Upon inspection it was discovered that the engine camshaft rocker arm was faulty and needed repairing. The vehicle was not repaired. Cause of the failure was not determined. Tl the contact owns a 2012 Chrysler town and country. While driving 25-30 mph, the contact heard an abnormal knocking sound coming from the engine. The vehicle was taken to an independent mechanic where it was diagnosed that there was a connecting rod failure in the lower engine. The contact stated that the engine was being replaced. The vehicle was not included in NHTSA campaign number: 11v487000 (engine and engine cooling). The local dealer was not contacted. The manufacturer was made aware of the failure. The approximate failure mileage was 60,000.

Engine mounts cracked within six months, and car started making a knocking noise. There were no warning lights. Also, bearings on the bottom of the motor broke, and vehicle needed a new motor. While car was under warranty the transmission went out. Vehicle is still having problems with transmission leaking. Dealer refused to fix vehicle under warranty.
