My gauges started going crazy. The abs and brake lights came on. The heater and radio went off while this was happening. At times the van just cut off in traffic but so far I'm able to start it up again. Was told by rick hendricks Chevrolet service dept that I needed to an alternator. Had a new alternator installed by b&b automotive along with a tensioner. Van still doing the same thing. Also, when the gauges start going crazy, they make a tapping/ticking noise. I replaced the battery in October or November of last year because the van at times did not start. . On one occasion when I had trouble getting it to start, the next day I took it to gerald's tires and brakes who told me I needed a battery. This morning when I approached a stop sign and stopped, the van cut off but fortunately I was able to start it up again. This happens when the van is in motion. Happens just about every day because I drive to and from work. I limit my trips to get groceries or do any unnecessary driving because I'm afraid of the van cutting off in traffic.

Vehicle dashboard displayed service blind spot detector while driving on the highway at 55 mph. After a few more miles, lost power to the entire display and interior lights. The speedometer, fuel gauge, temp gauges flat lined. A few seconds later the display came back on with all the fault lights engine light, tire pressure, brake light, etc. Service center detailed the problem was a corroded blind spot sensor that caused a bus failure and shorted out the electrical system. After doing several searches online this is a known issue with the blind spot detectors becoming corroded and needing to be replaced. This is potentially hazardous to lose power while travelling at highway speeds. . Read more...

After having the win module replaced due to recall the vehicle intermittently started having an issue. While driving we would loose power all gauges (rpm, mpg, fuel), start flashing all the dash lights, chiming, wipers would engage, and headlights start flashing. (all at the same time) this would randomly happen at all times day or night, in all types of weather (cold, warm, wet, dry) and at various speeds and various driving terrains(both city streets and highways). After driving at night and having headlights flashing off and on while everything lighting up and turning on and off (extremely dangerous) we left at dealership for over a week and also showed them a video that we took of the car going haywire. They however, could not diagnose problem. They said all they knew was that when this happens the vehicle is actually trying to shut itself off and that the computer was resetting itself to avoid the engine turning off. They could not tell us why this was happening or how to fix this.

On 3/7/16, 3 days following the recall repair for the win module we had done on 3/4/16, after starting the car and beginning to drive in my church parking lot, all of the dash lights lit up, the car started chiming as if I didn't have my seatbelt on, the wipers engaged, and the mph and rpm gauges dropped to zero. It continually repeated. I attempted to pull into a parking space, turn off and removed key from ignition. Restarted car, and problem persisted. I repeated this again with the problem still persisting. I pulled into a gas station, turned car off, removed key, and exited vehicle. When I restarted the car the problem had stopped. Two days later on 3/8/16 I started my car for work and as soon as I put the car in reverse the same problem started. Shut the car off, removed key, and restarted. . . Still occurring. Shut the car off, removed key, exited vehicle, restarted, still occurring. . . I proceeded to drive down the road after exiting my driveway and took a video of this problem repeating continually until a mile down the road, I pulled over into an empty parking lot, shut the car off, removed key, opened and shut the door, and let it sit for 3-5 minutes before restarting, and the problem no longer occurred. My husband called the dealership, greenwood auto in cortland, OH to tell them what was happening, and all they said that it wasn't from them repairing the win module. I find this extremely unsafe, and hard to believe this is just a coincidence as this has never happened before prior to having the recall repair done. I do not have pictures but I do have a video. Chrysler customer service now says I have to pay a Chrysler dealership for a diagnosis of this new problem, how convenient that is.
While driving or stopped, the entire dash cluster flashes all the lights, the wipers randomly go on and off, the headlights go on and off, the gas gauge goes to "e", the tachometer goes to zero. This has happened several times and we have taken it in to our local chrystler dealership roughly 8 months ago only for them to say nothing is wrong. When it happened again, we took it to a local repair shop that said the same thing. This electrical fault won't show up on their "plug-in" analyzer. I have researched this for months and there are posts all over the internet from others who are having the same issue. There is even a video taken from someone while driving to prove this. I have called chrystler llc 3 times in the past 2 days. Finally today, a supervisor called me and said there is nothing wrong with my van and they won't do anything to assist. I also noticed a class action lawsuit from numerous states on this issue under tipm7. I have contacted a lawyer and plan to file a lawsuit myself since this $24k vehicle is not safe to drive. I will not allow my wife to drive it in fear her or our children may be injured. This issue have been identified since 2009 yet there is no recall? I am willing to bet they know about this unsafe issue but chose to do nothing. I would appreciate any assistance you may offer in this matter.

My gas gauge indicated I had more than 1/4 tank full. Instead, it was empty, and I ran out of gas in the middle of the freeway, in the middle of detroit's worst snow storm in 40 years, with a toddler in the back seat. I subsequently filled my car after waiting in freezing cold until an officer pulled over and helped me, and my gas gauge went to completely empty even though I then filled my tank. It stayed at empty for a day until suddenly moving to 3/4 full, and hasn't budged since. I have no idea now how much gas my tank actually has. Despite the snow storm on Sunday when the incident occurred, the temps were not anything extraordinarily cold for a midwest winter, and regardless of temp, the gas gauge should always work. Had I not had my cell phone, or had I been in a more remote area, or had it been dark at night and I was in a dangerous area, the toddler and I could have been in real physical danger. The potential disaster that could have ensued makes me shudder. This is entirely unacceptable. Please look into this for other town and country minivans.

On 10/06/2013 our 2008 Chrysler town and country touring edition (without alarm system) was parked under carport and for no reason the horn started honking (beep. . . Beep. . Beep. . Constantly), both front and rear wipers & washers started running, door locks started continuously locking/unlocking, and gauges in dash were showing random and unusual readings. On 12/18/2014 while on the road with cruise control set at 65m. P. H. The horn started honking in the same manner, wipers/washers started running, and dash gauges malfunctioned. In both instances the only way to shut it all off was to disconnect the battery for a few days. There have been a few occasions when the horn randomly starts honking in the same manner but stops after just a few seconds.
