The contact stated that the manufacturer exceeded a reasonable amount of time for the recall repair. The manufacturer was made aware of the issue. The failure mileage was approximately 89,000. Sg.

2 Instrument Panel Failure problem

Failure Date: 04/26/2015

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. While driving at 55 mph, the windshield wipers activated independently and the radio failed to function. In addition, the contact stated that the gauges, meters and lights on the instrument cluster panel failed to function. The contact also stated that the doors failed to unlock using the fobik. As a result, the contact had to manually unlock the doors. The vehicle was taken to a dealer who diagnosed that the totally integrated power module (tipm) needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The VIN was included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v139000 (electrical system). The failure mileage was 88,000.

3 Instrument Panel Failure problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the instrument panel malfunctioned intermittently. The contact stated that NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system) had exceeded the reasonable amount of time for repair. The dealer and manufacturer were not made aware of the delay. 4 Instrument Panel Failure problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the key was difficult to turn and start the ignition. In addition, the instrument panel failed several times and the vehicle stalled. The contact received notification of NHTSA campaign number: 14v373000 (electrical system) and stated that the part was not available to schedule a recall repair within a reasonable timeframe. The dealer did not give a specific date for when the part would become available. 5 Instrument Panel Failure problem

The contact owns a 2008 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the windshield wipers would turn on involuntarily and all the lights would illuminate on the instrument panel. This failure also causes all the of the gauges on the instrument panel to fail. The contact stated that the last light to illuminate was the (no bus) light, which causes the headlights and brake lights to flash. As a result, vehicle would stall. The vehicle was taken to an authorized dealer on several occassions in which a wiring harness was replaced. The failure continued. The failure mileage was 54,000.
