While driving on the interstate when I lifted my foot off of the gas pedal it started to jerk on me, the check engine light stays on and the abs light will stay on, it also stalls at randum anytime while driving, every 2 to 3 years I have to have the brakes and the rotors redone, I had the camshaft sensor replaced and was told that they found metal fragments on the sensor I even saw it and was told that that usually tells them that this is a timing problem and could be the problem for stalling and if that doesn't work then it will be the engine, the timing problem will cost around $2000 along with the cost of the engine if its not the timing, then there is a evaporator core problem that is costly, there is a manifold gasket leak also another $1000,I've always done the service repairs but this is all to costly hate to dump it but now I'm thinking of a different vehicle and not another town n country, will never buy again.

Oil filter housing is leaking oil beneath the intake manifold (engine valley). This oil pools into this area and may hold a quart of oil. Vehicles fires are possible due to oil leakage from the filter housing and pooling in this area. First noticed oil leaks on the driveway. The oil appeared to be coming from the engine valley and leaking onto the transmission area and then the driveway. Dealer stated the oil filter housing leaking is a common problem with the 2014 town and country/caravan. The oil filter housing developed a crack and oil now leaks onto the engine valley.
Engine warning light keeps coming on. Injector misfire, harness keeps shorting out because it is to close to the manifold and the insulation keeps burning off. This causes the warning light to come on stating to stop driving immediately and get service. This has caused chronic replacement of wiring and injector parts happened multiple times. Started in March 2016 ,again in may and now June omparts used to replace. I cant afford to keep doing this, recal should be done to fix chronic problem.

I have had this 2008 t&c since 2009. Bought it one year old with 20,000 miles. After the first oil changed I noticed that oil was being consumed somewhere. It wasn't burning out the tail pipe (no blue smoke anywhere, anytime), so the engine must have been using it. When I called the Chrysler service department, I was told that it is normal for engines to burn a quart of oil every 1000 miles. I have never heard of any engine using that much oil ever! I have owned 16 cars in my lifetime and not one of them ever used oil - none! so, knowing this I had to keep 5 quarts of oil in the garage at all times and about every other week I would add another quart. So my wife was coming home from work late one night and the van died while driving. I took it into a repair shop (not Chrysler as it was out of warranty) and my mechanic told me that along with dropping a valve seat in one of the heads, that the engine had also spun 2 bearings and were shattered in the oil pan. I have always made sure to keep oil in this engine because it was using so much and would check it regularly as I was always worried about it - especially since Chrysler said that it was normal - which it isn't! now I'm stuck paying for a $3,500 engine and labor at 103,000 miles and a 6 year old vehicle. This is entirely unacceptable! I know I'm not the only person complaining about this specific vehicle as I have looked up online to find that thousand's of other people are having the same issues. Honestly I cannot believe the motor has not been recalled for this by now as it has been happening for years now! I normally drive all of my vehicles to 150,000 to 200,000 miles and when I have sold all of them they have been in perfect running condition - but this t&c has been nothing short of a failure since the day we bought it. What makes it so hard is this is the 3rd t&c we have bought and the other 2 were great!.

Antifreeze sprayed over the entire engine compartment making the car smoke from antifreeze spilling onto the engine manifold. The heater hose assembly, the "y" that separates is cracked at the molded portion of the where the to parts meet.
This vehicle stalls after refueling. I google the problem and I found numerous complaints from people with this problem all having Chrysler/Dodge vehicles. This is a huge safety concern as the vehicles tend to randomly stall after refueling. Several mechanics posted the cause as being a defective value on the top of the fuel tank causing the problem. This is one of those posts. Shops are reporting a problem with the gas tank on Dodge caravan, grand caravan, Plymouth voyager, and town and country vans. Shortly after refueling, drivers experience engine stalling. The stalling may repeat several times. The problem is the vapor/liquid separator valve located at the top of the fuel tank. The valve is designed to prevent liquid fuel from entering the charcoal canister/emissions system. When the valve fails, liquid gas can enter the line and fill the charcoal canister. After refueling the pcm on the vehicle detects a change in fuel level. Then, when the engine meets certain temperature and driving criteria, the pcm issues a purge command to the charcoal canister to remove the stored gas vapors. It?s at that point that all the liquid gas in the line gets sucked into the charcoal canister. The pcm expects to see gas vapors entering the intake manifold and it is prepared to adjust air/fuel mixtures to compensate. However, it is not prepared to see liquid gas coming into the intake. That?s what causes the engine to stall. Unfortunately, the only fix is to replace the entire gas tank. Chrysler does not sell the vapor/liquid valve as a separate unit. Once the tank is replaced and the charcoal canister purged, the problem goes away.

