went to another dealer and it was determined that the valve body assembly was initially found to be at fault. However, it was further diagnosed to be the solenoid pack (part of the valve body assembly) that was faulty. The new solenoid pack that was installed just 3 days earlier was an obsolete version that had been superseded by an improved design.
