I was driving my car and fault something wrong with the steering and went to make a right turn I heard a noise and my car front passenger side of my car was on the ground and my wheel was under my car. Thank goodness for no one else being involved that day and thank god I wasn't hurt badly. . . I have never seen or have anything like that to happen to me. . . I'm glad my children wasn't with me. . . I'm glad I wasn't traveling down the road when that happened. . . . .
Front ball joint came off and caused car to come to crash into road. It is now in a repair shop where I had it towed as it was causing problems sitting on road. If I had been going faster I m not sure how serious a problem to me or others on road it would cause. Possible death. It is being inspected by advanced automotive, 503-364-2046. The car has less than 50,000 miles on it and I don't understand how a front end (ball joint) can go wrong that quickly. The only warning I had was a squeaking in the front end. Is this something normal? the mechanic said that there was a recall on this problem. Since I bought it used from a Chrysler dealer you would think they would clue me to the problems. Ha ha.

The airbag light has been in for a long time. I know someone that has the same car and their car has the same issue. Also the true gage reader is malfunctioning. Now I have problems with the car stalling on the roadway. I called Chrysler about the recalls and the said everything has been taken care of. They couldn't tell me who brought the car in fir repairs. I've had the car for 8 years. I dont think the issues have been resolved. They should at least be able to see who brought the car in fir the repairs. The headlights will sometimes go off when going around turns. I met the previous owner and he told me that these issues are why he got rid of the car. Please help me get the recalls fixed so something bad doesn't happen to us in this car.
Driving down road, around 10 miles a hour, the car suddenly went clunk on the left side, and would not move. Got out to check, and the entire piece that holds the tire on was laying on the interior of the tire rim.

That worked for a little bit today to broke down. Luckily in my drive way this time instead of the middle of road like last week. Why is my car doing this?.

The steering is tight 80% of the time. I found out I had bad struts after putting it on a lift what else could it be?.
I was driving home and turned down my street going only 5 mph and the left front wheel came off.
I drove into a gas station and as I pulled in the tire sounded as if it was flat I checked it and it looked fine. I tried to drive of and the front drivers side wheel did not move. I removed the tire in the parking lot to try and find out what was wrong, I couldn't see any visual issues. As I backed out to try and drive the car the balljoint came out. I had to pay to get my car towed from new jersey back to my town in NY for $110 and then on top of that had to pay to get towed again to a mechanic and with the repair fees ended up spending $500 for repairs. Also my oil light comes on when the car is in idle. Even came on as soon after I got an oil change.
When turning steering-wheel to the left or right there is a knocking noise. The fix is the replacement of "gear-rack" with inner-tie-rods, and front-end realignment at a cost of $1000. 00. This seems to be a chronic problem with this series of the Chrysler Sebring. . Read more...

On February 14 2012 something on my left driver side wheel broke, I could no long steer and the wheel laid outward toward the ground. There is a long arm like part, that was literally hanging off the wheel. It is now unoperable. This is very dangerous and I am so glad I was only going about 30 mph due to traffic, I was able to move to the shoulder without a auto accident.
The contact owns a 2007 Chrysler Sebring. The contact stated that when driving 60-70 mph, the vehicle would exhibit a loud, abnormal grinding. The vehicle was taken to the dealer who advised that the ball bearings in the alternator failed and the alternator would need replacing. This complaint follows others that own the Sebring conv. And the sludge buildup,. I also do reg. Maint. On the vehicle and now have an engine that has siezed & failed in the middle of the highway almost causing a pileup. I have researched this vehicle and have found numerous complaints on this problem, not only on this site but several others, I also understand that a class action suit is being brought againt Chrysler on the 2. 7ltr engine for this fact. The oil light kept flickering took it in to have it checked out and could not find anything wrong, levels correct, it would go out for awhile and then boom. This would go on like every 3 months or so since I haved owned this car . Never again Chrysler. Will it take a death for you to order a recall on these engines???.
Passenger door master switch malfunction, driver window rolled down by itself during ice storm while driving on highway would not roll back up. Had to purchase and replace with new switch. Faulty rear camber in both right and left rear wheels. Both leaning inwards about 12 degrees, ruined 2 new tires, had to spend $670 for camber kit, and $200 for (new) new tires. Transmission herky jerky.
I have a 2005 Chrysler Sebring I have owned for 2 years now in 2008 I was driving and heard a loud pop and a thud I got out and noticed that the rear strut mount shattered and the strut was loose so I drove it home and called the dealer they said there is a back order on them due to the constant failure of these so I was able to get 2 from their partner dealership someone instead of fixing their car they traded it in er something to that is what I was told so I put them on, now its 2009 Dec 23rd I changed the rear struts and front due to the car having 171,000 miles on them I took the good mounts off that I had just purchased a little over a year ago and they are showing signs of wear also but I threw them on since they was better then the ones I just bought with the new struts from a junk yard I would like you guys to look into this matter its a common problem with these cars dating back to 1999 or 2000 its all over the internet when they first shattered I contacted Chrysler about this matter and got hung up on several occasions when I told them the issue is all over the net about the same problem I do have old parts that was replaced in 2008 and the ones off of the used struts that I just purchased I have alot of friends that have a Sebring or have had one and they complain about the same issues if it wasn't a issue why was the strut mounts in 2008-2009 always on back order and dealerships could only get a limited # of them per month due to the problem.
I was driving my vehicle and started to hear a knocking in the rear of my vehicle. I stopped at a muffler/shock dealer and they had to replace a broken upper strut plate and bearings on the right rear, because these parts had completely rusted away. My vehicle is only 4-years old. About a month later, the same thing happened to the left rear of my vehicle, but the shop could not locate any repair parts. There are so many of these parts breaking the dealers can't keep the parts on hand. I was told by Chrysler corp and other parts dealers; that there are over 9,000 of these strut-plates on back order. This makes driving the car unsafe, and with these many breakdowns the vehicle should be included in a recall to reimburse owners for this expense.

Since purchasing vehicle in 2006 the horn has been going off by itself. . Whether driving or sitting stationary. I have had to bang on the horn pad area to get it to stop. After years of having to do this to stop the blaring horn, it now has a short. . Runs down my battery but will not blow at all. I have had to pull the fuse to save my battery, however, because it will not blow, I cannot get an inspection sticker. Therefore, I have had to drive with an expired sticker since August 2016 as I cannot afford the hundreds it would cost to fix the horn on this vehicle. This is not my 1st complaint about the horn issues on this vehicle. I have also discovered that there have been numerous complaints about this horn issue on this vehicle. . However, nothing has ever been done to resolve it. Recently, a lady backed into my car in walmart parking lot, damaging the bumper and breaking the light because I had no horn to blow and warn her. This is just one serious issue with this car. . This thing had been a lemon since day one. . From the front steering shaking horribly while braking to both rear struts breaking to rain water getting inside the doors and flooding the interior and shorting out the electric windows.
: the contact stated while driving 15 mph the front right tire flipped sideways, the front drive shaft sheered off the oil filter and knocked it from the manifold. This occurred on an icy road during normal braking without warning. The vehicle was pulled to the contacts home. The dealership and manufacturer was notified however, no repairs have been made.
When first taking off vehicle will intermittently pull to the right. Dealer could not duplicate the problem.
While traveling on the highway the vehicle pulls to the right while traveling on the highway. The dealership is aware of the problem. Mr.
