1 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2012 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 01/28/2020

2012 Chrysler town and country complaint 2/2 vehicle would having a humming and whirring sound coming from it that would cease only when the battery is dead or terminal removed. The lights would kill the battery despite being left in off position. The vehicle currently was taken to the store for the change of a tipm due to smelling a very hot burning scent and then in stop whirring sound along with display is hot in red on screen. The actual screen and middle control panel to hot to touch. The vehicle tire system signal would occur recurrently and it would cause one to have continuously check tires even if they were fine and sometimes the vehicle would need and others not. The vehicle was left with the dealer to change a tipm and work on the fuel pump not stopping even with no key in the vehicle and change the burned electrical rear window switch that had burned like October. The vehicle had a brand new battery installed by aaa. And this battery cell was destroyed by the continuous draining and jump starting. The vehicle has had the tipm put in and returned to me a month later not being able to drive more than 2 miles without overheating and release of white smoke. The car has no coolant in it and no oil when replaced immediately the vehicle burned it off and it ran out. The vehicle also had to be towed back to the dealer. The dealer charges for the new computer and then tells me I have to pay for the coolant problem, the oil leak problem and and some caliber with my wheel. The vehicle also after having a new tipm installed and new remote coded and programmed the vehicle passenger door on the right still doesn't lock with instruction from neither remote or manually. The dealer is telling me I can not fix the oil leak thing and drive it topping of the oil and checking it daily.

2 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2014 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/18/2019

Driving one morning check engine light came on. Also noticed van not wanting to shift into overdrive 6th gear . Went to get code read p060dd was present . Started by checking oil very low . Then noticed oil all over the top of transmission and leaking down side of motor from underneath the intake. Upon further inspection noticed valley of engine full of oil. Added about 3 quarts of oil and drove car 30 miles light went off. I found multiple tsbs about the oil filter housing. Called dealer they said yep it's a issuse and parts 286. . During the repair after I removed the intake I was able to confirm that it appeared to be the oil filter adapter housing leaking oil. In filled the engine valley with oil. I replaced the part plus new intake gaskets and then drained all the oil and coolant. Hopefully this part doesn't fail again as I used a oem from Dodge Chrysler.

3 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/22/2019

While traveling at speeds less than 40 mph, and typically within 5 minutes of starting, the vehicle will shut down all power (engine, electrical, and brakes) while driving, making it very hard to stop the vehicle, and very dangerous . I have taken it to the dealer and they stated it was overheating and result of the coolant system leaking, which we had them fix, and problem continues to occur. There was no way it was overheating that quickly after starting. Dealer has refused to look at other postings online that suggest this is a prevalent problem, and unrelated to the coolant system.

5 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2011 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 02/15/2019

Noticed oil dripping on the floor of the garage. . Unable to locate source at home. To maint shop found oil filter housing ( actually part of oil/coolant heat exchanger) seals leaking on top of the engine block below the intake assembly. Impossible to see visually. Chrysler sb 09-008-15 dated 8-7-2015 deals with this issue. Big problem is that as stated, takes almost a quart of oil to sit on top of the engine for it to start to leak visually. . . . Serious fire hazard,, especially in hot weather. ( am in mn) this should be a recall issue,, as continued leakage is a fire hazard that can go unnoticed until failure of the engine or worse. Part number 68105583aa.

6 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/01/2015

Coolant must have a slow leak somewhere. Yet there is not a drip circle under my car the airbag light comes on. The air conditioner wouldn't work and now the heater doesn't work. Does the airbag have anything to do with the leaking? it happens intermittently.

7 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 08/15/2013

The "y" fitting on heater hose is cracked and leaking coolant, big plumes of coolant steam escapes from the drivers side wheel well until leaking fluid has evaporated. Until the evap happens I cannot use the defroster as it takes the climate control off recycle and the coolant fumes then enter the cab. Chrysler was made aware of the issue, as well as another on December 5, and refused to fix or help with repair costs, vehicle still not repaired, still leaking coolant. 2 small children, 5 yrs and 14 months, ride in this vehicle on a daily basis and can be exposed to the fumes. Also cannot use remote start due to the fumes leaking into cab until the vehicle key is in place and climate control recycle kicks in, so in cold weather like this week I can not warm my van up without physically going out and starting it up. If I am contacted I will provide VIN.

8 Coolant Leaking problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 12/01/2011

The first problem we noticed with the van was the brakes. They wear out way to quickly. In the 5 years we have had the van we have replaced the brakes 6 times and rotors 2 times. The next problem was what seems to be a well documented leak of the coolant on to the engine causing smelly smoke. We were forced to by the part from the dealer as it was not available anywhere else and paid over 100. 00 for it. Thankfully my husband was able to replace it. Now at 80000 miles the key and ignition has been having issues. It started with not being able to remove the key fob. The engine will cut off but it will only go into accessory. If left overnight or for sometime it will kill the battery. It started occasionally and has progressed to almost every time you cut the engine off you cannot remove the key fob. It will release but it is after sometime sitting in park. It is very frustrating having to leave your key in the ignition and be forced to leave it sitting in a random parking lot and just hope that when you return the battery is not dead. I have researched this issue and it is very common among this van and other Chrysler vehicles. At this point I am so fed up with it if someone decided to steal it because they saw the key in it I would just wish them good luck. I will never own another Chrysler ! seems like there has to be a fire injury or fatality for them to do anything to satisfy all the unhappy customers they have.
