In oct of 2024 my driver's side window shattered out of nowhere for no apparent reason! I heard this really loud boom then the window shattered ! I took it in the have the regulator replaced and the window. I also put a windshield in it at that time as well. Then in August of 2025 not even a year later and once again my window shattered and my winshield cracked. This time I was driving on the freeway and I heard a big pop the crash and in tiny pieces mof glass fell in to the door driver's side window .

3 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/10/2024

I wrote before about the electrical issue. My husband jumped started my car on 8/28/24. I drove down to my church for a women's bible study. I was there for 2 1/2 hours. When I went to leave my car would not start. I called my son. He jump started my car for me. As I was about to leave after a few minutes my car quit running. As the car was running every electrical component on the dash was going haywire, the heater fan was going full blast, but the windows would not go up. That was irritating as it started to rain. Had to cover the windows. Left the car in parking lot. Next day after church my husband tried to start the car. The car turned over and the battery light was on. Brande new battery was put in that week, as the following we thought that might have been the problem. He jumped started the car same thing as before. We had to have the car flat bedded to the mechanic. The mechanic tested the new alternator that was just put in and said it was bad. Replaced the alternator and car ran. He wanted to see what would happen so he kept car over night. Next morning car would not start. All fuses have been checked, fuse box has been checked. Nobody can seem to figure out what is going on with this vehicle. I have spent over $2000. An to no avail. I am ready to junk this thing. Mu dad said their was a caravan for sale I just read they have electrical issues also no way.

4 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/23/2024

Over 2 yrs now the electrical has been haywire. In driveway the interior lights on dash lights come on and and doors lock and unlock. Driving down road on dash tells you that must put car in park to engage. Lift gate ajar. Heater turns on and off full blast front and back fans. Side doors do not work/ or work when they want to work. Battery brand new gets drained and needs to be charged 1 every month. Had alternator changed. Still does the same thing. I call this my possessed van. At my wits end. Spent much money trying to find out problem unable to locate. Changed fuses did not help. This is my second town and country. I never had a problem with my first one which was a much older model that is why I got another one. Now I am rethinking about getting another town and country. Who is going to help with all of these customer complaints with electrical issues. I am a disabled person who needs my vehicle for appointments. I cannot get stranded or break down or have a vehicle fire. I am frustrated by this company for not caring for their customers needs.

5 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 04/11/2024

Van was sitting in driveaway in front of my house. We noticed smoke coming from rear of the vehicle and then saw flames. Contacted 911. Fire department arrived to put out the fire. They said something appeared to have shorted or exploded inside the driver side rear wall panel. Just below the rear window vent in the area of the 3 row speakers and cup holders. It burned down the exterior of the van near the gas cap.

2011 town and country started stalling while driving up to 40mph! the problem is intermitten and unable to be diagnosed by mechanic. This happens in the middle of traffic and power steering is lost. This is a known problem and was recalled in the several years before mine. This is a safety issue to everyone on the road and is a matter of time before there is an accident.

10 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/04/2023

During random times; starting cold, starting warm, coming to a stop, accelarating, on city surface streets or on the freeway, after long drives or just going down the street; the minivan would stall and not restart. Fortunately able to coast to side of road on occassion. Non start condition would last between 15 minutes to days. This last event occured while turning in a busy intersection. Blocked cars and buses in all four directions on a Friday afternoon rush hour, putting ourselves and others at serious risk. There were no warning lights or anything other than a brief shudder before stalling. Roadside service called 911 first to get us out of the way. Towed to local mechanic who duplicated event and found that two separate recalls for faulty fuel pump relay was issued for other models but not our minivan. This family vehicle is now a liability if the fuel pump relay replacement is not made available to us.

11 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/30/2023

My vehicle keeps locking and unlocking itself.

12 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/24/2022

The van has a problem accelerating and also seems to stall while driving on the expressway before jumping quickly into acceleration there was a bad storm in buffalo that I believe contributed to the problems of the Chrysler van.

13 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/21/2022

Upon leaving work my battery (only installed for 3 months) was completely dead. After a CO-worker jumped my van off I went straight to advanced and had them check the battery. It showed something was still on/running however the keys were in my hand and absolutely nothing was on or plugged in. He went ahead and replaced my battery. The next day I went out on errands and it started fine. That evening I was taking my family out to dinner and it would not start. It would crank but not start. I put it in neutral and back into park and it did manage to start. The following morning I went out and it would only crank. It would not start and the lightening bolt symbol and check engine light came on. First we changed the throttle body sensor (as indicated by the light). It still wouldn't start. After I had it towed to a garage they said the tipm was faulty and had caused the fuel pump to burn out. I have seen/read numerous other people saying this has happened to their vehicle as well. The exact same issues. This issue has cost me over $1,500 and I still haven't had the tipm fixed yet. With as many complaints on the same issue there should be a recall on this since it is obviously a manufacturing issue.

14 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/05/2022

Going down the road 55 mh van quit rear hatch and sliding side doors unlocked and opened van will not start. These vans were recalled for something like this in the previous years. This one should have been recalled to.

