No check engine warning, unpredictable no start, no crank. Physical well being of grandchild, others and self at risk due to high temperatures. This also puts stress on mental well being, how to fix, can I fix, the cost and constant worry of being stranded. Have not confirmed with dealer. Did have a shop review. Battery, alternator good, starter is new. Issue is sporadic and hard to duplicate, but happening daily. Research on internet shows this is common occurrence without a definitive solution. Who has to have a breakdown, not just mechanically speaking to find a solutuon?.

Today, we experienced, for the fourth time, a complete stall while driving. Accelerator would not work at all. Van died while driving approx 25 mph. We just had the entire fuel pump & fuel pump relay completely replaced. We have replaced both of these twice now, in less than 3 years. Same problem keeps happening. Mechanic agrees, that the core problem lies within a failure of the tipm system. It's an electrical problem causing the fuel pump to fail while driving. This is extremely dangerous. It happened to us previously, while we were on the interstate driving approx 65 mph, and it almost caused us to crash the vehicle. Another problem to also note, is this same problem has caused the a/c unit to stop working. Blows out hot air, but will not produce cold air. A/c was completely replaced. Still not working. Mechanic says yet again, it's a failure of electrical sources due to the tipm module. This should be an immediate recall from Chrysler, for 2013 town n country minivan. Over 200 logged complaints of the exact same problem. They manufactured a broken tipm module in these make & model vehicles. Now, my husband is stranded 200 miles from home, on the side of the road, and it's 98 degrees out. This is 4th time, weve experienced a total power failure. So it doesn't matter if you replace the fuel pump, it will still die. We are having this pos towed to our local mechanic, again. Its available for inspection. Problems have been confirmed by an independent servicer. Check engine remains on. Someone is going to die, if Chrysler doesn't issue an recall for this ongoing problem. The interior power is still on,and engine will turn over, will not start.

The vehicle randomly loses all power, which means no power steering and no brakes. It happens randomly and after searching online it appears others have the same issue faced back to the wireless ignition node being faulty. However the previous recall doesn't cover the vehicle I have which is experiencing the exact same symptoms. My wife has already had a close call as she is unable to steer the vehicle without power steering and the brakes don't work at all.

Spark plugs and motor/transmission mount fixed but car started shutting off when I would come to a stop. Took it back to dealership and they stated the tcc failed and was replaced, started messing up again a week later. Wouldn’t start , I had the battery and alternator checked and both are good. It is currently back in the shop.