I own a 1998 Chrysler town and country minivan and I was getting real sleepy every time I drove it . Upon inspection by an auto repair shop. I was informed the expansion joint on the exhaust pipe crossover pipe was cracked and letting fumes enter the passenger compartment. This is a very dangerous situation. The repair part is over $500 which the mechanic said was very much overpriced. This expansion joint is made of stainless steel which gets very brittle with heat and will crack over time with extended use. The part was used on Chrysler Town & Country and voyager minivans. I feel due to the seriousness of this defect, these vans should be recalled and repaired without cost to the vehicle owners.

1-reported vibration in steering wheel between 20-50 mph [2-possible exhaust leak, I was getting sleepy after 20-30 min drive time, I use recycle mode on a/c due to having asthma [ 3-reported noise from the muffler/exhaust area[4- a/c compressor makes a laboring noise [5-vibration and a growling noise in rear suspension, axle or transmission[6-transmission seems to slip or jerk into and out of gear between 15-45 mph. Service department could not duplicate any of my concerns but by the same token my mileage out was the same as my mileage in so I'm not sure it was even driven. Three[3] days later I came in and ask for someone to drive with me and the technician was able to hear the noise before we had gone a mile, at that time he thought is was just a loose spare tire but when I came back that afternoon I was told it was the catalytic converter but there was not one in town and as soon as it came in it would be repaired. It was supposedly order on Thursday Jan 19,2006 and received on Jan 26,2006. Catalytic converter was replaced on Jan 27,2006 as well as exhaust manifold gasket. [7-on this date I also reported on Jan 26,2006, when I was braking to slow down to turn right the car engine surged forward and almost lost control of car-nothing was listed on the service copy as cause or what was tested for the engine surging when braking. [8-rear brakes have crystallized and need to be replaced at my cost. Am getting other prices at this time.

Rented a chrystler towne & country minivan 2005 and dropped a bottle cap when the passenger door openened. Reached left hand slightly under right side of van and middle of arm touched the pipe (exhaust pipe?) hanging down running down right side of van. The pipe is all the way on the right side of vehicle. There is no warning signs, nor is it covered. I received a very bad burn on my arm. My concern is why is it located so far to the right (low) and running all the way down the vehicle (not up under the van), and there are no warning signs anywhere. I am very concerned if a child retrieved a ball even slightly under the car they could get seriously injured. I am now left with a serious burn and scarring and do not want this to happen to anyone else. There is no reason for the location of this pipe. I advised avis rental car of the injury and showed them my burn and they were going to write a letter (?). I would never expect an exhaust pipe to be on the right hand side by the drivers/passenger door, but I hear it is due to the "stow n go" system and there is no room up underneath the minivan for the exhaust pipe.
Thick white smoke was coming out of the back of the van - it had a burning smell. People on the highway were moving away from us because of it. We brought it to our mechanic and he said that the tubes that feed antifreeze to the back of the van (to heat the back) were all rotted, and leaked antifreeze all over the exhaust. He said it was a result of "poor manufacturing. " the car is a 2002 Chrysler Town & Country and only has 30,000 miles on it. The warranty just ran out 2 months ago.

Failure of the flex joint in the rear exhaust manifold on the 3. 8 liter v6 engine. Causing exhaust noise under the hood and exhaust entering the cabin area when the heater is in use.
The exhaust pipe was defective, and dealer was unable to obtain the part. Manufacturer stated it will be in around the end of December.

Intake manifold leak that is affecting engine performance and cooling. Belt tensioner, effecting engine performance.
Lincoln town and country would stall when shifting. Around 1k miles the vehicle had become hard to shift and would stall. The consumer had taken the vehicle for a recall and felt it was a mistake because the vehicle did not run the same since. On a few occasions moisture filled the vehicle as far back as the middle seats. When the vehicle stopped in the street or at idle it seemed as if the timing was slow. The vehicle was shifted into neutral and smoothed out. The consumer also heard a noise in the motor which turned about 1700-1750 rpm's, and a loud sound had come from the engine area. (the noise had become intermittent) while traveling, the consumer viewed smoke and or steam in which they were unsure of where it was coming from but when they looked under the hood everything looked fine. The dealer was unable to fix the problem. The consumer thought that something was wrong with the a/c but not sure because of other noises. The vehicle also needed a muffler and a resonator.
Consumer states the engine developed a leak in the connection between the rear cylinder head and its exhaust manifold shortly after the warranty expired and there is also a noise. Dealer advised that heat had warped the original exhaust manifold and that the noise was due to the exhaust leaking. The rear exhaust manifold was replaced.
