While driving at highway speed, 65mph, the 2013 town and country shut down. The dash instruments and all internal lighting shut off, the radio shut off and the blower fan for heat shut off. I lost the ability to steer and brake (power steering went out) but managed to maneuver the vehicle to the right lane. The car would not respond to any acceleration attempt. I tried turning the key while coasting down the highway, the vehicle did not restart. I then put the vehicle into neutral and tried turning the key and it did not restart. I then turned the key to the off position and then tried to restart and it successfully started. My dash instruments illuminated, the radio and heat blower came back on and I was able to regain control of the vehicle.

2015 Chrysler town and country lost propulsion power while driving, endangering 2 occupants and surrounding drivers. While driving on a residential road, vehicle came to a stop at intersection. Upon attempting to accelerate from stop and applying gas, vehicle jolted and would not accelerate past 5 miles an hour with transmission engaging and disengaging while shifter was in drive. Vehicle's transmission would intermittently engage and disengage for 1/2 mile with no warning lights or error messages. Vehicle idled as normal, but vehicle would not engage transmission properly when shifter set to "drive" position. Vehicle was then parked in driveway off of the road.
Vehicle randomly shuts off while driving. No warning lights are illuminated. Shutoff can occur at any speed and causes loss of power steering, braking etc. Shutdown requires immediate pull off to the side of the road. Once key is turned off and back on, car restarts.

Catalytic converter is reported to me as needing to be replaced. Check engine light came on which indicated this error. It’s only at 84k miles. Followed by needing new O2 sensors if the catalytic converter is replaced. Another error was the thermostat which needs replacement. We are looking at over $5k in repairs.
While driving the van in town it completely shut off. I was driving straight at 35 mph. It would not restart and had to be towed to service garage. When it shut off the first time all of the dash warning lights came on for a second then shut off. The garage said the ignition switch had to be replaced and the main computer. Then the Chrysler dealership had to flash the computer. They said they did and I drove the van 20 miles at 55 mph and it shut off again. No codes were shown when tested. I was able to get it started again after 20 minutes of sitting and tried to drive it again and it kept shutting off while driving 65 mph on the interstate. After several shut offs and finally getting it restarted I was able to get the van to a safe place to have it towed. Now it sits in my driveway because I am afraid to try and drive it again and get into a wreck when it shuts off because there is no warning at all. It just shuts off like someone turns off the key. This is a big safety issue and I am amazed it has not been addressed. I have seen a lot of people posting about their exact same issue with this van.

My van will frequently lose power and die while I am driving it, with no warning. I have to pull off and put it either into park or neutral then turn the key again to get it started again. This has happened more than 40 times over the last 15 monnths. My speeds have ranges from 25mpg in town to 65 mpg on the highway. Most recently on Saturday, October 4, 2025.
It stalls to turn on even when I changed everything from, fuel pump, fuel pump relay, heater pumps, alternator, new battery. And it still won’t turn on it’s been happening for 4 months now. And I changed things that were recommended. I do my oil change every time I need as well.

The van has stopped running on the highway without warning 3 times creating a very serious problem, had to be towed to get home, dealer could find nothing wrong.
Couldn't reverse vehicle after buying the vehicle three days ago. My safety and my passengers safety wasn't safe I almost got hit from the front and back trying to reverse the vehicle to go. I can put the vehicle in any other gear and it works but the reverse. I called the vehicle repair shop and bring it in to the shop where I was told they were going to work on the vehicle for free since I only had it for three days. I paid for the warranty part and everything. This the second car I bought from fett's city motors that been dangerous to operate on roads and highways.
Vehicle engine exploded in the middle of the night. Car would remote start on its own as I would lock the doors and walk away prior to the incident. Also the airbag light would come off and on. Notice the day of the incident that the dimmer would disappear and reappear. Very strange I thought. The house could've burned down while we were sleeping. If it wasn't for our neighbors and the quick response of those firefighters it could've possibly burned the house down while we were in there sleeping. The van was picked up by the insurance company two days ago. Not sure what happened as far as it being inspected yet. They have given me the silent treatment. Went to a Chrysler dealership, not where I bought it. This van has had one recall done in 2015. Rear quarter vent window switch.

The contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town and county. The contact stated that while driving on the highway at 70 mph when the vehicle stalled multiple times and the steering wheel seized, no warning lights were illuminated. The local dealer was contacted however the vehicle was not diagnosed as the contact was advised that the VIN was not included in any open recalls. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was not notified of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 120,000.
My vehicle has overheating problems ever since I have had it. I have had the thermostat replaced. The sensor thermostat replaced. The radiator flushed and had several shops look at it yet they could find nothing wrong but I go through antifreeze like crazy. At least 1 gallon every month. The temp reads 100 - 180 on hot days and it gets super hot.
Having to have a new oil cooling housing replaced at 94,102 miles. Also had to change out front struts around 87,000 miles.
There is a loud ticking noise coming from the engine. A mechanic said it’s a rocket arm failure. He said there are problems with them and were recalled in 2014. After researching the problem, it appears that the problem extends past the 2014 model year. You tube has hundreds of repair videos for this engine. The mechanic said that the problem will only get worse and can cause the engine to stall and miss and it will eventually freeze up causing a possible accident. Please investigate this. I have maintained this vehicle well with oil changes every 3000 miles. Thank you.
The contact owns a 2011 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving at various speeds, the vehicle stalled with the check engine warning light illuminated. The vehicle was restarted after a while. The vehicle was taken to holcombe automotive, where it was determined that one of the cylinder heads needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The dealer was notified of the failure and referred the contact to the manufacturer for assistance. The manufacturer was notified of the failure and informed the contact that the vehicle could not be repaired under TSB number: d-14-12 because the TSB had expired. The failure mileage was approximately 77,564.
So my vehicle, the key fob for some odd reason goes from in the run position to the off position, which caused my car to turn off while driving shuts down the entire car and with that makes it hard to stop.

In approximately 10 separate instances starting around December 12th when I was driving my 2015 town and Chrysler Mini van, it would lose power and shut off randomly. I would attempt to steer the car to the side or middle of the road (I lost the ability to turn the wheel), shut the car off and turn it back on and the car would start up again no problem. I took the car to the dealership three times for this issue and they were not able to find an issue any of the times I brought it in. It happened once when my daughter was in the car. I was concerned from my safety because I could have been rear ended. I avoid highway driving because of this issue.
The seals in the oil cooler adapter failed. Began leaking oil from the top of the motor down onto the exhaust. This could easily cause a fire when the oil drips onto a hot exhaust. Confirmed by several mechanics and replicated in nearly all vehicles with the 3. 6-liter pentastar v-6 engine. There was no warning lamps. The smell of burning oil was the first symptom. Followed shortly by seeing oil puddling under the vehicle.
Went to garage for vehicle to pass routine inspection. However, the oil filter housing was leaking quite a bit. Due to the size of the leak, I had to pay to replace the oil filter housing and the related fluids. This was about a 3 hours repair. I could not drive the vehicle until the part was replaced. This part failing and leaking at about 85,800 miles seems to have been premature. The garage staff told me the vehicle could not pass inspection until the part was replaced. It seems as if the part has had issues and the newer components may be more durable.
Oil filter housing leaks is made out of cheap plastic and failed. Leaking oil can make roads slick and cause accidents and is a fire hazard to vehicle.

