I was driving from getting my daughter from school and felt heat and saw smoke coming from under the dashboard. I immediately pulled over and pulled my daughter out of the car the dashboard became engulfed in flames. I was told by the fire department that it looked like and electrical and fuel issue under the dash. There are known problems with this vehicle catching fire but my cin number when I looked up recalls did not have any on it. My insurance company also stated they had many claims against the make model of vehicle regarding fire issues do to manufacturers issues.

Engine shut down while driving. Will restart if put back into park and restart. Has happened two times in the past.
SUV stalls while driving. I have tried 2 dealers to honor the recall and neither would accept performing the rework required. I called a local dealer here quirk and they said they do not perform recall work. I called the dealer we purchased the vehicle from and they said it was against their policy to work on cars greater than 10 years old! how can I get this problem fixed?.
Abs/tcs/ebp/esp warning lights all illuminate during system check at 8mph. Diagnostic code c2200 - internal module fault. Ongoing issue. Appears to be ambient temperature related. Internet+forum searchs find this exact condition very common on 2008 model Chrysler minivan. Requires abs controller replacement with has been discontinued by mopar. 2008 was the only model year to utilize this particular part number. 68030939aa. Superseded by 68030939ab.

I was driving in chattanooga TN when it happened the first time. But the van just shut off so I made it to a parking lot turned the switch off then it started right back up and it happened again on my way home. It has happened multiple times. The the ecm light came on so I had it replaced now the engine won't do anything at all.

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that she had experienced multiple electrical failures with her vehicle. The contact stated that the air bag and gas cap warning lights would intermittently illuminate without incident. The contact had taken the vehicle to a dealer who diagnosed the vehicle with a defective tipm (totally integrated power module). The contact was given an estimate for the repair. The manufacturer was also notified of the failure but offered no assistance. The vehicle had yet to be repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 130,000.
My van has a failing tipm and apparently this is a common thing with these vans. It causes the horn to sound, wipers to start even when the vehicle is parked with no one in it and the engine off. It also causes the vehicle to shut off the fuel pump causing the vehicle to shut off while driving. Chrysler is well aware of this and refuses to issue a recall, even though this is something that happens to many of their 2008 vehicles.
The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle intermittently shut-off without warning. Upon investigation, the contact discovered NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system, air bags) which she linked to the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The wires became lose and unraveled in my power sliding doors on both sides. Now the door do not work/open on their own the windows won't go down, heated seats do not work. And when I try to open the door and shut the door, all of my dash lights will turn on, windshield wipers will go on.

The abs control module is defective and the anti-lock system is not operating correctly. I have had to replace brake pads 3 times in the last two years. I took my van in for brake repair and the service tech (who had worked for Chrysler previously) detected the issue and found the recall affecting the vehicle (NHTSA campaign # 09v351000). Fca has a technical service bulletin out on this issue and this is a recall out for this problem, affecting my make & model year but my VIN number does not apply to the recall. How can this be?.
My van is not starting right away as it usually does. Had I been on the road would have caused a accident. The throttle light is on at the start, first it was the oil light. Had some mechanics say fuel pump but then read it is a fuse issue with the throttle.
All lights on gauge cluster are on and I don't have turn signals from the inside and no fuel registered no gears light up gauge cluster does not display any information.
Low beams driver's side won't work. Repair mechanic says it is a faulty tipm module shorting out and needing total replacement. Noticed significant number of owners with the same problem. Repairs costing close to $1000. Oo. Where is the government recall?.
My driver's side low beam led light will come on when the car is cranked but begins to flicker and will cut completely off within 5 minutes of cranking the van. It will sometimes come back on and go off again. Replacing the bulb is not correcting the problem.
The wireless switch wont start/turn over my van and I look up my van and it has a recall on it its a 08 Chrysler town and country touring lx.
Multiple times the van will intermittently stall while driving down the road or stopped in traffic. First the dash lights flicker, speedometer and rpm gages go to 0, and warning lights such as esp, traction, abs, airbag, battery etc flicker on and off and occasionally hear almost a spark through radio speakers, then everything shuts off, both electrical and mechanically. When that happens I lose power steering and cannot get my hazards or brake lights to work. One time I could barely press the brake pedal, or steer and it was at night which means the vehicle was completely dark with no kinds of lights at an intersection with my 2 children and myself inside. So very scary! it gives me the worst anxiety to drive it and I'm too scared to sell it as I feel I would be knowingly selling a very unsafe vehicle. Occasionally the sliding side doors do not operate properly. First time the other night while the van was parked I hit the automatic shut button for the sliding door and lost all power to the vehicle and then it popped back in and operated fine. I have had multiple mechanics look at it and nobody can figure it out. Bought the van used in March or April of 2020 and had issues starting just 2 weeks after purchase. The van is now at around 108000 miles. I am out of money, a vehicle and options. Please help from a very scared and desperate mother who otherwise loves her minivan!.
When you switch to the start position you get a click but no start. If you repeat it enough times it eventually starts.
Vehicle shuts off while driving, warning lights come on.
I had a recall for the ignition key fixed by Chrysler/ Dodge and when I got it back I had fuzes popping and the sliding doors quit working, check engine light was on for 15 different electrical codes including ones for the dvd player. They checked to make sure there was no short or anything in the whole vehicle and there isnt. They could not find the issue. Now the whole vehicle has an electrical issue and fuzes keep popping for no reason.
The vehicle was running in the highway. Check engine light goes on an the all panel lights began to flash make like a whisle noise and shut off. After a while it starts again but in about 2,000 meters do the same four times. We need to call a truck crane. I have read a lot of person with this issue, spent a lot of money replacing various pieces and remain with the same problem.
Chrysler is stating that the VIN number for my 2008 Chrysler town and country does not have any recalls yet I've taken it to a dealer and the win which is the l25 recall does not exist for this van but that is the exact problem I am having.
The rear liftgate cannot be opened manually when there is a fault from loss of signal. This should never ever happen as all liftgate should be able to be operated and opened manually. This was a terrible design by the engineers.
While traveling at speeds less than 40 mph, and typically within 5 minutes of starting, the vehicle will shut down all power (engine, electrical, and brakes) while driving, making it very hard to stop the vehicle, and very dangerous . I have taken it to the dealer and they stated it was overheating and result of the coolant system leaking, which we had them fix, and problem continues to occur. There was no way it was overheating that quickly after starting. Dealer has refused to look at other postings online that suggest this is a prevalent problem, and unrelated to the coolant system.
The fan stays on even when the car is off. It is draining the battery and I have to diaconnect the battery just to turn the fan off.
Van randomly fails to start. No warning lights. Symptoms are random and sporadic. Something in the engine seems to click, but engine never turns over. Vehicle was stationary and ran fine the day before. This has happened multiple times now.
The cars alarm goes off and winshieild wipers and sqirts windsheild washer fluid when car is off and only way to make it stop is disconnecting the battery. Also when we were on tge expressway the windsheild wipers went off and the minivans brakes went on by themselves.
Various odb codes involving tipm issues, which has now progressed to vehicle stalling while driving down the highway and city streets.