The win module in the listed vehicle has failed and is being replaced. This is the same type of win module that was contained in a recall for 2008-2010 models and should be updated to include the models beyond 2010. The problem has been random for a couple of years, but recently we have had constant issues with the vehicle shutting off while driving, leaving no power for steering or braking. The entire vehicle shuts off randomly, including while driving and is dangerous for anyone who owns this model vehicle. I am surprised and disappointed that newer models (same base design) are experiencing the same issue and nothing has been done. The following websites address the issue with model years similar to mine. . Read more...
Oil cooler housing leak. Oil leaking all over transmission and engine valley, potential fire hazard. Ticking in engine and metal deposits caused by poor design of cam follower. Destroyed cam and potential for engine to seize up.
Chrysler is aware that they have a faulty engine oil filter adapter in many of their automobiles but are refusing to do a recall to address the issue. Mine finally began leaking just a couple drops on the cement no warning light. Brought it into the shop and was confirmed that the adapter was leaking alot whole engine was covered. This could have led to my car seizing up on the highway without a warning light at all!.
My van began to leak oil at a high rate spontaneously one day. I found antifreeze had mixed into the piston chamber as well. Upon further investigation, it appears that the ofa as Chrysler calls it, or the oil filter assembly, has a fatal design flaw being made of plastic and through heat and time these units are prone to cracking. Upon investigating forums, this assembly is used on other vehicles across the fca brands and exhibits the same failure. It is also prone to cracking during the replacement process of the filter as high torque of unscrewing or screwing the filter can crack a portion of the ofa. There is an aluminum version of the ofa that is being recommended for replacement of the oem ofa which to me signals a confirmation of the design defect, however, if the vehicle is outside the warranty, the oem is refusing to cover any of the replacement cost.
Transmission oil cooler lines leaking and oil filter adapter housing is leaking.
Oil filter housing is made of plastic and leaks like crazy it is a known problem with Chrysler.
Started the vehicle and traveled maybe about 50 feet. Noticed loss of power steering. This was due to the engine stalling out. The vehicle would not start and there was a strong odor of fuel fumes in the vehicle cabin. Exited the vehicle and observed a large puddle of oil running downhill from the vehicle. The puddle also smelled of gasoline. I had the vehicle towed to a repair shop. The issue was determined to be a cracked oil filter housing assembly and the clip on the fuel return line had failed causing fuel to be sprayed onto the engine. The repair cost will be just over $800. It is fortunate that the engine was still cold and that the loss of oil caused the engine to shut off. If the engine had been hot enough to ignite the fuel, this could have had tragic results with a potential loss of my family's life. The oil filter housing assembly is a known issue with the pentastar v6 3. 6l engine. Chrysler so far has failed to take responsibility for this issue. I recently had to have repairs due to a faulty fuel pump relay. There appears to be related Chrysler tipm recalls on almost every other model but the 2013 town and country. This issue appears to cause the vehicle to not start or allow the fuel pump to remain running after the vehicle is shut down. My town and country would not start and it produced strong fuel fumes. As noted, there are multiple safety issues noted with this model of vehicle that remain unresolved. It is a 2013 model but the issues are ones that have existed since the production of the vehicle and Chrysler has yet to assume responsibility. I will add a copy of the repair invoice shortly.

The contact owns a 2014 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated that while driving at approximately 40 mph, and once while stopped at a red traffic light, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The vehicle was able to be restarted each time. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was notified of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 74,000.
Ticking started in the engine, idle is rough most times, #2 cylinder misfire and does not accelerate when gas pedal is pressed. Occasional cut off while driving or stopping at a light. Mechanic checked codes to verify. In September of 2023 transmission was replaced by a certified shop after the same similar issues. Keep dumping money into a car that I am still paying on and maintain according to the maintenance schedule.
The oil cooler that is located under the intake manifold has a very bad issue and they crack and almost everyone of the engines like this I called about 9 diff shops and everyone of them told me it was a very common issue the one shop even keeps 5 in stock I already have changed this one but it causes them to leak oil down onto the exhaust and transmission and for some reason or another when ours started to leak badly the transmission acted up and we had to have that rebuilt so on top of the 250 dollar part it also cost almost 5k for a transmission at same time I feel there needs to be something done about this as it a very bad common issue on all the engines like ours.
Several times over the past few weeks the van has just shut off while driving. This has happened at low speeds and at city driving speeds. The engine just completely shuts off and the van loses power brakes/steering/acceleration with no warning, no rough running, no sounds, and no check engine light. The mechanic cannot find anything wrong with it but the problem continues at random intervals. This is potentially very dangerous and even worse is that there is no evident problem.
The contact owns a 2016 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the transmission failed to shift into high gear. The vehicle was revving. The contact also stated that the vehicle had failed to start. There were no warning lights illuminated. The vehicle was taken to a service station to have the transmission replaced. The local dealer was not contacted. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired. The manufacturer was contacted and informed the contact there was no recall coverage for the failure. The contact stated that the failure was related to NHTSA campaign number: 16v461000 (power train). The failure mileage was 82,000.
Check engine light came on and vehicle began to surge. Acceleration was unpredictable. It wouldn't accelerate properly and then would surge forward. I took it to a repair shop and after a accumulating a large diagnostic bill, they said that the lobes on camshaft wore down and are causing misfires. They said it was a well known manufacturing defect and a common issue with this engine.
While driving the car stalls at speed and all electrical components stop functioning. This causes failure to the power steering, power brakes and all components that permit driving the vehicle. Has happened numerous times with no codes shown on the dash. Fuel was adequate and no apparent defects. Taken to mechanic and there are no codes to check and commonly the engine will start up after a while and appear to have no problems. This is very dangerous as the car can stall at any speed.
We have had multiple times when we are driving, and our vehicle shuts off and we lose power steering and power brakes. When the van does come to a stop, we are able to restart it and continue on. There is no warning that the van is going to shut off, it just does it. This is our family vehicle. I have found multiple forms online with customers complaining of the same issue with no positive results from the dealerships.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving approximately 35 mph, the vehicle stalled. The contact stated no warning light was illuminated. The contact stated that the failure was intermittent but had started occurring more frequently and the vehicle would stall at various speeds. The contact had taken the vehicle to an independent mechanic who was unable to duplicate the failure. The vehicle was not repaired. The manufacturer was informed of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 171,000.
The contact owns a 2010 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving 30 mph, the vehicle lost motive power and stalled. The contact pulled over to the side of the road and restarted the vehicle however, the failure recurred. Several unknown warning lights were illuminated. The vehicle had not been diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or dealer. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 213,000.
Engine stalled at roughly 20 miles per hour, thankfully, I was stopped. Restarted and drove off, but vehicle now has a check engine light on.
While driving today the vehicle stopped shifting and the check engine light turned on. When I pressed the gas pedal the rpm gauge would go to 4 or 5 but the vehicle wouldn’t move initially. It jolted forward after a few seconds of pressing the gas. Because I had my children in the vehicle, I slowly drove to the garage I see regularly. They checked the code and with that revealed it was something to do with the transmission fluid pressure and the power steering pump.
Engine shut down while driving. Will restart if put back into park and restart. Has happened two times in the past.