15 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 05/18/2022

"p0740" obd2 code, causing vehicle to fail state safety inspection. Issue is due to a defect within the transmission, very common with the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country. "dealer only repair" , very costly. Serious safety issue. Vehicle cannot be diagnosed by most certified mechanics. This faulty reading could mask very serious issues with the transmission. This issue needs to be expedited to review ASAP. Thank you.

16 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 03/02/2022

When we bought the vehicle the battery kept dying. The dealership installed a new battery and it kept happening. They eventually said that the fuel pump was not shutting down when the vehicle was turned off and they said they fixed the problem. Fast forward a couple years and the vehicle would not start. Took it to a trusted mechanic who diagnosed it needed a new computer. He said it is a well known problem with this vehicle and asked if we ever had the doors open on their on (we have). That is part of the computer problem and so is the fuel pump issue stated above. When I told the mechanic about the initial issue he checked the fuel pump and found that the dealership didn't address the actual problem they used shoddy wiring to bypass the fuel pump. He said the wiring was so loose that it fell apart when he touched it and said that a sharp turn would've been enough to disconnect the wiring and shut the vehicle down while driving. This would've been very dangerous. He stated that we were very lucky. Apparently this happens all the time with these Chrysler. He recommended we file this complaint.

17 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2022

The tipm is failing, not allowing the van to start when it gets so cold out. We were quoted $2000 to get it repaired. We found an article stating this is a common issue and was being repaired by Chrysler.

18 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 12/01/2021

2011 Chrysler town and country, starts then shuts off after two seconds. Check engine light came on last night. Remote start disabled. Vehicle will not start via push button, must use key fob in place of pushbutton. Again remote start will not work. Vehicle starts and shuts off right away. From research done, cause being tipm or fuel relay.

19 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/10/2021

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while at a complete stop on several occasions, the vehicle stalled. The vehicle was able to restart on some occasions; however, the vehicle failed to restart on other occasions and was towed. The vehicle was taken to the dealer several times; however, the failure could not be duplicated. The contact stated that the failure persisted, and the contact was able to start the vehicle with the index finger. The dealer was contacted and informed the contact that the failure could be related to the win module. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 129,010.

20 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/09/2021

The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that the vehicle would intermittently fail to start up after multiple attempts. The contact would then take the key out of the ignition and press the auto start button on the key fob for the vehicle to start without incident. Upon investigation, the contact's son related that failure to a defective tipm (totally integrated power module) which needed to be replaced. Neither the dealer nor the manufacturer was notified of the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The failure mileage was approximately 157,000.

21 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 11/02/2021

Vehicle would lose power. First problem was while at the gas station with my children (age 4 and 1) and with the key in the cup holder, the doors locked on their own. I had to call my husband to bring spare key. The next issue was the vehicle battery drained and had to get jumped. The last issue was the vehicle would not turn on. All of the lights turned on but would not crank over. Took it to my local dealership and was advised that the tipm failed.

22 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 08/26/2021

The contact’s daughter owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 25 mph up an incline, the vehicle stalled without warning. 25 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 02/23/2021

2011 Chrysler town and country with 114,212 miles. While parked, the car acts and sounds like it wants to, but will not start. Took it to the dealership and was diagnosed with a bad tipm (totally integrated power module) and fuel pump relay. This is a known issue and the same issue in recall p54/NHTSA 14v-530 for the durango and grand cherokee lawsuit settlement but for some reason the town and country and other Chryslers petitions were denied. After talking to Chrysler, they only suggested that I keep my receipts in case it was accepted as a recall but would not give any financial help on a $1400 repair bill.

26 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/28/2021

1) dash board lite up like a christmas tree, would not turn over. 2) next time no lights would come on, completely dead. Turning the key over did nothing, no lights. Key would also get stuck in the ignition 3) they determined it was the powertrain control pcm 4) originally the part was like $800, they messed on troubleshooting (fried my battery). They knocked the price of the part down to $517.

27 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/04/2021

This must be a recall concern. Chrysler really needs to step up and take care of this tipm issue. The most common problem was a defective tipm that prevented the engine from starting. This van fails while the car was being driven. Today 1-4-21, the van is again at the dealership for repairs for the same issue again and again I can't believe it. The Town & Country would be running smoothly one day and fail to start the next day. Why recall concerning them was never issued????.

28 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 01/03/2021

Lost power while driving on highway. Towed home. Tried to start and wouldn't turn over. Could only start in nutural drove to dealership coukdnt turn off or wouldnt start. Diagnosed as the tip went out.

Tipm is causing my van not to start, stalks going down the road.

34 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 10/01/2020

Entire van shuts off! this is exactly like the recall from one year earlier, it's the same problem. Why won't they increase the years on this and save some problems.

35 Electrical System problem

Failure Date: 09/30/2020

Vehicle will shut off with no warning. Engine is off. All power is lost. This is very difficult when driving due to loss of power steering, power brakes, engine power etc. The car will restart with no issues shown on the fault codes. Obd has no record of a problem. Very intermittent, very dangerous. Seems the same as the recall that covered up to the previous year. Many people claim the same issue.
