37 Engine Stall problem of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 10/15/2014

Van engine will randomly stall when in drive and in motion which leaves the driver unexpectedly without power steering and power brakes (and perhaps without active airbags?). This has happened several times within the past month. The local Chrysler dealer is unable to duplicate or find the issue. No active or any relevant codes (dtc's) stored in the pcm. Observations: has only happened on a gravel road (luckily - with low speeds). Traction control light is illuminated every time. Upon coming to a stop and once the van is put back into park or neutral, it will immediately restart.

38 Engine Stall problem of the 2013 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 10/13/2014

The engine, without warning, will shut off while driving. This has happened approximately 5 times since October 13, 2014. There is no warning the engine is getting ready to stall, and the only light on the dash that comes on after the stall is the traction control light. As car is coasting under inertia, I am able to shift into neutral and restart the engine with no trouble. There are no error codes stored in the van's computer, per my local Chrysler dealership. The dealership's service department has been unable to duplicate the problem and cannot figure out a solution. I believe this to be a serious safety issue, as power steering and power brakes are lost once the engine stalls/shuts off.

The engine stalls while I am driving or idling shortly after refueling. I do not top off the gas tank. This has happened after each refuel since I purchased the vehicle (approximately 12 times in total). The car will sputter and then stall while idling or will jerk forward violently as the engine sputters while I am driving and then stall. This may happen immediately in the gas station parking lot or as far away as 1 mile down the road after refueling. I was nearly rear-ended this morning when this occurred.

I had just filled up the gas tank and was departing a gas station. It was a large parking lot, so I was accelerating to merge onto us-19 in homossassa springs, FL and the engine stalled completely. Luckily, we had not exited the gas station parking lot and I was able to steer out of traffic and come to a complete stop. This has happened multiple times since the first occurrence, without injury, or accident. After filling up gas tank and re-starting the engine, the engine either stumbles or stalls 1-5 times beginning within about 60 seconds of starting engine and driving away from gas station. This has been happening repeatedly over the last year and has become more frequent in the past 6 months. At least twice, it has stalled while pulling into an intersection right after fill up. After about 5 minutes, the stumbling/stalling stops and doesn't recur until after the next fill up. It occurs during both low-speed driving (e. G. Waiting at a light) and at high-speed driving (e. G. Merging onto interstate highway immediately after filling up) online forums indicate this is a common problem with this make vehicle and say the only fix is replacement of the entire gas tank. E. A search in google came up with many, many people with many different cars experiencing the same thing. If you pull out of the gas station directly onto a highway and stall while trying to merge into high speed traffic, the results could be disastrous (b'ah).

59 Engine Stall problem of the 2010 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 06/24/2013

In June 2013 my engine stalled without warning. I lost power steering and power brakes. I was traveling <10 mph. I had another incident later that same year in October. The incidents were so random and I thought perhaps I didn't turn the key fob all the way after starting the vehicle via the remote start system. Again in 2014 it occurred several times, so I started trying to determine the common denominator, but could find none. The service station I brought it to couldn't diagnose or repair due to the inability to replicate the problem. In 2015, the problem became more frequent and today I am now experiencing this 2-3 times per day 3-4 times per week at speeds traveling up to 40 mph. I brought it to my local Chrysler dealership where I purchased the vehicle and after having my vehicle for 5 days they were unable to diagnose or repair due to the inability to replicate the problem. This has truly become a serious safety issue as I always lose power steering and brakes. Typically, I put my hazards on, place the vehicle in neutral, restart it, return to drive, and turn hazards off. However, I came very close to being involved in an accident when this occurred while I was making a left hand turn through an intersection. I am at a loss as what to do.

60 Engine Stall problem of the 2008 Chrysler Town & Country

Failure Date: 03/14/2013

At low driving speed the engine did not maintain idle and stalled. Due to the engine stall, the brakes, and power steering were disabled and the car continued in motion moving forward at approximately 8 to 10 mph. Driver was able to maneuver to the shoulder of the road and coast to a stop with only the very limited steering and breaking power remaining. Once at a full stop the car was able to restart once the shift lever was placed in the park position. Since this initial incident, the same stall problem has reoccurred about twenty times in total for two different drivers. Each time the car has been in motion at low speed and usually with the driver backing off the accelerator with the driver's foot moving off the gas pedal and onto the brake pedal. The vehicle was inspected by the dealer more than once and it was stated by the service manager that the issue could not be duplicated when test driven. Also it was stated that no fault was recorded by the standard computerized test of the car.
