My wife was driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. She was approachign a stop sign intersection when this occurred. All 3 of my kids in the car. The electronic stability control lights came on, power steering and brakes were affected. Vehicle was turned off and restarted. Very dangerous. There are multiple train crossings in my area and my wife and I drive these routes frequently. This seems to be a common concern based on the complaints and needs to be resolved before someone is seriously injured or killed. I urge anyone who experiences this to report it to the NHTSA. I urge the NHTSA to open an investigation and initiate a recall on this matter which could potentially affect thousands of drivers (vehicle owners) as well as the public at large.
Over the last year our van has randomly stalled out while driving but lucky it happened on side roads where we could pull over and then restart it. We took it to a local shop and they could not duplicate the problem but told us there was a recall but our particular VIN was not part of it. Then itt didn't happen again for several months but it was also covid time so we were not traveling near as much. Then this week it happened to me and I was able to pull over, turn the car off and restart it, regaining all functions. Then yesterday I was driving with my 4 children during rush hour traffic going 40 mph on a very busy 4 lane road when my traction control light came on (like it does everytime this happens) and I lost power to the engine, power breaks, and power steering. I had no way to move my car off the road to a safe spot and here I was stuck in the middle of a very busy road scared to death. This time my car would not turn back on like it had in the past. That was the scariest day of my entire life as I watched cars swerve to avoiding hitting us with my precious cargo inside. Thank god a police offer got to us before the worst could happen. Chrysler is lucky because if something would have happened they would have had the largest lawsuit on their hands since they denied my recall request. Now my car is sitting at the shop waiting for them to open back up in 2 days. I am still shaking and having nightmares of what could have happened to my life yesterday. Chrysler needs to address this problem now!!!.

The vehicle's engine stopped running six different times since December 11, 2019 while driving between 25 to 40 mph. All of the power, engine, etc. Just quit and I coasted to the side of the road. Put it in park, turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle with no problem. The last two days, the vehicle has stalled twice. The traction control light has also come on. We have taken it to firestone who ran a diagnostic on it and could not find the problem. This is a very dangerous condition and appears that there are numerous individuals that have had the same problem. We have attached the invoice from firestone where they ran the diagnostic.

Ever since Chrysler issued a recall and replaced the ignition the car stalls while driving down the road. All power is lost and we have to pull over and hope the car starts. Usually it does however sometimes it requires a jump start. It's not a bad battery! I have had it tested and I continued to use the same battery to this day. Over a one year time I have logged probably 50 stall events. Moisture humidity seems to make it worse. Learned this when I moved from maine to tucson. But now it's stalling a lot here in tucson although it is monsoon season. The dealership said it was due to the weight of keys hanging from the ignition key, the problem is I bought the car new and have never had anything attached to the ignition key. I only carry the ignition key by itself. Nice try Chrysler, but you are wrong. I need to state this stalling problem did not occur until Chrysler issued a recall to prevent stalling instructing the dealership to replace the keys and ignition. Chrysler says it''s my problem I need to pay to fix, I say they created the problem and need to pay to fix. Maybe the ntsb should investigate! didn't gm have a problem like this?.

Approximately two months ago the 2010 t&c began being sluggish to start. We replaced the battery and it started fine. A week after it began to stall with the dash lights turning on and off. A day or two later it began to stall and turned off in traffic. The battery has been checked and it is functioning - the local mechanic performed a diagnostic test and no code was present. Currently it had stalled and turned off several times - extremely stressful and dangerous.
I see many complaints on NHTSA regarding Town & Country vehicles with electrical problems, with many related to car not starting, or car stalling. We have sent emails to Chrysler asking for help with how to fix this issue. This is our 3rd Chrysler vehicle. We are happy with the brand but are losing faith because our mechanic/dealer cannot solve the problem specifically, our 2010 Chrysler t&c minivan has trouble starting when it is hot (temperature outside or when car has been running a long time). We have replaced the battery, and had our dealer and an independent mechanic try to figure out what is wrong and how to fix it, without success. We have performed the electrical key ignition recall. Please ask Chrysler to solve the problem and tell dealers (and everyone) how to fix it thank you.
Vehicle stalls randomly while driving. This causes steering to lock and breaks to malfunction. Very dangerous. This has happened on several ocasions.
Vehicle stalls between 20-40 mph on city streets and the traction icon comes on. Power steering immediately goes out and the vehicle must be pulled over and restarted. Problem was very intermittent when it first appeared 3/31/18 but now happens on almost every trip, typically near the beginning of the trip (11/21/18). Mechanic has failed to replicate, diagnose, or fix the problem.

