1 Engine Crank/camshaft Position Sensor problem

Failure Date: 12/22/2021

The contact owns a 2009 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 10 mph and pulling into a parking lot, the vehicle inadvertently stalled and the ignition key was released. There were no warning lights illuminated. The contact stated that she reinserted the key into the ignition switch and restarted the vehicle; however, the failure reoccurred as she was attempting to pull into a parking space. The vehicle was towed to an independent mechanic who diagnosed that the camshaft had failed and needed to be replaced. The contact stated that the vehicle was repaired; however, the failure reoccurred twice while driving from the independent mechanic to her residence. The vehicle was taken back to the independent mechanic. The contact contacted an unknown dealer who advised that they were not aware of that specific failure. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 174,000.