Oil leakage. I’ve read numerous reports online with the same year make and model about oil leakage we bought this car used without doing and research first just because we needed a car. And when I notice the oil leak I’ve been doing research and a lot of people have had the same problem causing people to spend alot of money to fix it which could have been prevented.
The contact owns a 2013 Chrysler town and country. The contact stated while driving at an undisclosed speed, the vehicle lost motive power. The brake pedal was depressed; however, the vehicle failed to stop as intended. Additionally, the vehicle lost power steering functionality and the vehicle became difficult to steer. The contact stated that the failure occurred while driving uphill on a very narrow street. The contact was able to shift the vehicle into park, while using both feet to depress the brake pedal. The vehicle was stopped, and the contact turned off the vehicle. The contact stated that her four-year-old granddaughter was a passenger in the vehicle and the situation was very scary. The contact waited for several minutes, before restarting the vehicle. The vehicle was driven to the residence. The vehicle was not diagnosed or repaired by an independent mechanic or the dealer. The contact stated that the failure had occurred several times and the vehicle had been taken to an independent mechanic several times; however, the failure was not duplicated. The manufacturer was not made aware of the failure. The failure mileage was approximately 99,000.
While driving at posted limits, the van will shut off without warning. This has happened 5 times. We have been fortunate that no cars have been following close behind, so we have been able to pull the van off the side of the road, stop and re-start the van. I have had a dealer and another mechanic look at the ignition and attempt to trouble shoot. However, nothing is ever found. This does not happen with any consistency. . . It is very random.
The engine light came on after replacing the front cylinder head and was illuminated before this repair. The engine has a constant clicking sound, and runs very rough and nearly to a stall constantly. The vehicle is using fuel at an alarming rate. The vehicle cannot be driven for any distance as the rpms are out of control when accelerating. Mechanics who have looked at the vehicle said this is a common problem with the 3. 6 engine and will not be remedied easily. I was advised not to drive the vehicle for safety reasons.
