My wife was driving, the vehicle stalled without warning. She was approachign a stop sign intersection when this occurred. All 3 of my kids in the car. The electronic stability control lights came on, power steering and brakes were affected. Vehicle was turned off and restarted. Very dangerous. There are multiple train crossings in my area and my wife and I drive these routes frequently. This seems to be a common concern based on the complaints and needs to be resolved before someone is seriously injured or killed. I urge anyone who experiences this to report it to the NHTSA. I urge the NHTSA to open an investigation and initiate a recall on this matter which could potentially affect thousands of drivers (vehicle owners) as well as the public at large.

My van is shaking when I stop and stalls out when I stop. It also shifts poorly (jumps when shifting). I took it to medina auto mall who said the transmission needs replaced. It only has 55,000 miles on it. I noticed there is an active recall for power tran on the ones made right before (or after, I can't remember exactly which way it was) my van was made which is very frustrating. I should not have a to replace a transmission on a van I just purchased 2 years ago that I have taken great care of and has low miles on it. I paid 21,000 for this vehicle and it is disturbing that they are telling me the transmission is bad. I have 3 children and it is dangerous to be driving them around in this vehicle. Unfortunately, we are unsure what to do right now as we don't have the funds to put that much money into it. I put a date as to when it last happened but it has happened many times.

Over the last year our van has randomly stalled out while driving but lucky it happened on side roads where we could pull over and then restart it. We took it to a local shop and they could not duplicate the problem but told us there was a recall but our particular VIN was not part of it. Then itt didn't happen again for several months but it was also covid time so we were not traveling near as much. Then this week it happened to me and I was able to pull over, turn the car off and restart it, regaining all functions. Then yesterday I was driving with my 4 children during rush hour traffic going 40 mph on a very busy 4 lane road when my traction control light came on (like it does everytime this happens) and I lost power to the engine, power breaks, and power steering. I had no way to move my car off the road to a safe spot and here I was stuck in the middle of a very busy road scared to death. This time my car would not turn back on like it had in the past. That was the scariest day of my entire life as I watched cars swerve to avoiding hitting us with my precious cargo inside. Thank god a police offer got to us before the worst could happen. Chrysler is lucky because if something would have happened they would have had the largest lawsuit on their hands since they denied my recall request. Now my car is sitting at the shop waiting for them to open back up in 2 days. I am still shaking and having nightmares of what could have happened to my life yesterday. Chrysler needs to address this problem now!!!.
At 50,000 miles the transmission valve went out - causing the van to stall while driving. It was replaced. Again after another 50,000 miles this transmission valve is going out and the vehicle is again stalling while driving.

Car stalls and shuts off, car cranks but will not start this has happened numerous times in the past 24 hours, while driving it will unexpected shut off, this is a problem related to the tipm which has been recalled in other 2011 model vehicles such as the Jeep grand cherokee and Dodge durango. I have read forums where other 2011 town and countrys also had this same issue.

Transmission went with 56000 miles, getting the car back in almost 4 weeks. Now car just stops dead. Had to tow to dealer again same problem. Scared to drive because after getting car back engine rolls. Feels like stopping. I stalled yesterday at intersection and got towed to dealer. The fixed trans but now I have just stopping problem. Looking the problem up I find it's a problem with Chrysler. I can't afford to keep a lemon. Please check it out.
While driving even a slow or fast speeds it happens. This has been going on for months no warning the car will stall. . I lost power steering that is how I know the car had stalled. Then another time I did not go any where when I hit the gas again the that is how I knew the car stalled. It is a very dangerous thing for the car to be doing I have brought it to my mechanic on many occasion can not seem to find anything wrong.

The vehicle stalls and all electrical turns off when driving. When the vehicle is in motion and slowing down to make a turn the vehicle stops running and the whole electrical system turns off so there is no power steering, no brakes, the whole electrical system fails. The stability control light comes on after a few seconds and stays on until you pull over turn the key off and then back on. The vehicle restarts after you do this but it has happened 4 times in the last 3 days.

2013 town and country 2,4,6 cylinder misfire codes. The van will sputter and stall at times. Called Chrysler and the said it is not covered under the extend warranty of 150k miles. The warranty covers cars built up to July 31 2013. Our car was built August 22 2013. The exact same issues of all the covered engines but supposedly this motor had the corrected cylinder head. Even the dealership says this is the same issues as all the replaced heads he worked on. Unfortunately now I will need to get a new family car. Not a Chrysler!.
Car dies/stalls at random when moving. Have been going 70 mph down the rd and it has happened. When this happens it causes us to lose powered steering. This is extremely dangerous! it has stalled/died at various speeds. Sometimes soon starting the vehicle will die right away. Alternator has been replaced and that is not the issue.