Vehicle stalls at different times and under different conditions. Dealer could not troubleshoot or repair the issue. Van will stall driving at low speed (20-30mph) and occasionally at higher speeds (40-50mph). Vehicle completely shuts off and has no power. Extremely dangerous to drive.
For the last 4 months our 2010 Chrysler town and country minivan, an otherwise reliable vehicle, has been stalling while driving. The failure is extremely predictable and occurs under the following circumstances. After a cold start while vehicle is still warming up. In a coast down situation, like stopping for a traffic light, or slowing for a turn. Seems to be worse in wet environments. What happens during failure: the traction control light goes on. The van completely shuts down. You need to put it in neutral and restart. Since this vehicle is stalling on the road while in motion, in many instances it leads no near collision situations. Since the power steering and breaking go off its hard to corral. Even when you expect the failure and are ready to drop it in neutral, it causes you to manipulate the vehicle rather than keep your eyes on the road. I might be able to capture this on video if that would be helpful. I have serviced this van according to the manufacturers instructions.
2010 town and country can has been stalling while driving the steering locks as well as the breaks. It usually happens when I'm going between 20 to 35 mph. Iit will completely die in the middle of the street and the worst is crossing a busy intersection! I have taken it to several mechanics and unable to find the problem some of them just ignore this dangerous problem. It has shut off in the middle of rush hour with my kids in the van. There has been several town and country van owners with the same problem. When will Chrysler corp or anyone going to address this issue before someone gets killed? this has been an on going problem since last year with no help!.
Vehicle stalls without warning, typically when attempting to propel forward from a stop, but has also occurred more rarely at highway speeds. The electronic stability control and electronic throttle lights come on, power steering and brakes are affected as well. Vehicle must be turned off and restarted. Happened frequently prior to the recall fix, stopped for a period of time, and has now resumed worse than ever. So, so dangerous as I desperately fear being rear ended or t-boned if this occurs when pulling out in traffic, particularly when young children are in the vehicle. This seems to be an extremely common concern based on the complaints and needs to be resolved before someone is seriously injured or worse. Brought vehicle to dealer two weeks ago to repair, they could not replicate and no repair was completed. If you're reading this because you have a similar issue, please document it so that we can bring as much attention to this as possible in order to incite action.
While driving when engine is not up to temperature, the vehicle stalls without warning. Only indication is when the stability control light comes on. There is a loss of power steering and brakes. This failure happens more frequently when in turns when the accelerator pedal is not depressed. The failure recurred intermittently once or twice a week. The vehicle was taken to a dealer where it was diagnosed, but the cause of the failure was not found. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. Mileage was 70,000.
I bought my 2010 town and country in June 2015 since having it this incident has happened about 4 or 5 times where I am driving down the street going around 20-30 miles an hr when my esp light will come on and my brakes and steering wheel lock up and the vehicle stalls until I turn the car off and restart it. This is very frustrating and scary when I have children in the car.
2010 Chrysler t&c limited w/4. 0l engine. Engine died while driving 40mph in traffic on 4-lane roadway. Lost all power including steering, brakes, and heat (in mn winter). Strong armed steering wheel to get vehicle to side of road (no shoulder; blocked right lane). Restarted and began driving again. Died twice more in the mile left to home. Some history: changed out battery on 01/19/2016 and experienced stalling when engine was still cold at stop signs. Never stalled while under power; only when coasting to stop sign. Ran okay when warmed up. Cleaned battery terminals, throttle intake and maf sensor. Finally stopped stalling after following one-time procedure of disconnecting battery for 10 mins, starting engine and letting it warm for 25 mins, all without touching the accelerator. Idea was to have onboard computer relearn engine settings. Worked for a week before stalling occurred today while in traffic on main thoroughfare. Wife now refuses to drive it. Will take it to dealer, but am sure they will tell me what they tell everyone else who has complained on this website ("can't find anything wrong!").

I was driving down the road and the van stalled as I was driving. I had no power steering, no power brakes, etc. Luckily there was no one behind me and was able to muscle the van to the side of the road. This is the 3rd time this has happened to my wife and I in the last month. We have not had this issue before. After I parked the car, I was able to restart the engine and drive it. Upon further investigation while driving I noted that I could turn the key fob from the "on" position to the "acc" position as I was driving with very little effort! I did some research and found that there is a recall for 2010 t&cs for ignition switch issues similar to mine. When I called Chrysler, however, they informed me that my 2010 was not covered under the l25 recall. Please help. This is obviously extremely dangerous and I have to drive my 2 kids and my pregnant wife in this thing.
