When starting the vehicle sometimes the ignition switch becomes engaged and does not release automatically back to the on position. This causes the engine to continually rev and not complete engine start up.
Every time the I remove the key in the ignition after driving the vehicle, it does not either turn off and keeps running or the key can not be removed after placing it in park. I have 2 sets of key fobs, and it happens to both of them. It has gotten to the point where I will not drive it with my family of 6. I have been receiving letters from Chrysler stating that they have no time table for a replacement of the ignition switch. It has been over 2 years of letters with no answer in sight. Starting to get to the point of hiring an attorney if nothing is getting resolved soon.
My Chrysler town and country had performed the recall on the ignition switch however my van still shuts down while driving. At first it started upon morning when first starting out the day, but now it shuts off even after 45 minutes of driving the vehicle causing me to loose control of the steering and having to be cautious so that I wont be rear ended or worse. I have taking it in to be diagnosed but the technicians after having the van hooked up to their diagnostic machine are still unable to see anything wrong. No error codes are showing. Also now, while parked and the engine off with no keys. . . My doors will just open by themselves or automatically lock. It did it yesterday morning however my car was running, the van locked sounding my alarm that sounded as if I had pressed the key to lock. I hope that someone can call or email me to give an explanation what could be the problem as well as how I can resolve this problem,.

My vehicle shuts off while driving making it very dangerous. The ignition switch clicks and the van shuts down at the same time consequence: if the ignition key inadvertently moves into the off or accessory position, the engine will turn off, which will then depower various key safety systems including but not limited to air bags, power steering, and power braking. Loss of functionality of these systems may increase the risk of crash and/or increase the risk of injury in the event of a crash. This is what I found out to be the issue in most cases. There was a recall back on June 2014; they fix that problem in my vehicle on June 2015; now is back again; they say there is no recall on this problem, but it continues resurfacing. This problem happened four ( 4 ) time in the month of November 2016 already during driving time ( vehicle in motion); also some times won't even start right away; back in 2014 it was call: recall campaign id 14v373000 dated June 26, 2014. Could be recall l25 or r03. Not sure which one is the correct, they have told me r03.

While driving less than 15 mph, the vehicle independently surged forward at a high rate of speed and crashed into the rear of another vehicle. The contact sustained a whiplash. I am the operations manager for a livery service on cape cod that uses Dodge and Chrysler minivans for public transportation service. I've been trying to get the parts for the ignition switch recall since June 2015, and my local dealer keeps telling me the parts are not available. Fca keeps sending me notices, and I find it disgusting that anyone should wait over nine months for the parts for this vital recall. Fca should be ashamed of themselves for not making these parts available in a timely manner.
Upon purchase of the vehicle (Feb 2015), we received a safety recall notice on the ignition switch (r03/NHTSA 14v-373). Went to dealership (dick meyers Chrysler/Dodge in harrisonburg va) in may 2015 and was told that we were "on a list" and would be notified. Never heard from them. Did a follow up on Jan 28, 2016 and was told the same thing - "on a list" due to backordered parts. This delay seems ridiculous and obvious to us that Chrysler doesn't want to swallow the cost and hoping people will just give up.

I received a safety recall on the ignition switch around April 2015. We made a booking at the local dealership, dick meyers Dodge in harrisonburg va. I've made repeated inquiries for getting the work done, but every time get the same answer in that Chrysler is slow in getting them the supply of replacement ignition switches. It's coming up on 2 years since making the booking and still no results. This seems ridiculous in that it is taking so long and there's still no anticipated delivery date.

I talked to the Chrysler dealership and Chrysler customer service, and they said they have no parts for recall l25 (ignition switch). We received our notification last fall for the l25 ignition switch recall, now it is March of 2015 going into the 8th month after this recall was made official, and we still are waiting for a safe resolution. Now we view the operation of this vehicle as a safety liability.
