1 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

Persistent electrical motor sound emanated from rear of car after parking and powering off (continued after removal of keys). Next day battery was dead, jump started engine with difficulty. Drove for several hours, but again would not start after it was shut off. Mechanic diagnosed faulty totally integrated power module, replaced at a cost of nearly $1,500. After replacement of tipm, new issue of airbag indicator light is on and several 12-volt power ports inside the car no longer work, both new conditions since tipm replacement.

2 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 12/16/2019

Van battery is dead every morning. Fuel pump countinously runs even after van is turned off. Sometimes stales while driving. Very dangerous especially with our children in the van.

3 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 02/19/2019

I drove to the grocery storeand placed the vehicle in park, turned off the ignition, locked the doors and shut them. I went shopping and came back out. The key fob would no longer unlock the doors. I used the manual key to gain access to the vehicle. I loaded my groceries. Enter the vehicle and inserted the key five into the ignition. The key fob was difficult to get into the ignition. Once the key fob was inserted into the ignition successfully, it would not turn. I am ensured that the vehicle was still in park. After numerous attempts to turn the key fob, I accessed the gear override panel and inserted a screwdriver, I move the gearshift into neutral, and then back into park. Then attempted to turn the ignition again. Still no power, and the key fob still will not come out of the ignition. Attempted to jumpstart a vehicle assuming that maybe the battery was dead. Still no change. Now I still cannot remove the key fob from the ignition nor is there any engagement from the ignition. Several vehicles of this make and model of previous years have had the same issue.

4 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2016

A few months back, my battery died (it was fairly new). After replacing the battery with a new one, I noticed there was a constant sound coming from the back of the car even when the car was turned off - turned out to be the fuel pump continually pumping. After disconnecting and reconnecting the battery a few times, the constantly running fuel pump issue went away. Fast forward a few months and my car starts having trouble starting. It randomly won't turn over - sometimes taking 10-20 tries before it starts. Eventually it won't turn over at all. After looking online and finding a shitload of other people with the same issue, I discovered the tipm "faulty fuel pump relay" issue with the Chrysler vehicles - including mine. I rigged a cable to temporarily bypass the fuel pump relay, and now it starts every time just fine. For the long term solution I will now need to pay to have the tipm module replaced. This is the last Chrysler brand car I will buy - it's one thing to have a problem with your vehicle you build (all car companies have issues), it's another thing to know that there is an issue and give a big fuck you to your consumers by refusing to address the known issue.

5 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 08/18/2016

I believe my issues started when my battery was dead after being shut off upon my arrival to work, within 3 1/2 hours. Battery was charged and started and made it home. 3 days later, without any notification of an issue through the onboard computer notification system, vehicle would not start. Tries to turn over, and did start after a lot of different efforts about 7-8 times(by fully depressing gas pedal when it would turn over to start and maintain rpms 3-4000 for a minimum of 5-10 seconds) and now will not start at all. After last attempts to start, and vehicle not running, you can still hear the fuel pump operating and smell of gasoline. Battery drain was noticed with 24 hours, and dead with in 2 days. When vehicle had started and able to drive a short distance, it would shut off while driving, or shut off upon stopping for a sign or red light. This is dangerous situation, as I am trying to take my 4 year old daughter and teen age son to school when this happened. I have been without a vehicle for over a month now, as this started 8/18/2016. Have lost work time and put my job in jeopardy, as I am in sales and need my transportation. I do not have the time to be running back and forth to dealers to only find out they know nothing to fix this recurring problem with their Chrysler vehicles, nor the thousands of dollars to spend on them trying to "guess" at what the issue is. Vehicles should be fixed if Chrysler actually knows what will fix it, or buyout the vehicle plus 5+% so people can replace this awful vehicle. In the meantime, gm financial still expects monthly payment on a vehicle that is worthless.

6 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 06/26/2016

Experiencing intermittent electrical problems. The van will crank fine one time and not just a few minutes later. It acts like the battery is dead but it's a brand new battery replaced by the dealer. It has been doing this off and on. The symptoms are a perfect fit for the tipm issues that other Chrysler vehicles have experienced and have been recalled for. It has plenty of voltage and amperage to crank, it just won't. Also when it does crank it will stall out, although, not every time. Sometimes it will crank normally and others you need to press the accelerator pedal. This also appears to fit the tipm symptoms exactly. The van has worked perfectly until this issue. This is a design defect that Chrysler should pay to correct in all affected vehicles. The most recent occurrence was the evening of 6/26/16. I drove the vehicle approximately 4 hours earlier and it cranked and operated normally, however, this time it would not crank. The interior lights and a/c fan all appear to operate normally, however, when I tried to crank the van all of the lights flickered but the van does not crank. I do not receive a low batter warning either, because the batter is brand new, replaced by the dealer at the beginning of June 2016. I attempted several more times but the van never did crank. That is why I am here. I am fed up with having to drive a van with an obvious design flaw. I am seeking resolution in the form of the the dealer correcting the defect at the their own cost.

7 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2015

Battery failure last month followed by a tipm failure this month. Battery cost me $220 to replace. I found out it could have been caused by the tipm failure. 8/12/15 could not start car. I took it back to the dealer and they told me the tipm was not sending a signal to the fuel pump and had to be replaced. It was not covered and it cost me $1050. 05 to replace. This seems to be a major issue with Chrysler vehicles.

8 Battery Dead problem

Failure Date: 08/12/2014

Car will not start normally either first thing in the morning or during day. Will take 5 to 10 minutes of attempting to get car started. Battery will die for no apparent reasons if left un-driven for a few hours or days. Car is currently at Chrysler service center for now 4 weeks with no solution on hand. They claim it is caused by a electrical draw and need to work on every relay and system to identify its source. I contacted Chrysler corporate for additional information on how to resolve, no response yet; it has been over a week. I have suggest that problem can be related the broader tipm issue affecting many Chrysler/Jeep vehicle. Service adviser had no interest and stated they must check every system as stated by manufacturer.