While in motion on a freeway at freeway speeds my van just stalled. The traction control light came on first and then it just stalled. Luckily I was able to pull over safely. I called for a tow because the van would not start after that, it just kept cranking and would not turn over. The repair shop was able to start it the next day and saw a code p061c. Which means it would be 5 different problems. They are keeping it to drive it and hopefully get it to stall again. This is a major safety issue, what if my kids with with me and we crashed. How many complaints will there be before someone steps in to fix this problem. There have numerous complaints for this same issue. Hopefully something is done before someone dies.
Tl- the contact owns a Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated that while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled and all lights on the instrument panel stayed on, the contact was able to coast to the side of the road and powered off the engine. The vehicle was restarted and was able to drive normal. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed but no code was found. The technician informed the contact that there was a recall on the vehicle. The vehicle was not repaired and was not taken to a Chrysler dealer. The contact called herb chambers Chrysler Dodge Jeep ram fiat of millbury dealer, (2 latti farm rd rte, 20, millbury, MA 01527, (508) 757-7444) and was informed the VIN was not included in a recall. . The vehicle's engine stopped running six different times since December 11, 2019 while driving between 25 to 40 mph. All of the power, engine, etc. Just quit and I coasted to the side of the road. Put it in park, turned off ignition. Restarted vehicle with no problem. The last two days, the vehicle has stalled twice. The traction control light has also come on. We have taken it to firestone who ran a diagnostic on it and could not find the problem. This is a very dangerous condition and appears that there are numerous individuals that have had the same problem. We have attached the invoice from firestone where they ran the diagnostic.
Vehicle's tipm module failed, causing the vehicle to stall to a stop on a busy street. Hazard lights did not work. Transmission shifter locked itself in park. All cluster instrument warning lights were on. Uconnect sound system off. Power windows and locks disabled. Sliding doors locked and disabled. Engine remained running with key out of ignition. The vehicle's complete tipm failure, which also controls the hazard warning lights (which should be on an isolated circuit), contributed to a three car accident.
Multiple times the vehicle has stalled and completely shut down while in use. My father had it stall twice while on the freeway at freeway speeds. I have recently had the vehicle stall while idling at stop lights and stop signs when trying to proceed forward. We also had an issue where we took the vehicle out of park and into reverse and using the gas pedal was not propelling the vehicle at a proportional rate - and then when put back in drive the same thing occurred - the vehicle was still running. We had to park, turn it off, and restart the vehicle which cleared the issue in that moment. This is extremely dangerous as the vehicle completely turns off while you are in the middle of using it! we have our babies in these vehicles while we are using them! I have read too many other accounts of this happening to other owners who also are spending thousands of dollars for mechanics to go hunting for solutions - most of which do not work. This is unsafe and needs to be investigated as a larger issue with this vehicle. I'm listing my speed below as 5 mph because that has been a frequent case; however, another driver of the vehicle has experienced this at high speeds previously on my vehicle.
Our 2011 Town & Country started having starting/stalling issues about 3 months ago - mind you there is only about 81k miles on the vehicle. The dealer first replaced the power module in September, then the issue returned only to be causing more electrical issues. The car was taken back to the dealer and it was explained then that they had to replace the power module due to a faulty relay. This is the exact same issue that other Chrysler/Dodge vehicles of the same year are being recalled for. The stalling was dangerous as it happened while driving. This has been a very costly problem without a recall being issued - although vehicles using the same engine and components are being recalled. Please help escalate this.
Tl- the contact 2013 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving down the road, the vehicle stalled without warning and the instrument panel start to flicker. The contact mention that sometimes the vehicle would restart and sometimes it does not. The vehicle was taken to roberson motors dealer, 3100 ryan dr se, salem, or 97301, where the technician try to replicated and did not find a failure code. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle had no under a recall and did not assist. The failure mileage was approximately 75,000. Aw.

On August 14 , 2019 my van broke down on the interstate. A few hours later my car started back up. I continued to drive my car until about 2 weeks later it broke down again on the interstate. Since that time I have had over 10 brake downs that occured intermittently without any sort of pattern to the frequency or serverity. My car stalled without warning and shut down while in motion. My car loss power and became hard to steer and the brake assist shut down. There were no warning lights, sounds, or visual cues to indicate any sort of problems. Because of this sudden shut down it has become extremely dangerous and alarming to the safety of myself and family to drive. After the first two incidents I took my car to the Chrysler dealership, and paid for a diagnostic test. They concluled that they could not duplicate stalling conditions and therefore no resolution to the problem was given. After the problem continued I took my car to another local repair shop. They advise me of several possible problems based on the check engine code. I have spent countless of hours and money to find out what is wrong with my van. I have been given various recommendation: replacing thermostate, gaskets and coolant temp sensor, erg valve replacement, bad icm, bad esc module, bad key fob, bad ignition node, crank sensors, module coil pack, tipm replacement and the list go on and on. To resolve this problem, I would appreciate that Chrysler corporation pin point the problem and provide a repair option that does not require me to replace every single part of my vehicle to be able to safely drive again. I need to know what pre-existing problems that you are aware of that has caused the 2013 Chrysler town and country to stall randomly and to start back up after 30 minutes. I have contacted Chrysler and was provided a case number.
I was driving about 45 mph on a main roadway in ohio while on vacation. Suddenly, the vehicle went completely dead and stalled. All displays went black. I had no steering and limited braking ability. I was able to leave the roadway safely. Then, I put the vehicle in park. I was able to restart the vehicle, and drive back to our vacation home without issue.

Van started shaking and stalling, with engine light on. It would drive fine ot highway seeds, but shook bad and stalled at idle. I took it to Chrysler repair shop and they said it had a p0302 code. That is a misfire on left cylinder head #2 cylinder. After tear down it was confirmed it was #2 cylinder intake valve almost 85% leak down. (tech's statment) this required a new cylinder head. When we made appointment at schumacher automotive in delray beach FL. It was told to me my van was covered under fca recall of left cylinder head #2 cylinder recall. Upon dorpping it off it suddenly was not covered even though he used the same VIN info both times. The could not tell me why the difference in just one day. Between making appointment and bringing in. Tried calling fca in michigan and was told the left head issiue had been fixed with my model year even though tech has had every p0302 code 3. 6l engine requiring a new head, same as previous recal. My van has 73,000 miles and I purchased it used from hertz retal car. Fca said they could not do anything at this time unless I met 3 out of 5 questions about my van and me. I met only one and that was a loyal cusomer. No covererage.
