1 Engine problem of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/20/2011

My wife was driving the 2009 Chrysler town and country today when the throttle just began racing. This ocurrs completely at random. The dealer can't find a code and has just cleaned the throttle body in an attempt to fix this. Clearly, it hasn't fixed it. After a few seconds it returns to the commanded speed from the pedal. Very dangerous!!.

3 Engine problem of the 2009 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 11/19/2010

1. Wife was driving 2009 Chrysler town and country. She was pulling out into traffic when the van just "cut off". 2. The van completely turns off. No gauges, no warning, just cuts off. The failure is completely random. She was almost broad-sided by on-coming traffic with her and our three kids in the van this time. 3. Van has been taken to the dealer at least twice and they could find no fault codes or reason for the van cutting off. Had us pay to have the injectors cleaned and said "that should fix it" (the van had less than 27,500 miles on it at this point). The van did it again the very next day. Dealer said "could not duplicate problem".

4 Engine problem of the 2005 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 10/28/2008

Upon hearing a noise coming from the engine of our 2005 town and country we took the van to our independent mechanic. He found the noise was caused by a broken alternator mount. He did not complete any repairs but stated we should contact Chrysler since this was a manufacturer defect in the part. When I contacted Chrysler I was told I had to take it to an authorized dealer to have them look at it and then the dealership would have to call them back. I did that and the shop manager, jim, took an approximately 15 second look at the broken part, shut the hood, took my number and asked why Chrysler said he had to call. I told him that was what I had been told and he said he would get back with me. I called him the next day and he said he had a call in to his district manager who had the authority to authorize repairs. When jim called back he stated that the district manager would not repair the broken part based on the number of miles on the van (83,000. ) jim also stated that he had never seen this happen before and had no idea what could have caused the mount to break. He agreed that even if the van had 200,000 miles on it he would not expect to see the broken mount. I asked what other recourse I had and he stated I would have to call the 1-800 Chrysler number. I then called that number and spoke with steve who took a report ( which I requested to have filed. ) he then transferred me to cheryl who read the report and then called the dealership and spoke with jim. When she returned to me she stated they would not do the repair based on the number of miles and the fact that I did not exclusively use the dealership for routine maintenance. She said that since I did not show loyalty to the dealership and the brand then they were not willing cover the repair. No one ever denied that the product was defective.

13 Engine problem of the 2000 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 07/18/2006

Complaint involves a 2000 Chrysler Town & Country ltd awd minvan 3. 8l engine. During its annual safety inspection, my mechanic discovered the flywheel was cracked. I had brought the vehicle in to a) have it inspected b) check a metallic noise the engine had when the a/c was on. Vehicle passed the safety inspection, however he informed me the flywheel was cracked and should not be driven until fixed. It was my understanding that if it failed completely it could cause an explosion with the transmission case being blown apart - not a good thing when this vehicle is used primarily by my wife with our children as the main cargo. I had the vehicle repaired which cost approxiamately $560.

Today my Chrysler t&c broke down on me. I was very upset that this happened to me it's not even 1 year old yet. I had to leave it at the dealer over the weekend and that is our only vehicle. I tried to get a rental but they wanted to charge me a $50. 00 deposit when we would usually pay a $5. 00 one not only that, I have a service contract with Chrysler and my own auto insurance it's sad to know that I had to find a ride home, and find someone to pick up my kids from school while I was stranded waiting for the tow truck to arrive. I dont think this is fair to me because we paid a pretty penny for all the extra coverage 7yr. Or 7000 miles and to get treated this way. . . Please someone help!! thank you.