Failure of engine oil filter housing - engine leaking oil if the engine fails, the vehicle could stop in traffic thereby putting the driver and passengers at risk of injury from other traffic. Independent repair service fixed and stated they average 1 a week. The place that diagnosed the problem said they do quite a few repairs on this engine monthly. Nothing reported but this seems to be a common problem with this engine. Large oil drip only indication of problem.
The engine developed a ticking noise. From what I have found, there are defective rocker arms in the engine. Eventually, they will fail and cause complete engine failure which can occur at any time, even when driving at high speeds. This seems to be a serious safety concern. There is a class action lawsuit working its way through the courts, but, there should be a safety recall. Thanks [xxx] information redacted pursuant to the freedom of information act (foia), 5 u. S. C. 552(b)(6).
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated while the vehicle was at the independent mechanic to have the transmission replaced, the contact was informed that the plastic oil filter housing was melted. The contact was informed that the oil filter housing needed to be replaced. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was unknown.
Left cylinder failure /misfire on 2014 town and country. Most likely 2013 engine. ) bought minivan brand new in April 2014. Have had several Chrysler minivans never had issues. Mechanic say this minivan complete failure, too expensive to fix. Impacted transmission and it is bad too now. No recalls on this and should be. Such a great van and was disappointed I did not get more years and miles out of it.
Two blocks from home my pentastar oil filter housing & cooler line broke and there was oil all over and the car stalled just before my driveway. Could not start it and had a towing company take to meekhof tire & service where I have my work done. Safety was ok. No inspected other than meekhof checking to see what was wrong. There were no warning lights on dash. Chrysler has known about this problem for a long time and never did a recall. So I had to get a used 3. 6lv6 engine.
Purchased vehicle in March 2024 then in late August 2024 the engine light came on. On October 3rd I took the vehicle to a chrylser dealer near me and they diagnosed it as needing a transmission & oil cooler replacement, #5 fuel injector, and vacuum harness among other things.
Oil housing has been replaced 4 times. Since 64k miles, now at 112k. There needs to be a recall. There are so many similar occurances. This is a huge fire hazzard.
Cylinder 2 codes out. Check engine light on. The check engine light, came on 2 weeks ago and has not gone out. Van shakes a little bit, when in low rpm and sitting at lights. It has been confirmed by independent mechanic.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler Town & Country. The contact stated while driving 40mph, the code p0304 and the check engine light illuminated. Contact also mention that the vehicle was hesitating and misfired. The vehicle taken independent mechanic where is was diagnosed that cylinder four misfired. the vehicle was repaired as the spark plugs and the ignition cooil were replaced but the failure persisted. The vehicle was taken to the dealer where they looked up her VIN and refused service under the bulletin ,and advised contact to call Chrysler customer care. The VIN was not included in technical service bulletin 09-002-(cylinder leakage). The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was 171,955.
The cylinder 4 misfires. A leak down test was done by a mechanic and it failed. The entire cylinder head will have to be replaced. There are loads of people with this issue, and I know there was a recall at one point for certain years but the year 2014 was not included, neither was cylinder 4. There were warning signs such as shaking in the car when coming to a stop.
I wrote before about the electrical issue. My husband jumped started my car on 8/28/24. I drove down to my church for a women's bible study. I was there for 2 1/2 hours. When I went to leave my car would not start. I called my son. He jump started my car for me. As I was about to leave after a few minutes my car quit running. As the car was running every electrical component on the dash was going haywire, the heater fan was going full blast, but the windows would not go up. That was irritating as it started to rain. Had to cover the windows. Left the car in parking lot. Next day after church my husband tried to start the car. The car turned over and the battery light was on. Brande new battery was put in that week, as the following we thought that might have been the problem. He jumped started the car same thing as before. We had to have the car flat bedded to the mechanic. The mechanic tested the new alternator that was just put in and said it was bad. Replaced the alternator and car ran. He wanted to see what would happen so he kept car over night. Next morning car would not start. All fuses have been checked, fuse box has been checked. Nobody can seem to figure out what is going on with this vehicle. I have spent over $2000. An to no avail. I am ready to junk this thing. Mu dad said their was a caravan for sale I just read they have electrical issues also no way.
The vehicle had a recall that was not satisfied before expiration. The vehicle currently has only 92,135 miles. The car would stall out while driving down the road. The head was manufactured to thin, cylinder misfire. It was very unsafe going up and down the mountains in our area especially. It would not shift after going down an incline. So have to pull over and restart. I called and made a complaint before. We finally saved up enough to pay for the work. I have a receipt for $3219. 76. The Chrysler recall bulletin is 09-002-14. I contacted Chrysler they just put me to all different people and no one knows. This was a very dangerous situation to drive.
While I was driving the van started acting like I was driving a stick shift car. Stalling out . Now the car jumps and wants to turn off when I'm reversing or trying to drive. It feels like I am driving a stich shift car and cant get out of first gear.
Cylinder #1 misfire fuel injectors replaced 4/16/2024; 7/26/2024 cylinder #6 misfire and compression leak. Chrysler refuses to acknowledge additional issue with this 3. 6l engine cylinder head. Customer service disconnected me when I asked to file a complaint. Called the canadian phone number on x56 service bulletin and repeatedly got disconnect.
